I read a post by a lawyer about specifically what you are saying.
The lower circuit judges must always make sure they have a train of logic for every argument going on in their court unless a legal argument is considered de-facto 'frivolous'. To not do so means a judgement may be overturned on appeal and it is a black mark on the judge's record.
This means the appellate court above the circuit must tell the lower level judges where they can summarily judge an argument as frivolous. Only now at this late date are appellate courts starting to do that regarding all the sovcit nonsense 'arguments'. In the grand scheme of things the SovCit arguments are new and have been brought about by internet availability by pretty much everyone.. (new in this case means no more than 10 years).
The wheels of justice turn slowly, but they do turn.

Retired trust attorney here: Putting your property into a trust, irrespective of whether it is revocable during your lifetime or irrevocable, does NOT mean the property is exempted from common law, criminal law, statutes, taxes, contract (such as a pre-existing car loan), or liability for tortious behavior. Modern trusts are civil law mechanisms that allow the transfer of property rights of both personal and real property without the need for probate. That are akin to corporations in that they exist separate from the person creating them, lasting after death of the trustor/settlor in order to hold, manage and eventually distribute what becomes trust property. John D Rockefeller created the first American trust in 1882. When trusts evolved to create strangleholds over various business sectors (monopolies), laws were passed to break them open aka “trust busting.” None of the nonsense spouted by Sovcits is actually good law.

Traffic laws are near the top of the list of laws that ordinary Americans(/Canadians/etc.) come into contact with most frequently. There aren't very many other legal provisions that most folks need to abide by-and are at risk of being stopped, questioned, and conceivably cited for violating-on a daily basis just because of our ordinary routine.
So when you have a group of people who have deluded themselves into believing that laws don't apply to them unless they *want* those laws to apply, vehicle and driver registration statutes and ordinary traffic codes are going to be the focus of conflict on a very regular basis.

confiscate his car for goodness sake otherwise he will just keep driving it illegally. Yes sovturds driving you are also travelling but only if a passenger. Learn the meaning of words, Driving means the control and operation of a motor vehicle or a horse and buggy. Travelling means the action or activity of going from one place to another, typically over a distance of some length.

I'm sure anyone reading this is smart enough to know sov cit nonsense never works, but one particular comment by the defendant irks me. After the judge became irritated at the defendant, defendants says that the judge is supposed to be an "unbiased arbiter of law, and the judge clearly isn't." That's protecting defendants against prejudice, notice the prefix, "pre." If you act like a moron in the court room, on the record, the judge is completely within their power hold your antics against you. That's not bias, that's not prejudice, that's judgement, something the judge is completely within their power to make, hence the name, judge. If the judge had found you guilty because of something you allegedly did outside of court, like say you swore at her at a restaurant, that could be bias. You asking irrelevant questions, repeating irrelevant questions, bringing up nonsense concepts, and essentially attempting to trick the court, while on the record, that's all fair game for the judge to consider.

    Bwahaha!
The context (and abruptness of the invocation) is crucial, but with that said, "I plead the Fifth" has got to be the FUNNIEST thing I've ever heard a SovCit say in court.
"You want to know where I *registered my name?* I plead the Fifth!" That's gold!
...Otherwise, while I appreciate Judge Appel's staunch rejection of the defendant's SovCit inanities, a few of her off-the-cuff responses are a bit beside the point:
    - @7:42: "It's a civil infraction. He doesn't need a warrant. You're not charged with a crime"-those are all accurate statements, but the middle one isn't (as she implies) the consequence of the other two. Even if Stubblefield WERE charged with a crime, the officer wouldn't have needed a warrant to arrest him for that crime on the side of the road. That's not what arrest warrants are for.
    - @8:26, in response to the hilarious invocation of the Fifth: "This isn't a criminal case." Defendants and witnesses absolutely *can* invoke their Fifth Amendment rights in a civil proceeding. Stubblefield doing so in this context is totally bonkers, but not because it's a civil case.
