- How To Set A HARD SCREEN in Basketball, in this video I breakdown how and why you can set hard screens in Basketball. A hard screen in Basketball is when you stay solid when setting a screen without moving not allowing the opposing defender to stay with the player who has the Basketball. With more and more teams incorporating screen and roll Basketball offences I would suggest to learn how to set strong hard screens.

I appreciate your insight, as always, Allen. 💜
I appreciate that!
Another good way to release from the screen is to open up to the ball handler, baynes would pivot with his right foot and open up to saric making him to lose sight of the ball. It would also allow baynes to box out easier if saric was to shoot
Great! Thank you
You are welcome!
I saw the tiger cats shirt, and I knew I wanted to listen to this guy.
lol, yea, I am from Hamilton
i stood still in the middle of the court and someone who didn't saw me ran into me and got mad accusing me of a dirty screen?
justified?
was i wrong?
plz answer
well if you tried to get out of the way and still hit him than the foul would have been on you so your best option is to stand still set a screen for nobody and have him run into you ... I did that a lot I find it fun lol
Like....a LOT!
I am a former football player so when I set screens I lean into screens too much lol and get fouls called, any tips
think with your feet first, establish position and put more strength into your legs than your upper body. Put both your hands near your crotch to protect yourself and to minimize any extra contact that may be called. Maybe think as if you're bracing for a head on tackle, you try to stay strong and still rather than evade or sway.
Stay solid, don’t move. Put your chest out a bit but not over exaggerating it, on top of that make sure your legs are framing theirs and they will not get past you without fouling you or them getting put down lol
I can't help it I lead with my shoulder I think I developed that tendency so I won't get the breath knocked out of me though cause I'm only 5'9 so even allot of guards can mess me up if I hold screen too long
Honestly never realized it could hurt people
lol, yea
How do I stop an elbow flare?
do you mean as a screener?
@@bballcoachallen on my jumpshot, like how do i keep my elbow in, and pointed straight towards the rim? some people also refer to it as a chicken wing, where the elbow is not aligned with the basket

so you saying a 5'6'' point guard can't set hard screens?? I literally Campazzoing on Simmons every screen...
depends on who you are
