Doctor Reacts to BIZARRE Facebook Health Posts

- I’ve taken a look at disturbing health posts showing up everywhere from CZcams to TikTok, but today I decided to take a look at the source of a lot of the internet’s medical misinformation: Facebook. What I saw drove me up the wall. Quiet a baby by pressing pressure points? Heal muscle soreness by walking barefoot? The dangers of a red tongue?! Don’t believe everything you see in a Facebook video, and definitely don’t share it unless you can verify it’s TRUE!
I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

There's a little truth to the whole parts of the foot correlate with the body thing. My mom wasn't feeling great, but we went out for pedicures. The tech was massaging my moms feet and a specific part kept hurting. The tech asked her if she has gallbladder issues and she said no. She fell ill and went to the hospital. She had gallstones. It was pretty interesting actually

I have high functioning autism and I always find it incredibly insulting that some people freak out about it like it’s a disease. Someone isn’t worse because of it. Just different
Because autism is a spectrum, and even if you got on the lucky end of it, the other end can be extremely debilitating and make it nearly impossible to communicate? Testimonial evidence is shaky at best, your experience is not all encompassing.
@@steamfeuver im not saying that im just saying people are pointlessly very mean to people with autism by treating it like an infectious diesease
@@steamfeuver That's not the point. The point is people are acting like their children will catch autism from something like a flu shot like autism is the disease, not the flu. You can't catch autism, and you especially can't catch it from injections. It's a disorder that happens as the baby is forming, so unless they shove babies back in the womb for flu and measles shots, I don't think we have to worry about catching autism from a syringe.
@@nathenewendzel7806 I have a question, let’s say I have a friend with autism and we’ve been friends for a while, would it at some point be okay to ask them how autism have affected them growing up with people who don’t have it?
I currently don’t have a friend with autism, that I know of, but I’m always curious but also trying to be respectful of others and don’t want them in an uncomfortable situation due to me saying something that is perhaps insensitive.
I agree. I have Asperger’s and sometimes I can’t always explain how I feel. I also find it harder to talk when I get overloaded so many people may think that I am ignoring them.

Oh hi Azir
I love that you stated that autism is mostly inherited!!! Parents don't want to know this, they want to blame something else, like vaccines or polution. But I am a functional autistic and I know my father is autistic too, but he will never acknowledge this. My grandfather died when I was in middle school and for what I remember, he could have been autistic too. We have so much similar coping mechanisms. My mother would die of embarrassment if "society knew".
That’s sad to hear that you think your mom would be ashamed :/
I actually went to school with a guy that was born with only one kidney . He was always pretty healthy and did a lot of sports his dad was actually a athletic coach
The strangest thing is on the 1st day of class a brand new teacher looked at him and said you were born with one kidney. And the guy was so surprised like how did you know that. I still don't actually know how the teacher knew that
Schools have to be made aware of medical conditions in case of emergency (like if you're diabetic and you pass out or something) so I would imagine the teacher was probably made aware of any medical conditions in his class. Odd that he would bring it up though lol
Super unprofessional. You are told about a learner's health risks to prepare you for certain emergencies that may pop up. Not to put a pupil on the spot. In my country, the law actually states that as a teacher, you are not permitted to share personal information on any pupil of any kind that they did not disclose as public knowledge. Also, @NovaNinja is absolutely correct - we are told about medical issues, ND issues and any possible home issues that would affect a learner's ability to focus and process lessons.

My little sister was diagnosed with autism pretty close to when she was born. She never had any Vax shots or anything and when people think that those shots causes her to be autistic, I think that any and all things that they say is now discredited due to them saying that.
I'm autistic, and it kind of breaks my heart seeing people risking their own children's lives just for them to not have ASD. The fact that they might have autism after all and parents like those are 100% not going to give them any kind of support also makes me feel icky...
If you have a child, there's always some risk they might be autistic. That's alright. We just percieve the world in a different way and need help sometimes.
I'm diagnosed, and even though my father is not, I am about 98% sure I got it from him. He has all the symptoms I have. That can happen as well, right? As far as I know it is more common than I believed
Sad people think vaccines cause autism.
my uncle has alot of things that would point to autism, i am officially diagnosed with it. its very possible that since autism is still in infancy when it comes to research, that our older family members never got a chance to be properly diagnosed, and therefore pass on things they dont even know they have. also, autism does not need to be inherited, it can be just out of nowhere. all the family can be composed of neurotypical types, and the new baby that rolls around has autism.
My sister claimed I "gave" my daughter autism by having her vaccinated. I absolutely "gave" her autism, but not via vaccination. It's inherited: I was diagnosed after hers. She got it from me😁
Yup, my brother has autism, I've got quite a few traits (but am only diagnosed ADD), so I guarantee my son is going to have SOMETHING. Us being vaccinated has nothing to do with it. 🤷🏼♀️

