On a side note, this song hits hard for me. I'm a homeless veteran and I'm moving into an apartment next week. But it's hard to transition to the civilian world. With that said, this is why FFDP will always hold a special place for always having our back.

bigmoethedon homeless doesn’t have to mean living on the streets. They could possibly be living with family or friends or couch surfing with no place to call their own. Public libraries have internet, hell, lots of places nowadays have public internet. So just because someone is homeless doesn’t mean they aren’t connected.
@@BGCoop79 then don't say homeless just say you don't have a place of your own. I've been homeless and I'm a veteran. Had no access to internet. Really homeless people can't take baths like they want and alot of public places don't want you in their establishment if you're stinking up the joint.

Gets me too! Our country is failing our America soliders! Makes me really mad for a few reasons, 1. My grandfather was in the Korean War and does have a moderate form of PTSD but he is still alive and kicking at the age of 90! 2. These men and women gave their lives and we can't make sure they have shelter and a way to make a living in civilian life?! It's so sad that veterans are killing themselves off one by one cuz they have NO ONE! F Biden!
When I played this at work a couple years ago, a coworker called it satanic because of the lyrics “wrong side of heaven and the righteous side of hell”. I was so disappointed in them.

It's amazing what people have to go through just being in the military. My first touch of emotional back in 91 was having to guard a brother in the rear for near 3 days after being cut in half by track. So he could say goodbye... People just don't know...
Thank you, I'm a veteran. And have PTSD. You will not find a greater comrodery among people than those you served with. These brave men and women lay their life down for each other. We are dependant on each other. And when a brother is lost who you know his first defence is to protect you . Because they put you first. And when they die in a fire fight. You come home always ready to engage in a fire fight. Because that is how you lived. Wake up go to work, and lose someone who has your back more than anybody you have ever met. And they are gone. And you ask constantly, why them and not me. If America would just get their head around this and understand we live with that daily. You don't have time to process the death someone you know had your back better than your wife. And are gone. That is love. The Bible says , No greater love does a man have for his friends, than he lay down his life. Alot of friends laided down their lives. And are gone . The holiday Veterans day should not be a day were we let Government , state , and bank officials have the day off. It should be a day were Veterans are paid and have the day off if they work. And for the homeless they should receive free meals and provisions for that day. Big shoot out to Denny's restaurants, and Home Depot. And there are a few others. Denny's gives a free meal. And has for years to all veterans. For years. Home Depot gives 10 percent off of all purchases. Year round. Why does the government and states get time off. They started the wars. Instead if those that served. The served deserve that privilege.

I think this one makes almost EVERYONE cry and if you don’t you are stronger than me & ALL the guys I know and related too. My cousin is a Marine and him and his bomb dog go first and this song wrecked him AND my best friend who is a green beret and served MULTIPLE HARD tours and fought The last 3 or 4 wars we have had and not counting all else. He was always on the 50...... thanks God both are still alive AND almost lost another dear Ranger friend who who was driving a humvee and ran over an IED.....he spent almost 2 years at Walter Reed BUT out now and working with our mercenaries cause he can’t adjust

14 years homeless brother. If it wasnt for my fellow veterans I might have never come back. I was content on dying alone deep in the woods. My brothers and sisters helped me find the courage to get back up.
The last scene breaks me every time. Four of my close friends joined the military and two of them cave back with a lot of mental troubles. I'm only still in contact with one of them currently and every time he needs something I'm there for him. Nothing I'm able to do for him even remotely compares to what he went through in the Marines, but I'll be dammed if I ever let him end up on the street.

