Poosh made a good point. For a realistic battle, the Soviet planes should be operating with a controller whereas the American planes would have an AWACS for the data link.
Seeing how complex DCS is as a system you are doing well to get anything underway.
Haters got to hate.
I want:
F-15c vs. F-16.
F-15c vs. Mig-31.
F-15c vs. Mig-29.
Please!
A night battle would be terrific especially these bvr fights. I don't care if I can't see anything you explain everything so I pretty much just listen to these fights. I think not being able to visualize the ground will bring another level to your videos.
CAP, a common “what if”, is what if the Germans had a heavy bomber at the start of the war like the Lancaster or B-17?
So how about doing a BoB scenario where German attackers use Lancasters and the RAF uses Spits and Hurris, then do it again with the Germans using B-17s? It would be interesting to see how well .303s do against those bombers, especially against the B-17s 50 cal defensive fire.
Later in the war, Lancaster 4 x 303 MG in tbe tail were replaced by 2 x 50BMG
This would be a good comparison.
I would love to see you guys do these BVR comparisons without the use of AWACs, so the aircrafts can compete with each other with their own electronic suites. (radar/ecm) Having AWACs in battle greatly benefits aircrafts that has DATALINK compatibilities for their AR F&F A2A missiles (AIM-120s/R-77s) etc
So does the world. That's why datalink exists, and the jets that have it are just better.
Thy are designed to operate in that environment, you might was well want to see how well they will operate without fuel, or radar.
"their own electronic suites are not designed to operate alone, it's just not reality.
The us planes are linked even without an awacs and have some of the most powerful and intelligent radar systems.
I'd like to see this kind of match with F-16C vs F-14B, BUT, I would like to have 2 separate best of 3 matches. One set with Jester as the RIO and one set with some experienced human RIOs. I say that for 2 reasons.
1. Because we all know that Jester can be just absolutely useless sometimes whenever he feels like it, so i think the human RIOs could balance that out and give a fair comparison.
2. Having a second set of eyes in the plane to help look for bandits while maneuvering as well as possibly have more tactial/situational awareness.
Hope that you can make something like this happen, for me, a valued viewer. Haha!
I will never understand the obsession with the f14, it was a silly thing when built (though admittedly OP, it was ludicrously expensive and insupportably complex to operate as a naval aircraft), and the answer to 'how Ould it do against modern aircraft?' is simple, it will get it's ass handed to it in a modern combat environment. thats literally why we bother to build new planes, because they kick the shit out of older planes.
@@charlesparr1611 Except that in the case of the F-14 vs its successor (the F/A-18E & F) that isn't entirely true, and it's been demonstrated repeatedly. The F-14 was WAY ahead of it's time, and had the Navy (or rather the DoD) stuck with it, many believe that it would have been a better platform for both A-A and A-G than what we went with. Granted, it was DEFINITELY the more expensive fighter.
My main reason for wanting to see it vs the F-16 is that the F-14 is the only jet that they would have tested so far that beats it in both radar detection range AND engagement range. The Phoenix isn't as good of a missile with regards to tracking a fighter size target as the AMRAAM is, but its extra range may put the F-16 on the defensive sooner and require the first major change in tactics for the F-16. They wont be able to fly high and rain down missiles anymore because if they try they will just get out ranged, kind of like what they have managed to do against every other adversary thus far. Also, the Datalink in the F-14 is actually pretty good, but it does require a different level of expertise to use it vs the F-16 which has probably the easiest Datalink to use of any other jet in the sim.
Cool to see the sukhois extensive heat-seeking capabilities put to good use in the first round! Although the combination of high-tech and speed the F16 offers is very hard to beat. I would like to see the F14 next, maybe over open terrain to really see what the phoenix can vs a modern fighter.
In the realm of guns only Dogfights I'd love to see--
J-10 VS SU-27
AV-8B VS F-35B
MIG-29K VS SU-33
F-86 Sabre VS A-10C Warthog
MB-339 Aermacchi VS MIG-15
P-47 Thunderbolt VS SU-25 Frogfoot
Mirage F-1 VS Panavia Tornado
F-111 Aardvark VS MIG-27K
Gotta love these bots.
Great example of very different assets being use to their strengths. Terrific show!