Yeah this. Martial arts, dance, musical instruments, all help with memorization.
Lucky I do taekwondo
There actually is a study from Germany on the effects of dance training with elderly sedentary people which showed significant improvements in cognitive measurements (and if I remember correctly, memory was one of the subscales affected).
Sport has been shown to improve some cognitive function and even lead to neurogenesis in some parts of the brain, but we still don't fully understand the mechanisms behind it.
Part of it is the fact that they are learning something new. The brain is like any muscle. If you stop exercising memory, it loses effectiveness.

The dumbest things about the “vaccines cause autism” bs is that autism itself isn’t one thing. There are like a bajillion types of autism, all very different from each other. I forget what it’s called and autocorrect isn’t giving me the right spelling but I have a type of autism that makes me a lot smarter, and I hate people who over-generalize it and just use it to make fear.
Great video btw
As a person with high-functioning autism, I’d say it could be argued that the study of autism is in its infancy, to an extent.
But yeah, we know vaccines have nothing to do with it.
And in my eyes, the autism itself isn’t the problem, it’s the myriad of psychiatric anomalies and tag-along disorders that can come with it. At least they’re easier to live with than measles and mumps…
Pretty sure you're talking about savant syndrome. 👍
Same here I have a similar autism and hyper intelligence disorder so Im smart but push doors are still my greatest foe to explain my autism makes it to were sounds busy places large places and for the weird thing not being able to complete simple task my hyper intelligence disorder is were I have a high intelligence level but that also means that I have highly sensitive emotional reactions

There are multiple things you should do, drinking non alcoholic beverages is just one of them. Still, you are probably better off drinking powerade, pedialyte, or some kind of sports drink than regular water. You also probably should eat something if I remember correctly, I actually have a list somewhere back when I drank more frequently and it was all evidenced based from real studies and medical advice from doctors, not facebook bs. 00:35 if you're performing a choreographed dance routine it absolutely boosts your memory. You always have to remember what move goes next
I think dance does “boost” your memory in the sense that you have to memorize multiple routines and movements and eventually it comes easier
I also strongly believe that associating movements to terms actually really help you memorize it! I've often made little dances to remember things for exams!
HAHAHAHAHAH he probably was thinking about the partying type of dancing
That isn't really increasing your memory however. As you learn those movements and dance routines they became easier for the same reason doing any complicated task becomes easier over time. You are learning them. You haven't actually increased your memory at all, you just gave your brain something else to remember. Otherwise KPop idols have to have the best memories in the world.
Uhm then everything we do in our daily lives would boost our memory then.
You can say that about anything that you have to remember something. It dosen't boost your memory or anything it's just that you memorized the steps

My workout is punching pillows, dancing to my favourite songs, and jumping on my trampoline. I have danced for 20 minutes every day for 5 years and almost 8 months. And I have anxiety.
It did increase my anxiety. I had a lot going on and had trouble following the directions. I was always so busy and always so tired I felt like I was going to collapse from my schedule. I eventually stopped going.

Not sure about babies, but pressing on your feet can actually help. If you have a cold, pressing on your feet might hurt (especially the big toe. The big toe is somehow connected to the head, I think) massage the hurting spots and it will feel better. Hands do the same thing. Make sure to drain after you’re done massaging.
P.S 1:31 By pressing on those spots on the toes, it will (supposedly) make those areas of the head feel better
P.P.S I’ve tried this and it works. But I’ve never tried this on babies. Do what Dr. Mike said in the video about babies. Maybe try pressing on your feet or hands if you have a cold?
DISCLAIMER!!! I am not a doctor or medical stuff expert, all this stuff I learned from my mom. ✋🦶
If you are doing a specific dance routine or learning specific dance step/movements, it could help your memory. Because you have to learn and repeat these moves/routine.

Dance does improve memory if you’re doing choreographed movements you have to remember the steps.
Re: dancing increasing memory function: generally our brains work better when we engage in regular exercise. If we also take in consideration that dance/exercise helps eleviate stress too, you would probably have a bit better memory function than if you are not physically active. There's a reason why it got popular a few years back for pros in e-sports to have a more athletic life-style!

Regarding the sleep position one, lying on your stomach is the worst position for your spine. You're better off lying on your back or on your side with a pillow between your legs to even out your pelvis. As a PT, I've seen the difference a better sleeping position and gentle exercise can make for people with chronic back pain.
