haha I did. I'd rather have a big diesel than a big gas truck, gas trucks actually get pretty good mileage these days but for what I paid for my diesel vs what I would have got a gas. diesel gets way better mileage, then when you start towing the difference increases even more

I think you calculated this wrong i didn't want to go through and check it all but it sounded like you filled up first for 25 gallons which doesnt get added to your calculation... maybe i miss understood but you should start with a full tank and then as long as you end with a full tank you just add up gas fills during the drive so you would subtract the first 25 and add the full 9 at the end i think
Your math is wrong because your starting point and ending point on the fuel gage has to be exactly the same to get an accurate fuel measurement. The best way to do this is to fuel up before your trip to get to 100% in the tank, and that CANNOT be added to your fuel cost. Why? Because your driving before your trip doesn't count against it. When you're done at the end of your trip, fuel up to 100%. That way you're refueling to your starting point. Your last refuel CAN be added to your fuel cost because that was part of the trip. All your fuel once you start your trip and your last refuel is counted.

The tires are 33.6 but are probably 1/2 the width of your 35’ 37’. Tire friction also counts when comes to MPG. I also swapped to an 11.5 AAM with 3.42 gear ratio and I’m going with an NV5600 6 speeds. I did the Math and I should by riding at 75 mph at 1800 rpm. I’m hoping to get at least 25 MPG with at 75 MPH, we’ll see. What’s your setup like Rear axle gear ratio ? 6th Transmision gear ratio ? Tire size ? And how many miles per gallon are you getting with it ?

I am now sadden with those mpg. I have a stock 2000 2500 5.9 diesel 6 speed manual with 16" and the best I got was 18mpg. Of course I am always over 75mph and my truck has 458,000 miles. At 2000 rpm I am doing 75mph. Is that high rpm for that speed?
I get 21-23 mpg with my 98.5 24v with 4:10s and 16-17 pulling my gooseneck stock trailer and I like in the Rockies at 7-8k ft elevation. Even running 2200-2300rpm on trips empty I get 21mpg. Once you get overdrive fixed that should help a lot on the highway.
Fix the tranny and your mileage would be even better. I’m running 35’s on 17’s with newly installed 4:10 gears and I came up a lot in fuel mileage. My goal was to get the rpm’s close to stock, throw in a cam, turbo, exhaust, intake and small injectors I’ve been told 21 is achievable but I’m not sold. On the open road running 70 mph I can squeak out 19 mpg but I’m feather footing it. My EGT’s dropped way down after the cam was installed, about 550-620 worth every penny. I’m only running an Edge EZ , my goal was to set the truck up for towing my fifth wheel with out blowing stuff up. So far I’m extremely pleased with the way it drives. My 0-60 is FAF. Do the tranny man, it will pay on in no time. I held out too but when I finally got it done I was kicking myself for it building it sooner. Stock is GAY.

He did the math wrong he actually got 23.26 mpg. He calculated an extra fill-up from before he drove.

Miles drove divided by gallons used. I know alot of people with these trucks most of them get low to mid 20s mpg

My 2013 5.0 F150 gets 14 city and about 20 highway. Huge difference but it’s not horrible. Worst I’ve seen is 13.1 mpg. Best I’ve seen is 21.5 mpg.
