    you forgot to mention, that the impress touch uses the Burrs from the new Baratza encore ESP wich is a really nice upgrade over the impress express! :)

      @@gosman949 I’m really enjoying it, I upgraded from a Delongi ECP-3420 to this. The machine during initial setup literally holds your hand and makes it super easy. Once you dial it in with the appropriate grind size any one is able to walk up and use it. My wife who never liked using the Delongi is able to walk over to it every morning and make herself a Flat-white with no issues.
      Super consistent machine, a little pricey but well worth it IMO so far.

    Besides cost, I picked the Express Impress bc it has a heated brew group, which, according to some, yields a slightly tastier shot than the touch, which does NOT have a heated brew group. Did you notice any difference in taste between the 2 machines?

      However, the fact that the touch impress nails it every time solidified my choice coming from the basic barista Express. After almost seven years of manual inconsistent pulls the touch impress' capabilities and features make it so easy and yet rewarding.

    it would be nice to know the weight of the coffee in the puck after the machine is happy with the coffee load. Nobody measured this and its consistency

    • @LifestyleLab_
      @LifestyleLab_  Před 7 měsíci +4

      That is because it will greatly vary based on the density of the coffee used. A dark roast could be as little as 15g, and light roast up to 20g.
      I tested consistency and it was within +/-0.5g

      Best coffee beans AREN’T at the supermarket. Find something local and freshly roasted!!

    • @CRP3252
      @CRP3252 Před 6 měsíci

      The ones found at the supermarket are stale although their expiry is in the future. What that means is loss in flavor properties and more CO2 release which result in bitter/sour tasting shots.

  • @takenoshortcuts
    @takenoshortcuts Před měsícem

    from my experience and looking at "1 star" reviews after having problems, I'd say Breville Expresso models are practically designed to fail around end of warranty. If before warranty ends, Breville can be hard to deal with. If after, buy a new machine. Not good.
    People exclaim "I'm already saving money" compared to going to coffee shop. Well, that won't be true if you have to buy another expresso machine every year or two!
    I like some Breville product but will not buy any more expresso machines from them. I'm going to german or italian makers. Less automated but last!

    • @LifestyleLab_
      @LifestyleLab_  Před měsícem +1

      When you sell as much volume as Breville does, there are bound to machines that fail early. Out of all the people who I know who own Brevilles, many of them are over eight years old and running perfectly fine.

    • @takenoshortcuts
      @takenoshortcuts Před měsícem

      @@LifestyleLab_ Ok. But based on my experience: 1) I'd rather spend $3k on a brand that will mostly likely last 10-30 years without fail than spend ~$1k and have a large risk of needing to replace it 5 or 15 times over the same period (and that's not counting the times that new Breville's fail within warranty and have to go back and forth to see if the consume gets one that works). 2) Breville has almost zero failures that can be repaired DIY. So when it fails, especially outside the short warranty, it's garbage. 3) I don't know a single person with a Breville expresso machine that claims it lasted "over eight years". Nor can I find a credible claim of surviving that long amongst 100's of reviews. 4) It's easy to find dozens of credible reviews about Breville expresso machines that failed between 6 months and 2 years of use. And almost none of those were happy with the Breville response.
