I love going to the gym, getting a good workout, and taking care of my body. I strongly recommend exercise to all of my patients as well. That being said, sometimes things in the gym can get a little... weird. Today we take a look at some of the wildest TikToks that take place in the gym. Specifically we talk about bench press, squat, weird exercises on gym machines, hyper flexibility, racking your weights, warm ups, cool downs, PR's, max sets, clean and jerk, resistance bands, snowboarding, pink eye, dunking, vasoconstriction, dead lifting, sprained ankles, bulking, energy drinks, treadmills, and bears.

8:40 I was there, it was INSANE. I have never heard a sound so loud before in my life, everyone was SO happy for her. Sure, the game was far from normal gameplay, but the fact that she was able to make a basket was simply amazing. Everyone in the gymnasium was so respectful; you could hear a pin drop aside from the sound guidance and you could just tell everyone was hoping she would make a basket, then she did, and the room ERUPTED. It was so cool.
For context, this basketball game was our annual unified basketball game, which is a cool thing that allows the special needs students a chance to experience sports in a way they probably wouldn't have otherwise. Such a magical moment.
I come from a small town so I was shocked to see this on Dr. Mike's yt channel!

Just yesterday, there were a couple of teenage boys on the bench press, and the boy failed the rep, and the other boy could only get one side of the bar up. I ran over and lifted the bar up, after seeing that it was resting on the boy’s chest. Neither one even looked at me, lat alone said thank you. Injury story:
One night last summer I was doing chest day at the gym. It was like 11pm at night (24 hour gym) and I had the place all to myself. I was doing decline dumbbell presses. I had two sets of weights. One heavy, and one lighter. I was on my 2nd or 3rd set with the lighter weights, but I had set the other weights too close to my drop zone. I was on my last rep before failure, pushing as hard as I can, then I dropped the weights down. I got my right ring finger sandwiched between the weight I was holding and the weight on the ground! Boy that hurt like a SOB! Luckily no one was around to hear the horrible expletives coming out of my mouth. I went to the bathroom to put my finger under cool water to ease with the pain. It bruised and I could barely move it. I assumed if I shook it off for a few minutes it would be fine. But it wasn’t. I cut the workout short and went home to sleep it off. I woke up the next morning and my finger was purple and even stiffer. I went to the urgent care center to have it x-rayed. Before the x-ray, the doctor walked into my exam room and said, “Bro, I don’t even have to x-ray that to tell you that finger’s definitely broken.”

The worst gym injury I've ever seen was a video my FIL sent to my husband. This woman was doing idk, leg presses I think (the one where you're sitting with weights pressing against your feet and extend your legs out). She was obviously pressing too much. And she had a spotter beside her, but someone else distracted him for just a moment, and that was the moment when she extended her legs out fully -- and locked her knees. The weights pressed back and bent her knees backwards, and all she could do was scream in agony. The video didn't continue far enough to see the spotter get her out, we just saw him whip around and reach for the machine before it ended.
I can only imagine the damage she sustained from that or the recovery involved.

I sometimes drink one bottle of 1.5 liters in an hour, or a little more, it's nothing if you are thirsty, dehydrated, hot... last time I had toothache, I drank maybe 2 bottles (3 liters) in an hour or so, because the fresh water relieved the pain, the only thing I had is a good stomach ache, and a lot of pee. Not a smart move, but no problems. The numbers I found for danger zone is around 4 liters in an hour, or 7-8 liters in a day.
