Amazing sports clips, I see where you’re coming from. Victorious was good, but I’m probably the only person in the world who hates iCarly. The jokes are lame and they’re always doing dumb things...I guess that’s what makes it entertaining. Sam and Cat was fine, nowhere near victorious, but not that bad. I know you’re probably confused on why I dislike iCarly, but try and see why I think that. Anyways, all of these shows are garbage compared to his nineties shows...but to each his own.

Season 2 onwards is when Josh completely embraced his sarcastic side and the show went from good to amazing. First ep was definitely a weirder one, but when their brotherly relationship evened out more, theirs became such a great dynamic to watch

i liked the pilot...it went in directions i did not predict or assumed which is rare for kids sitcoms or sitcoms in general...like no one could of predicted the direction this pilot goes in after the first 1/3rd...its bonkers how josh ends up fighting the bf and the girl falls back in love with him after he knocked out this innocent boy who got mistaken for her adultery...and drake helping josh was a nice capper....drake learned something felt guilt and helped his new step bro...accepting him as such...

For me, it started with "All That". Some of the cast got their own shows... (Kenan and Kell, The Amanda Show, Zoey 101)
Drake and Josh first appeared frequently on The Amanda Show and eventually got their own show. Victoria Justice was on Zoey 101 and eventually got her own show "Victorious". Miranda Cosgrove was Megan on Drake and Josh and... eventually got her own show "iCarly".

Edit: I really didn't think of race when I commented this. And remember this is a show from the early 2000s, they would never say something "like the hottest girl in school" and have her be black. They don't even do that now. It's a harsh truth. The black characters in shows like these were always reduced to "main characters best friend/sidekick"

Are we gonna to ignore the fact that this is one of the only shows that Schneider made that has male protagonists? Most of the others had a female protagonist, and that seems a bit suspicious considering his reputation.

It's also interesting that Josh is Jewish and resembles Schneider (not literally) if you notice he usually has someone with this profile in some of the other shows that isnt a main character and isn't universally attractive to all members of cast or is bad with girls. I've seen this in Zoey 101, victorious and sam and cat.
If Josh maintained his season 1 weight through to season s4, he'd resemble shnieder a bit more. Also the hairstyles they gave him. So that could be why. There was also that issue where one of the main characters in zoey 101 had to kiss someone who looked like shnieder. He seems to like to throw a character visually similar to himself on his shows

Exactly and I actually never watched Drake and Josh but I watched ICarly and Victorious and Sam and Cat and I was planning on watching my childhood shows I watched on Nickelodeon plus I was gonna watch Drake and Josh but since the documentary came out it wouldn't be the same watching my childhood shows anymore.
You know, seeing this episode again makes me feel bittersweet. Bitter in the sense that it’s hard to see how much Drake declined and fell off after the show, to the point of now being a felon. On the other hand, sweet to see that not only has Josh matured so much, but he’s literally a stud now, he’s married, and seems like he’s living a great life now. He very much learned not to live in the shadow of the show while Drake could never escape it.

The episode did in fact make perfect sense. People choose to approach it in the wrong way.
i think he meant theres too much going on that does not connect fully or the writers did not put enough effort into making it all flow well and make the audience connect to the themes...not that it does not make sense....it does seem a bit bloated for a pilot...like the whole josh fight vs the bf and him coming into their home and threatening josh is very uneeded and just clutters the entire episode with nonsense so the girlfriend can fall back in love with her bf despite her being the liar and that fight can be fixed with her telling the truth..but she just doesn't and josh does not say much and drake is mum so josh instead of telling a teacher chooses to just get beat up?..hu?....its random and very sitcomy for comedy/drama...not how people actually behave...thats a big negative i agree structurally...it adds nothing thematically..its just random humor/drama.....its not set up well or paid off in an interesting way narrative wise...the right way to paint that scene is drake is about to tell the truth in the kitchen cause his lie is falling apart about who cooked the dinner and how he knows what she likes aka reading the messages she sends to ms. nancy then the bf barges in grabs josh then drake is about to tell him the truth then josh seeing drake stuttering becuse inside he is scarred to tell the truth in fear of being denied in the moment aka courage bravery in the moment thus josh stops him from speaking interupting him and takes the place of drake saying he himself is actually the one to blame and thus the bf threatens him and tells him to meet him at 3 after school then later a worrying twitching scarred upset drake stops the fight or takes the punch for josh and tells the truth in front of the school then after a cut we get the sweet scene of him encouraging josh to not wear a dress cause he has the good advice inside of him aka that last scene in their room ...then it flows better...makes more sense..and makes drake seem less like a jerk at the end who helps josh only cause josh helped him out of guilt to make him appealing to the audience..in my rewritten version drake is a nice guy and we like him because he earns it...not cause the show tells us to like him...he accepts his step bro...get it?

It also goes the other way because Josh gets better from Drake's high confidence. The girl is nothing but a plot device. Love your videos though, lol.

The reason this show was a hit, is because of the chemistry between Josh Peck and Drake Bell. They had one dialogue on "The Amanda Show" and the producer noticed how great they both together on screen. In fact, there are so many episodes in this show that are *specifically* Drake and Josh locked/stuck somewhere and just tries to find a way out.
