    I've had this machine for 6 months now and I love it, so glad I decided to spend the extra on the Touch Impress model. I usually use fresh beans but I was bought some non fresh beans and I found I couldn't knock them out the portafilter for some reason. I ended up having to use a blunt instrument to scrape them out, this was with the single and double walled insert. Not a big deal as I much prefer the organic fresh beans I have found from a local roaster that make the best coffee I have ever tasted. The weathers hot at the moment so I'm going to try doing a Caramel Frap tomorrow 🤤

    • @HaiTech
      @HaiTech  Před měsícem +1

      we make ice coffee with the espresso, so good. yes sometimes the old grounds come out easy and sometimes it takes a few knocks. do you use a knock box?

    • @beamer1001
      @beamer1001 Před měsícem +1

      @@HaiTech I don't have a knock box, in the uk we have food caddies that waste food goes in to be composted so I just knock it into that. It just strange that fresh beans come out with 1 knock every time but the older beans point blank refuse, I ended up knocking so hard the insert would fly out into the food caddy and I would have to fish it out. It could just be that brand of beans, like I said I usually stick to 1 brand of fresh.

    • @LoganScottY
      @LoganScottY Před 29 minutami

      @@beamer1001One of the main purposes of a knock box is to protect your portafilter. Banging it on hard surfaces like a waste bin will damage it over time. Highly recommend a knockbox so you can bang as hard as you like and not have to worry about damaging or being too loud thanks to the rubber.

    Do you think the Barista's are better than the DeLonghi Primadonna Soul? I'm trying to decide between the 2. Thanks

    • @HaiTech
      @HaiTech  Před měsícem +2

      while i can't really compare the 2 since I have not used the DeLonghi. I'm guessing you're referring to the Eletta Explore? I will say that the Breville is a semi-auto machine and the Eletta Explore is a fully automatic. If you don't want to mess with any manual settings, get a fully automatic. When I first started looking for an espresso machine i was going to go with a fully automatic. not exactly sure why I didn't, but maybe in the near future someone will send me one and i'll make a video on it.

  • @pamelawing5747
    @pamelawing5747 Před 2 měsíci +1

    Mine is going back tomorrow. I've had many Breville Espresso machines and this is not my cuppa AND the last few days it's been losing pressure and at this point it's useless. I DID buy the warranty at Breville but got the machine at William Sonoma and just got in under the 30day limit for returns so don't have to mess with Breville. I had the Barista Touch before this machine and that was a nice machine. I ordered the Oracle, the regular one. My brother has that machine and it's been great and the foam is fabulous. Each to their own, but for me, THIS machine is not great. I don't recommend or not recommend .
    I WILL say Breville needs to keep better trach of their product control. My last machine, the Barista Touch came to me DOA. The second one was fine but I DID have to send to down to LA (still under warranty thankfully) because the computer went ballistic.

    What are the noise levels when grinding? Could you tell me in decibels? Do you think it is annoying at 7:00 in the morning? Thank you for the content!

    • @HaiTech
      @HaiTech  Před 3 měsíci +2

      while i don't have a decibel reader the grinder is loud. if you still have other people in the house sleeping then you'd want to keep the doors closed. they can still hear it but it won't be as "annoying". or you can think of the grind as an alarm clock. if I hear my wife making a cup of coffee, i'm going to want one too.

      Get a separate grinder that's quiet. On the more affordable side is the Kitchenaid espresso grinder Model KCG8433ER ($) and it's grinding at 67db. That's pretty quiet.
      Also couple others such as the Niche zero ($$) is also low db as is Versalab M4($$$$) and Hedone Honne grinder($$$).

      still using it daily. we absolutely love it. i'm not a barista, just someone who wants quick good espresso. also i bought the machine with my own money. not sponsored video, but if Breville is reading this, email me! lol No problems so far. I've had it 8+ months.

    • @HaiTech
      @HaiTech  Před 2 měsíci

      What kind of beans are you using. Fresh or no? Use the filter that says Dual Wall for non fresh beans. If it’s going too fast then decrease your grind number by 1. Example if your grind is at 15, now try 14.

    Great video Hai. I am starting to look for my first real espresso machine and honestly cannot decide between this one you reviewed and the La Pavoni Europiccolo or even the semi auto LaPavoni. Please advise. I don't mind buying a separate grinder.

    • @HaiTech
      @HaiTech  Před měsícem

      i don't have any experience using the La Pavoni so i can not comment on it. The breville was my first espresso machine. i just want good espresso, latte, capuccino, and i drink hot tea in the winter as well. i personally did not want to mess with every single setting, take 15 minutes to make beautiful aesthetic espresso that no one cares for since it will be just my wife and i drinking. if i'm in a rush in the morning and i want coffee i want something quick and easy. in my search i was deciding between the semi auto Breville, and a fully auto from multiple other brands (philips being one). i decided to go with Breville, coin toss. I still use my breville daily and love it. Had i gotten the fully auto, i'm sure i would have loved it too.

      it's still sitting in my kitchen. we use it everyday. I use the instant hot water feature to mix it with cold water to make baby formula. we have been making ice coffee with the espresso shots. it's great to mix it up every now and then lol. haven't had any issues with it so far. I hope it lasts a long time as it's definitely not a cheap machine.

    don't you think that the espresso is too concentrated and too "ristretto", I am Italian and when you go to the bar you are more coffee in your cup. I bought it a few weeks ago, but i am not fully happy

    • @HaiTech
      @HaiTech  Před 3 měsíci +1

      are you using fresh beans or packaged ones from the store? try warming up the group head first. the taste is so subjective that I can't give you a definite answer. what tastes great to me may not be for you, or vice versa. If you are someone who likes to have control over every aspect of the espresso making process than this machine is not for you. you would want to go with a fully manual machine.