My dad was in the army and he was in 11bravo and he died in Iraq saving his fellow comrades 😭. I miss you dad 😭💔🕊️. So now I'm goin to enlist in the military to follow his footsteps after my 3 years of highschool
Everytime I hear this song, it brings tears to my eyes. I fight chronic PTSD every day after 3 deployments and I still consider myself one of the lucky ones for surving to retirement but I still struggle everyday.
I appreciate your sacrifice, and service. My husband is a former Marine, and a combat vet, as well. I have an undying respect, and love for each of you. Thank you for the sacrifice you have made, for so many people, you never met. A country that has forgotten.... I deeply appreciate your service. Be well, and many prayers.
There's always help brother. I'm at a program in Tennessee still working on shit. Lexington Kentucky has a great program for PTSD as well. This shit still makes me cry though everytime I hear it

PTSD isn’t exclusive to the military. I’m a submariner but I’ve never had PTSD. My heart goes out to anyone that has it, veteran or not.
PTSD has never been exclusive to military. I suffer from it from my time served, my girlfriend suffers from it from early childhood trauma. Trust that no vets would hold you at s different standard because of your PTSD being non combat related. If anything, we can relate and understand the side effects you're going through

Its worse than you could believe. The rest of my life I will be bed ridden and I cant hardly get help to just care for myself. Got serious spinal injuries in Iraq. Now im fucked the rest of my life.
When I first got out I had a hard time transitioning into the civilian workforce. I ended up almost homeless. My saving grace was a close friend who understood and let me stay with him while I got back on my feet. I’m all good now, but I know other vets that aren’t so fortunate .

I tried to go back in because I did not feel justified living the good life while so many of my brothers and sisters were fighting my fight. Yes, my fight. I couldn't go back because my health turned bad. I fight survivors guilt every day, knowing that my people were dying because I wasn't there to save them and watch their back. I'm not a hero, I just want my people back
My grandfather was a Marine. He spoke to me of this exact same thought. He suffered from survivor's guilt because in his mind, he wasn't able to do more to keep his friends and brothers-in-arms from dying. Just know Stephan, that like him, I am glad that you are still here. I am truly sorry that you don't feel justified to be here. You may not think yourself a hero, but you willingly dedicated your life (even to the point of giving it up if called to), and that makes you a hero in my book, and many others' as well. Thank you sir!
I feel that on a personal level because I have always been one who would lay my life down for others. That is why I myself have future plans to join the marines and I am only 14 years old but I have lost friends due to stupidity before not only that but to other people and I later went after the people who hurt and took my friends because it made me feel like I was honoring them whether I was or not is not my choice it is the people who have been lost their choice is what decides if I was honoring them I shall always be first to jump in to help a defenseless person or somebody that has problems I will gladly help whether I risk my life or not.and I know I will because I have done it before a friend of mine was going to commit suicide because of problems at home his mom overdosed and his dad stabbed him when he was five he never told anyone but me and he trusted me to keep that secret so that worse did not happen so I pushed him out of the way of a train and I hugged him till he realized that he was not doing the right thing. And I took him to his house and his dad was sober for once and came in with s knife saying "he was tired of the little shit" and he said I think you better go home before you end up with the same problem he will have and his expression two minutes later was worth it I woke up my friend and told him to run outside and go to his girlfriends house and he ran and I stayed behind and got cut six times when the guy pinned me to the hard wood floor and he slowly stuck the knife into my side expecting me to pass out I guess and bleed to death but I am a great actor he was so drunk he forgot that you pull the weapon out to let them bleed and so when I stood up a minute later his scared drunk expression when I shoved the knife in and out of his arm and leg was payment enough and wen I stabbed in his arm for the last time I slipped on my own blood and I stabbed him in the dead center of hid body and he started choking me and I stabbed till he let go out of instinct and he went limp and I was calm I told myself it was his fault and I took flower pedals from the floor and broken glass and put them on his corps and I still see him lying there now and I don't like it it gives me an uneasy feeling and when I walked to my friends girlfriends house he ran up and him and his girlfriend had to catch me because I had fell because my leg stopped because of strain and they took me inside and realized I was covered in blood and they knew what happened then my friend thanked me for saving him and I passed out for a second like eyes open dead lifeless is how they described me his girlfriends mom was a doctor or nurse I forgot and she asked me questions like do you need a hospital I could hear but not speak and honestly I hate hospitals because I have a bad past with them I sat up with cold eyes and a stern look on my face and said calmly no hospitals just stitch me up and I'll be fine she looked like she was about to cry she put her hands over her mouth as if to hold in puke and my friends girlfriend passed out I look down and I realize the broken glass was shoved in me and the knife blade broke off and was inside me and the mom puked all over the trash can as I pulled each of them out without showing a slight bit of pain and I handed them to her and she dropped them all when she saw that I didn't bleed from the wounds thy came from pulling them out and she asked me how and I am sitting there like what I though everyone was able to do this I had somehow stopped all blood from leaving my body from the posing and she said does it hurt and I looked and said no why and she is smiling at this point saying I have seen everything and I laughed and her and her daughter and my friend hugged me after I got stitched up and they asked how I killed my friends Dad and I told them and my friend puked because he didn't think I was being serious skip forward three minutes later I'm siting in the car seeing the extend to my pain tolerance I shoved a needle all the way through my arm without bleeding and was kinda freaked out but we went inside I showed them the body and we all buried it as to forget about it and since then I can't sleep well at night I wake up in a cold sweat about a nightmare of him killing my friend and then me killing him over and over again and I cry every night now so I guess I am traumatized if that's what you call having nightmares every night about the past but I haven't slept in a week as to keep from having that nightmare so I appreciate everything veterans have done to keep me safe as possible and I will save anyone I can if they need it

