    I have twin 9 year old boys both have ASD since they were 2. One of my sons also has anxiety. We have noticed it the most if something is different in his regular routine. It really shows if unexpected guests stop by for visits and he doesn't like when other people sleep over in his house. He has never been able to go for sleep overs at his Grandmas like his twin brother does. Vacation trips are a lot to just prepare him. He isn't on and medication for this. Beginning of a new school year is so hard especially if he doesn't know who his teacher will be or his EA. We have just been preparing him the best we can for whatever situations come up also any doctor visits are the hardest with him. We have been talking to his pediatrician regarding this but medication hasnt been brought up as of yet. I am hoping as he gets older things will get better for him. Loved your video I will check out some more of yours for sure.

    Hello there! I want to try meds in my 4 years old. She has so much rage it’s very hard. I also have issues with my son, he is 11 he barely listen to me. Both ASD. My daughter gets extremely active and my son is the opposite. My daughter is sensory seeker for the most part, my son is very avoidant. They both have speech delays.
    I believe I have ASD, I’m 41. I never had speech issues, just communication problems, anxiety disorders, repetitive behaviors, behavior issues (problems regulating my emotions), sensory avoidant for the most part (noises are the worse), socialization issues and a lot more. Ive been very naive. I used to run away from my parents and hide. I was diagnosed with ptsd, anxiety, depression in the past.
    I wasn’t raised in USA. I was raised in Latin America. I have a psychiatric history. My parents didn’t know what to do. I strongly believe I’m autistic. I’m still struggling with my executive function and the previous mention. I need help, I need assessment.
    When my daughter goes all crazy like that I want to disappear, loud noises kills me. I’m under constant stress. I’m alone with my kids and no rest. I want to try full spectrum CBD oil.

    Hello i have a 10year old autistic daughter. She was diagnosed when she was three due to her not socilizing and very sensitive to noises or crowd. She didn’t talk much used to do echolalies (repeat what you would say) and run of very often. Fassed forward from 5/6 yo she started talking much better as she started socializing. But sadly my father in law passed away a year ago this month and she had a strong bond with him. Her anxiety hit in from then specially evening times sweaty hands fear heart beating fast fifthy thousand questions some with no sense. I bought her a heavy blanket and that worked wonders she has also in her room lights ceilinglike the sky. All this has helped she has improved but is still here.
    She has a bad time being away from me and asks me how long will i be out? Or can’t anyone else go instead of me?
    I talk a lot with her but she says herself she doesn’t know why it happens.

    Thank you for your video. My 13 year old son was recently diagnosed with ASD and the trigger for diagnosis was that he developed a severe anxiety attack. He started talking non stop and I had to put him on medication. Until last month I thought he was a normal child with just a few quirky behaviours. So I am still reeling from the shock of his diagnosis and his totally abnormal behaviour which was absolutely sudden. May I know what the allergic medication which helped your son is?

    My son is 3. He was diagnosed with autism level 3 and SPD when he was 2. The thing that alarms me the most is his anxiety in the car. He freaks out if I make a turn that he doesn’t know. We have to go the same routes that he’s familiar with or he has a meltdown in the car. Can you tell me your perspective on this?

    • @marybarbera
      @marybarbera  Před 2 lety

      You may have to work with giving him visuals of where you are going and think about ways to prevent this behavior if you have to go a different way. Often complains that he is confused on normal situations and doesn’t know what do to, often cannot choose one thing out of two (wants both mostly). My friends all know I’m autistic. They know the signs of me having a panic attack and are very kind. But everyone is different I have some autistic friends that literally can’t handle things I do. And vice a versa. So the only advice I have for you is to care for your child no matter what. And know that everything will work out in some way. We are people just like you.
