Ive done this to all my blitz cans There is no need for the super glue The vent is designed to be leak proof You cut the hole too far up, for me at least, theres a squared off spot on every 5 gallon blitz can (below where you drilled) and there is a horizontal line that marks the center of that squared off spot. To help push the vent valve into the tight hole, you can push using a small board such that it concentrates the pushing pressure around a small area.

Make sure to use the 1/2 in bit. I pressed the vent plugs in with no problem. They fit perfectly with no leaks at all. Thanks for the vid.

My vent cap tether broke, so I need to replace the vent. super gluing in place could make that hard.