I was one of those homeless veterans living in my car for years struggling to find a purpose, and no one even noticed. Don't get me wrong I had a job but never a good one, and I don't do drugs. I hope this helps people open their eyes to the reality that is in front of them everywhere every day.

Navy here. I have people in my circle who experienced this. I have been fortunate enough to not have to go through this however there were certainly tough times. I served from 2017 to 2020 and it was brutal a lot 9f times but it was also amazing. I love my brothers and comrades all the same. Every vet deserves a chance. This song is amazing. Thanks Shaq

This is the best time since we're not at war but we do have stations in other countries to protect them. Same here as far as mental health. The VA gets a lot of crap, but I've received nothing but support from them. My twitches and nightmares were gone after the first year, so was my weird rocking back and forth in chairs. All I have now is what they call "hyperanxiety" and I call "just being prepared" - ie. sitting with your back to the corner, knowing where the exits are, being aware of your surroundings.

In the video, the black guy that helps the homeless one up mouths "Jacoby" that's his name (it shows it on his uniform earlier in the video when he gets shot) and then he mouths "you saved my life brother" because he was the one that helped him get out of the line of fire in the field. This video, and this band, are so appreciated for them using their platform raising awareness for these important causes. I lost one of my best friends in Afghanistan almost 12 years ago. Thank you to all of our veterans and also to our active military. You guys are always appreciated. ❤
As a sister to a Purple Heart combat vet that lost his leg in Afghanistan at 19 years old this hits me to my core! Watching my brother go through what he did when he came home will rip your heart out! We are able to sleep safe at night while they battle the worlds darkest demons! Pray for our veterans and their families!

Not only was the guy in the suit a vet, if you noticed in the beginning of the video, the white homeless vet saved the black suited vet's life.... So seeing him homeless probably hit that suited vet hard because he wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for the homeless vet.... SMH...
When that part is happening, if you're reading the lips of the black man trying to settle the homeless man down, you can see him say "You saved my life" to him, which is when it registers to the white guy - at that point - he's not under attack. PTSD has that level of disorientation to reality; that a friend trying to help you seems like an attacker... Truly heart-wrenching, and something we should all aspire to help in any way we can.
Your right, but even more than that those guys shed the same blood and are brothers out there no matter their skin color. They are brothers.

In regards to calling God “she”, there’s a strong belief that God here is America. She needs the vets to defend her and they hold her up as a deity. But she also has put them through a lot and left them unrecognizable from who they once were. As a vet myself (who thankfully didn’t see combat directly) I feel this so much. Thank you for this.

