"The art of medicine". Yes. Something that has always stuck with me from my medical training is that diseases don't read medical books. Medicine can be difficult for so many reasons. Always communicate. Ask questions. This goes for parents and medical care participants (doctors, nurses, aids, lab, anyone involved in patient care)
Lol as an autistic adult, I LOVE the 6ft rule, no handshakes, and not having to hug people! I actually REALLY hope they stay things of the past! Or at least have it become socially acceptable to not participate in those things.

I always hated having to shake hands, even pre-pandemic, so I really hope they are a thing of the past. You don't know where the other person's hand has been prior to you shaking them. I'm pretty happy with handshakes not coming back, there are other ways to greet people, like waving and saying hi, bowing like the Japanese...lol
Yes, that is true- I worked in many Dr offices and there are screams of all kinds!. Mostly kids but you get use to it - but it can be alarming when other patients who come in hear that!

Certified 14 yr old and still TERRIFED AND TRAMATIZED from vaccines due to past but I still shed a tear and tense up and ask for a sticker in the end.

One of my reasons to become a nurse practitioner (specifically a neurological one) is because Doctor Mike made me realize that people can do both (also because someone close to me has Parkinson’s disease if you don’t know what that is I can’t really explain it so you would have to Google it)

The fear thing of thinking you did something wrong is also felt by other health practitioners as well. Not to the degree of malpractice like a Doctor who can literally...kill...someone. But that horrible gut feeling that you could possibly have done something wrong to a person is sickening. And the sweet, sweet releif when you realize they loved your treatment and all is well.
when i was in grade school and the teachers would ask "whos coming to pick you up?" I would always say " idk my mom is in the hospital and my dad is in prison" My mom is a nurse and my dad's a guard.

2:48 man when I was first diagnosed with cancer it took months and months of miss diagnosing to get the actual diagnosis and I was really angry by the time they did find it because it had already gotten to stage four and I was in so much pain and each time they were wrong but now that I’m able to think more clearly since I’m not in pain I did realize that doctors are people too and they’re not always first going to resort to oh this is cancer.

I recently bought a scent diffuser from Glade and the scent that comes out of it is SOOOOO one note, it’s sweet vanilla and makes my apartment smell like rice pudding 24/7. A coworker suggested I go to this natural health shop in the mall to find more complex scents. So, I did.
As soon as I walked in, the employee ran up with this black vial of essential oils and said “bend down, I’m gonna put a drop of this on the back of your neck, it cures migraines!” There was something so funny about that to me,
I love that Dr. Mike puts a shot of reality into everything shown, nope, I’m not a doctor but, if I had to work a 36 hr shift, I wouldn’t be driving home, I think I’d just live at the hospital to get more sleep instead of travelling back and forth.

When he was talking about the screaming it reminded me of something that happened to me as a kid.
I've had trypanophobia as long as I can remember and when I was somewhere between three or five, I personally don't remember the incident so I don't remember the year, but a doctor was trying to give me a shot, and I already had my mom holding down one of my arms and two other doctors holding down my other arm and my other leg, so when the doctor got on my leg to give me the shot in my thigh I freaked out and lifted her up off the ground. And she was pregnant at the time so she obviously was a little freaked out after I did that. But she got down and I got the shot.
“It’s child anxiety and normal to scream and be nervous at the doctor” I’m 25 and I’m still terrified of the doctors office. I guess I never grew up
