I’m 5’8” & when I was a younger man (18-30), I never really thought about my height. Granted, this was before the internet made a big deal about that kinda thing. I was generally pretty confident (for the most part, I was a little shy with girls at first). I’m sure I lost out on women who were attracted to taller guys, but I generally did quite well for myself. I remember people being surprised when I’d say how tall I was. They’d say “Oh, I thought you were like 5’11” or something. I’m convinced that mostly came from being confident & not being aware that I was dealing with an ‘impediment,’ lol.

It has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It was covered by insurance as mine isn’t just for aesthetics. It will allow me to get around better and reach more things.

@@Ch3rry6933 my dude, im a trans woman, my literal BIGGEST hurdle in life is the constant agression and jokes from everyone across the globe.
so i can relate to others facing similar issues.
being MADE to feel like LESS just because you were born a certain way is torment on another level.
And not everyone is able to get past it.
Also, its incredibly difficult to "focus on other things" when every day people go out of their way to remind you.

Ilizarov's surgery is quite risky to do. It can jam ur joints if physiotherapy isn't proprer which is most painful part. Don't influence urself from stupid suggestions and insecurities.

@jamiephilip79 Truth. I wish I could be shorter for a few reasons. Can fit in airplane seats more comfortably, naturally a bit lighter in weight, can fit in smaller spaces, be better balanced. For my hobbies like horseback riding and flying small rental planes, I'd think being shorter would be an advantage for me. XD

There has been tons of research on the effect of height on men. More likely to get hired, to get promoted, to get a pay raise, to have people like you, to be foubd attractive, so on and so on. The only disadvantage is if you are so tall you constantly have to duck or develop medical issues from it.
I am 5'10" and I found out from personal experience height matters as a man. I decided to buy some boots one day. They are about 1.5 inches thick on the heel so I was while wearing them roughly 6' tall. The way people treated me was so significantly different that I only wear boots now.

A lotta people making fun of him but what that one commenter said: It's true though. Prettier / handsome people are treated far better than what we as a society label "ugly" people. Easier to: get a job, earn favours, get into a relationship, treated nicely just a little bit more. They're also considered by others, judged less, and can get away with a lot more
Your own self-confidence is a separate matter that *absolutely* increases your likability, don't get me wrong. But handsome or beautiful people are higher in the social ark, than self-assured ones. Which is beyond sad.