As a Veteran, Sir, I thank you very much for bringing this to attention. I was near homeless myself but l was able to stay up with the help of some down ass homies and limited family. This is a real issue and i want to say that you have earned my respect 100%.
As for the end of the song,the businessman that saw the homeless veteran was also the soldier said homeless veteran saved in combat. In the video he mouths the words "you saved my life". Thank you so much for the video and i look forward to many more. 🇺🇸
He didn't just understand, those homeless people shown were the soldiers in the video before becoming homeless. They fought arm to arm and pulled eachother out of the firefight. That guy with the beard was the one shot in the soldier, the black man fought beside him and he ran into him whole being homeless and helped him out. They were brothers. It showed how one person can be homeless after the military was their whole life while the black guy was one of those that served to help pay for college, he came back and went to school and got a great job. It showed the differences between what can happen to people. Every single homeless guy in the video was shown fighting WITH eachother in the same Unit.
I was a Military Wife for over 20 years. Thank you for bringing the attention that our Veterans Need. Each of these Men and Women sacrificed their lives for ours so we may live in the Land of the Free. I strongly support "Actions speak louder than words". It is our duty as American Citizens to help in any way possible to make a Veterans life easier. Help them with the VA paperwork for claims, Take a Veteran to a Dr. Apt, Invite them over for Holidays so they are not alone, Gather resources and call them for the Veteran in need, and just show them they are loved

Been watching your "new metal head" videos all day, found you thru a friends FB post. Thank you for this video, I've listened to 5 Finger Death Punch, but never knew they put this song/video out. I served 12 years in the Navy, my wife did 20. Both of us were very lucky and came out unscathed for the most part. A lot of our friends did not. I appreciate your heartfelt sentiments. Keep doing what your doing, it's been fun! Couple of things you and I share, is the love of "true lyrics and music" and being open minded-military taught me that-of culture, music, religion, whatever. 🤘🏼Rock on, brother!

I served veterans as a Nurse at a V. A. Hospital for 32 years before retiring. It was an HONOR and a PRIVILEGE to do so. Nothing is closer to my heart than care and support for veterans issues. No amount of "thank you's" could ever repay what they have done and continue to do for this country. It is a shame, an embarrassment and a travesty that our government officials choose to ignore these sacrifices and contributions and instead line their greedy pockets with "incentives" and "donations" from big business to influence legislation. SPEAK NOW - FULLY FUND THE VA FOR OUR VETERANS' CARE!!!! LET YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATORS KNOW HOW YOU FEEL AND ASK THEM TO ALSO SUPPORT VETERANS ISSUES.
This is my wife's life work. She is a disabled army jag. Who has dedicated her life to helping other vets get help with the VA and Med boards. I am so proud of her. She amazes me everyday.

Im a United States Army veteran '04-'10 3 combat tours Iraq 05' Afghanistan 06-08. When a combat vet says "I got vouchers for hell, ive been there." Believe that we all react differently sadly our country has forgotten about the backbone that made this country so strong. When i got out i tried to do so many different things to numb everything out almost killed myself. Va prescribed pill cocktails to make you into addicts. Its hard to pull ourselves out it. But remember to all my other vets we're here for them, we're our brothers and sisters who didn't make it back memory. Hold on to that🥊🥊