Any chance of another Birds and Bees? I love those, they look like fun to fly as well.
That second run was a shirtshow on not how not to do things, but lets see how this last mission plays out.
Look at the map cap, the number of black lines (contour lines) tell you how steep the mountains are. St Catherine is flat on the map.
This is literally my ever sortie when I fly on Sidewinders server. Trying to outrange US planes isn't a good idea. fly low use electro optical system more often than not and you will do well. Ugh, I actually couldn't watch yall do my flankers like that. lol There was so many missed kills because of not being familiar with the radar, but that's probably the largest obstacle to overcome when flying the flanker, trying to figure out their elevation on the radar. The optical system helps a lot with that too. PS thanks for putting me on to the Chainsaw tactic. That is very much worth the google. You guys always teaching me stuff. Good on you sir!
Great video, do y’all plan on doing the f-15?
Nice "Giggity" Simba!
@Cap Doesn't the F16 have a 'flight' TACAN?
cap can you incorporate a majestic unnecessary star wars style giant formation merge into a video
I honestly love the flankers, definitely one of my favourite family of aircraft.
Have you guys done Falcon vs Eagle before?
I would love to see Eurofighter vs F16 bvr
I know the f15e doesnt have datalink but still might be interesting in bvr with human wso in the f15e obviously if they merge then the f16 wins
How about the Mig-29, or would that be similar to the Flankers?
Problem with Mig-29 is is doesn't have a datalink, so becomes very weak in a battle like this.
@@grimreapers Ah, ok, well I tried to give you something to try...lol
Can u do a f15c v f15ex
Amazing vids keep it up
it sounded almost like Cap called the JF17 'jeff 17'. are grim reapers calling it jeff to distinguish from russian flankers? i hope so!
maybe the F15E or F15C next?
Why we don't have mod about railgun or laser weapon
Stressful mission for the SUs.
Bring the KING of BVR (non stealth) into the mix: the F-15
F16 vs Mig-29, or is the '29 a mod? hmmmm
34:39
Its a nice change of pace to see you trying planes you aint familiar with. Still love your big battles with land or sea assets. Russian planes and ordanance aint no joke.
F-15, gotta do it!
F-16 vs F-15. 104-0!
Such simulations remind of that they used table tops and computer simluation for making assumptions about how that "summer offensive" of Ukraine would work out.
And oh my, was it wrong.
To be fair, the Russians made similar errors of strategic judgements in the Ukraine war, especially during the first couple of months of the war.
Have you taken a look at the Russian offensives during this war? And there were quite a few. They didn't quite work out as planned on the map either.
Turns out attacking against a half-way competent enemy is very hard, much harder than pre-war operational analysis of both(!) sides would have suggested.
I won a 1 vs 3 Su27 vs 3 F16Cs. So ?
Do Ukraine Russia conflict 2024, once Ukraine has some F16, with a realistic battlespace and density
Is this just let cap win video cuz he's "the boss"? I admit there is a lot of planning to do long winded scenarios but me thinks this is just another Let Cap win cuz he has big fat one as he always says. I've been watching for about 6 months enjoying the work but started seeing a pattern. So I guess, I'll go back to Kittyhawk who wakes and bakes...
None of [GR] Cap's WarGames are scripted, so there's no "just another Let Cap win..." thing going on here. Another thing is that [GR] Cap is rather better at these BVR engagements than people give him credit for, so that may colour people's thinking on this.
@@grmatrix6358 the tough part when watching DCS videos is making sense of the actual fight. I mean, I see many always win so are they fighting lower skill levels? I read Cap stating he sets some scenarios up with expert level AI. The guys that "wake and bake" makes me wonder are they fight rookie level AI? Apologies to GR and Cap.
@@Lew_in_Renton No AI used in this particular WarGame, so performance is down to human participants. Of course there are different skill and experience levels amongst human participants, and Cap endeavours to balance this where possible, as he does in this WarGame.
@@grmatrix6358 I've watched maybe, I don't know, a full years worth of GR and GR2 (love the drum solo). I guess my questions are based on experience levels of "pilots" on DCS. I watched the Thrustmaster challenge and can tell those guys were "veteran" level. it's just hard to believe some of the videos out there with easy victories sometimes.
