Cool video. Would you still consider this bike a good bike to purchase ? I’ve always liked the look of the 1290 performance and riding position look great from what I can see I have sat on this bike but never rode it also I’ve been looking at the 14 plate as I know I won’t be riding everyday just wanted a little bit of feed back to know is this still considered a beast even at 9 years old thanks 🙏
If you're that impressed by the noise then it's louder than you expected and you thought about a baffle😂..... And because the SDR is ALWAYS louder than expected🥳

Great video! Just bought 1290 couple weeks ago. Now just waiting to snow melt. I'm kinda scared tho, never drove anything bigger than 450cc.
Congrats !!! Just stick her in rain mode for a couple of rides until you’ve got the just of it. The electronics on the modern bikes make it super easy to ride if you take it easy. Definitely a big jump though 😂 let me know how it goes.

Congrats on the new 390!! They offer so much, I’d love to ride one of the new ones. 890 would make a great upgrade !!! The new electronics packages on these bikes is insane and goes alone way in keeping things from going pear shaped

Good video on the fence purchasing an 890 Duke concerned about reliability currently own a Suzuki GSXR 750. Looking for something my upright.
Here in SA we have a ton of dealer support, 5000km in on the 1290 with no issues so far. Also have a mate with a 790 with 20000km trouble free. The MT09 is another good option, the gen 1s are a little Raw but super fun to ride.
My brother bought this bike from Raceworx about a week ago. I had to ride it down to Phalaborwa from Pretoria for him.

I would buy this beast if there's no electronics at all. I mean all, I want the throttle body manually operated by cables. It sucks the weakness is the 'sophisticated' stuffs.

i dont think the cops really care much about videos......everyone is blurring their speeds except top content creators, they would have a hell of a time prosecuting and frankly were just not important enough to worry about i have a 22 model and its a pretty sick bike though
It really is a pain to blur the speedo every time you go over the limit, takes a ton of time. Our judicial system here in South Africa is so broken and skewed that they are more likely to prosecute me for speeding than they are to go out and do the hard work. Do you have the track pack on your 22'?
@@64degreesoflean that really sucks, cant beleive they would track you tubers down and drag em into court.....here a lawyer would get it tossed pretty quickly i would imagine .....too many variables yeah i have tech pack which comes with everything.....its a better value and tbh i dont think i would want the bike without it.......run it in track mode full time, just cleaner running and can use lower rpms and still have ton of torque.......use it for exact opposite of what someone would think. lol
