2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R Gen 1 First Ride

- Hi Guys and Girls.
Thanks for pulling into the channel! Today we have a 2014 KTM Superduke R on the first ride, I took this immediately after riding the 890.
The Gen 1 Super Duke is an absolute beast!!! This is without a shadow of a doubt the most fun bike I have ridden to date, smiles per miles were through the roof!!
I did find that i had a hard time getting to the rear brake and shifter, being pre-owned i think this bike’s ergonomics were changed around a bit to fit the owner.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the pro-taper bar vs the stock bar? I really liked the position that the pro-taper put me in.
I hope you guys also find the audio okay, this bike was insanely loud with the full SC project exhaust system. I definitely wasn’t prepared.
This is a motorcycle I would recommend everyone rides at least once in their life. It is really unfortunate that I did not manage to get a video of the S1000R ride, the difference between the two is immense.

If you're that impressed by the noise then it's louder than you expected and you thought about a baffle😂..... And because the SDR is ALWAYS louder than expected🥳

I bought one last year. Absolutely no regrets. Previous bike was gsxr 1000k5...the SDR is an animal.
My brother bought this bike from Raceworx about a week ago. I had to ride it down to Phalaborwa from Pretoria for him.

Cool video. Would you still consider this bike a good bike to purchase ? I’ve always liked the look of the 1290 performance and riding position look great from what I can see I have sat on this bike but never rode it also I’ve been looking at the 14 plate as I know I won’t be riding everyday just wanted a little bit of feed back to know is this still considered a beast even at 9 years old thanks 🙏
im in the process of buying a 2015 superduke R - 3,600km - lower the Kilometres the better
I would buy this beast if there's no electronics at all. I mean all, I want the throttle body manually operated by cables. It sucks the weakness is the 'sophisticated' stuffs.
Switch TC off and ABS?

Decatted they make too much noise, I put mine back on.
I think I would agree with you if I rode everyday or far out.