I remember when I asked you to do this video, thank you . I am a disabled Veteran. I served in the Army and was a career soldier, I joined in 97' prior to the wars but ultimately deployed 6 times during my Army career. When I was finally medically released due to injuries it was a tough pill to swallow, as it is for many of us. Not only did I lose my job and career, I lost my independence (for a while) due to my injuries, my community (because after being in for so long you realize that the military and the civilian world are two completely different worlds, they speak a different language, have a different value system, subscribe to different laws and justice system, the hierarchy is different, the way you interact with people is different and lastly, I hadn't even shopped in a civian grocery store in about 15 yrs) But the one thing that affects all Veterans the most when we get out is feeling "Lack of purpose". Whether we feel like we don't fit into our families any more, or society, sprinkle any PTSD or anxiety order on top of that and it's disaster in the making. Now going on 10yrs later, I'm a therapist that specializes in working with combat Veterans who suffer from PTSD and reintegration issues, however, I still have and always will have my own crosses to bear like the rest of us.
Jl Melrose, much respect to you and all you do. I never been in (the branch I was looking into missed ASVAB score by a few points, then ended up getting accepted into college in the mid 90s) , so I can not relate to some of these issues that a lot Vets go through, however, it does give me a sense of pause when I see a homeless Vet on these streets with no place to lay their head. I mean no one should be living on the street regardless, but a Vet though? It really upsets me to no end. These men and women, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters. Someone's family gets thrown into a situation in some Godforsaken foreign land, often times not knowing the entire backstory as to why and those who are fortunate enough to make it out alive come back home to half-hearted welcomes, in some instances snide remarks or just blatant rudeness. I am not saying this is the case all the time, but when your home don't truly have your back when you return, there is something wrong with that picture. I remember hearing about a Dr. in Texas, I believe it was -- he worked with Vets mental issues, yet he had been diagnosed with PTSD some time prior. This guy end killing a handful of people before killing himself at his location of employment. I want to say this about 3-5 years ago. So, that even raised a bigger question in my mind. Who helps those Vets that helps Vets? From the bottom of my heart thank you for the services you provided and now currently provided.
Iam_LawrenceP your speaking about the incident that happened at Ft. Hood several years ago. It was indeed a terrible thing. To answer your question, we have a saying, all good therapist, have good therapist. I also split half my time doing a lot of non profit work, on the admin side and volunteer with organisation's who deploy doing disaster crisis mental health; this conquers two objectives for me,,,,1. It changes things up for me and keeps me busy and engaged in different aspects of my job. 2, My PTSD manifest in two main ways, night terrors and Agoraphobia- or the fear of the outside world ( or living outside my home). It wasn't like that at first, just your basic triggers, however, an abusive marriage to a fellow soldier with his own issues and finally the unexpected and very early death of my PTSD Service dog put me in a dark place for a while. However, when I got involved with these other organisations it forced me to face my fears and I truly enjoy the crisis work ( ex.Huricane Sandy, Harvey, Hati) When I advocate for Veteran's groups as opposed to the VA it is because I truly believe we are our own advocates. When we started coming come messed up, the military dumped us in droves on a then illequipped VA System that was overwhelmed and failed us in every way. They are just now getting to where they should have been 10yrs ago and that's still behind. So all of these Vet run organisation's, Vets helping Vets, that is the future. That is what is getting us through. Also, count your blessings every night that your ASVAB score was too low, fate is real. You have the empathy and the education, now do something about it. Even if it's just a small thing. And thank you, have a fantastic 2019. ✌️🤟

nice work. I never deployed, I entered during the gulf war and am 100% in cali. Sad here is I never got a job, counseling assistance etc etc i been denied every program. My gi bill was stolen, no support no relocation training or transitional. In california I was told if I work I lose my benefits. To this day I regret living in this country as a veteran.

When I came back from the war, I lost everything. I lost my family and I was looked down on. I spent a year homeless, not because I didn’t have family to help but, it was due to me not being able to reintegrate to society. Please be patient with us
Also, veteran suicide is a very real thing. Help is hard to find when you have to wait for a month to get in to see a doc at the VA
I've recently joined your channel and I have found myself watching all your videos. It's crazy to see how far you have come. I just want to say as a Veteran it felt good to hear you react to this. We need to not just thank Veterans for their service but ask them if they need anything. Even the little things that make life livable can mean the world to Someone who is suffering. Just being away from family is a sacrifice our Veterans make for us. So we shouldn't have to be shamed into providing for our Veterans!

Thank you for doing this song! Many on both sides of my family served (army - marines and navy) some came out relatively fine, while others were beyond broken.. It points out the sad truth that many are not being cared for like they should be and it’s heartbreaking beyond words. Thank you so much for showing love to all of us who have family or friends who deal with this issues or those who didn’t make it back, and much love to all still serving❤️❤️ You are not forgotten and are loved, never forget that

I just found your channel this morning and have been watching it for 3 hours straight. I really appreciate you for doing this video man. My pops is combat veteran and so am I. Both of us were in the Navy. He was a Seabee (combat builder) and I was a Corpsman (medic). He was in Bosnia, Somalia, and Desert Storm. Served 18 years before injuries caught up to him and they let him go. I served 3 years during Iraq/Afghanistan before I broke my neck and was discharged. Spent 2 years homeless from 2012-2014. This song really hit home for me. Thanks for showing some love and respect dude
