The crazy thing is, had they not gotten so greedy they’d probably still be doing SO good. They could have had massive investments, they could have kept their previous giant mansion, and they’d be doing just fine. But they’ve screwed themselves over and over as a result of just greed and wanting “quick and easy” money (even though I think most people who work a regular job would argue that making vlogs and prank videos is already easy money)
100%. They were on track to make millions on each “project” until they took charge and sunk the project before even seeing a profit … 🙄
I just wrote a comment similar to this one because the downfall is INSANE. Instead of being honest and making millions they have consistently decided to scam people and throw it all away. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to grasp that.
It’s true. In life there are entrepreneurs and investors. Most people want to be an entrepreneurs because they get the glory, but you need to realize when you are an investor.
Austin McBroom wanted to be an Entrepreneur, but he doesn’t have the knowledge, business acumen, or basic common sense that it takes. He should have just hired a talented business manager and been an investor.
As much as I wish I was smart enough to invent something that could revolutionize the world as we know it, being an investor is so much better on so many levels. You get the money without the fame, stress, and long hours.
Honestly if they'd just gone into real estate and had a managing company make sure the property and tenants were taken care of that would have been easy passive income of thousands every month and that's just like a couple houses if you keep getting houses all over the country they could make millions
The funny thing is.. they probably could have even had success in the "quick and easy" route if they just would have accepted the fact that they are a kid channel and their fans are children. If Austin wasn't so desperate to be "cool", and they had focused on their actual audience, they could probably be doing very well right now.
I honestly feel so bad for their kids. To have parents like this?? This will definitely affect them in the long run
I got hit my a car at 8, and got settlement money. My Mother spent 90% of it before my Grandparents forced her to put away the rest. I think about how much that money could have helped me through university, a down payment for my first house, my wedding or even an inheritance for my own children. It took me years of therapy to get over the betrayal I felt. Those poor children are still being traumatized/exploited and will very likely not see a cent. When these children are old enough the resentment and betrayal they are going to feel will be devastating.
Not only that, this kids are the reason their parents have money in the first place. The money should be theirs, not the parents. Imagine being exploited by your parents before you are even born, and instead of your parents taking care and investing money on you and your siblings, they just blow it off

Happy birthday! Can't be sued for what is written in a law suit, it is considered privileged so you can be a shady as you like and not be sued for defimation! (Obviously cant outright lie as the other partywill reply to it and just say its not true) As Emily D Baker says, law suits are allogations and shade :)

@@poppyseed5270 no one here thinks they are qualified to practice law by watching a youtuber. Nor did anyone say that or are offering "legal advice" in any way (Emily doesn't either.) so your assumptions are a bit off. As well as your insults being just downright uncalled for. If you notice in this video, he asked if anyone knew if the allegations in a lawsuit would affect said lawsuit. (And never once mentioned the person who answers must be qualified by holding a law license) The answers were justified and informative to aforementioned creator.

Jarvis isn’t saying Austin did the things, he is saying he was accused of doing things. Jarvis didn’t lie. Austin has been accused of all those things. No defamation.
Apparently, he leases the cars. That means he can't own them unless he pays a considerable sum. I'm waiting for the day he has them taken.

@@thekmonkey101 agreed! You basically pay 50% of the sticker price to use the car for 2-3 years and then have to give it back.

@@jax422 that's not how leasing ONLY works. You actually can finance the rest of the car and keep it. So you don't HAVE to give it back if you don't want too, and by the time you pay down that amount with the low amount of mileage the vehicle has often times your in a positive equity situation considering the residual value. Also you have to consider that you virtually don't pay ANYTHING in terms of maintenance only oil changes because during that time the car is under warranty. So depending on the vehicle you can come out ahead. I know out of the times I've leased (4 times) I've always came out with equity and didn't really lose anything. Also when you own your own business you can actually use the car as a tax write off.

Exactly also Austin’s parents each separately have filed for bankruptcy in the past. Also His dad filed for it more than once

to answer your question from 3:07 I just so happened to take Media Law this semester but that’s the ONLY background I have on this topic so bear that in mind- but in order to sue for defamation or libel I believe it has to be something that was published, so I’m not sure if you could sue based on a court document. The main elements of a defamation case are that it was published, the person who is being accused was clearly identified, the person experienced damage to their reputation or career because of the accusations, that the accusations are false, & that the defendant was clearly at fault. soooo since it wasn’t something that was publicly published, I don’t think you could sue for defamation here. plus Austin would have to go through each of those allegations and prove that they were false in order to win the case. & since he is a public figure he actually has to prove more than what a private citizen would. anyone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong or add on

Because you're (subjectively) 'famous' your trial is more important and held to higher standards than SET legislation for the poor....
Whether it is written or spoken it is either defamation or slander - not much difference really.
Just because it is 'publicly published' (whatever that means) does not prevent you from being actioned against for defamation.
(EG. New York Times headlines that Elon Bezos-Gates is a p*dophile!)
Remember, defamation is the 'civil' or 'impugned' side of what could be a potential criminal offence.
Defamation, etc, isn't necessarily or limited to 'accusations' so to speak.
It is all very complicated.
And unfair.
And litigious.

@@AlBundyOz I know it’s not just limited to accusations, I was just using that word specifically relating to what this video is talking about. I’m pretty sure that defamation is more of a blanket term- what I mean by that is libel and slander are both defamation, but libel is written defamation and slander is spoken defamation. also I’m not talking about being “famous” vs “poor,” there are specific legal terminology and classifications for citizens. Public figures and private citizens have to prove different things in defamation cases. There are three categories of public figures- elected officials, limited-purpose public figures, and all-purpose public figures. I’m not going to explain the legal definition for all of them but you can look into it if you’d like. I apologize for my not-so-eloquent wording, I just don’t feel like putting that much effort into a CZcams comment lmfao- it’s more of a flow from my brain rather than an essay I’m trying to put together for school. you must have really misunderstood what I was saying because I said that in order to sue for defamation, the “defaming” information must be published somewhere- the easiest example being a website article or something like that. since this is a court document, it’s something that people can request access to but it’s not like a person or platform posting it for their audience to view.

What's written in lawsuits are typically just allegations and shade per EDB. So those allegations and shade likely won't play a part in the proceedings, just gives the parties the opportunity to shade each other. Some of them are spicy with what they bring up in the lawsuit paperwork. this included.. but they don't neccesarily have to be fact in order to be written..
I belive 90% of it to be real bc it's Austin and his actions don't surprise me anymore. Leaving room for exaggeration.

Re: the defamation question, the example of rape is used as a means of highlighting that Austin is of questionable character. It’s included in a list of allegations previously made against Austin and isn’t presented as fact. As a result, it’s likely not considered as a defamatory statement.
