    Korean Style Beef Short Ribs Ingredients:
    3 lb. Korean style cut beef short ribs (LA Galbi style), cut with the bones, trimmed big chunk fat
    1/2 cup Soy sauce
    1/4 cup Red wine
    1/4 cup Honey
    1/2 tsp. Black pepper
    1/4 cup Chopped garlic
    1 Large red onion sliced into 1/2” thick
    1 Tbs. Cooking oil
    For Garnish (Optional)
    Sesame seeds
    Sesame oil
    Korean red pepper thread

    I added tomatos to your recipe and it turned out really delicious too. I used a crock pot for the braising process. I tried it on no name steak and it's really amazing too. No name is the perfect steak to braise.

    Soak the ribs with vinegar and water or fresh lime juice and water for an hour to draw the blood out. It works very fast. You won't taste the vinegar or lime.

    Omg your recipe is so similar to my grandpas chinese short ribs, literally the only difference is he uses sio xing wine (idk how its spelled lol) basically chinese cooking wine everything is is on point the same! So awesome! I love this

    I think I'll use your sauce for braise short ribs in the slow cooker. We love kalbi but it's sooo expensive now. 8pcs for $40 at the Korean market. It's too bad I can't buy it more often. Being (half) Korean myself, it's one of the foods I grew up eating as well.

    Korean Galbi with western cooking technique.. amazing. I love how you sear the meat and use the bits at the bottom of the pan, which we don't usually do in Korea. Loved it!

      ***** It's depending on which cut of beef. Short rib is quite fatty cut of beef, so chuck will be my best 2nd choice for this recipe. Other wise you have extend the cooking time longer to make it as tender as this recipe. You can substitute wine for mixture of grape juice, red wine vinegar and some water. :-)

    The Red liquid it’s water and myoglobin that’s the protein in the muscles is it’s like the hemoglobin found in our blood it carries oxygen to the animals muscles I thought to let you know and your recipe it’s delicious you are correct everybody loved it and want your recipe so I told them where to find you thank you for those wonderful recipes that we all in my family love ❤️

    would it detract to marinade overnight or longer? I have to prepare meals for 2 days at a time due to work schedules.

      cprpottsville In that case, you can skip soaking in water and searing part- just blench ribs, marinate in sauce for 2 days in the refrigerator(But separate the onion, just cut them and place in a zip-lock back) then cook when you are ready!

      The alcohol cooks out. You can also use rice wine which is traditionally used for galbi.

      +Addie Marie Absolutely right. Plus its better with rice wine since it has a bit of sweetness in it. Japanese Mirin is also a good alternative.

      Sarah Lorfi It's always good to have a wine just for cooking purpose, but I understand what you are saying. For red wine substitute I recommend a mixture of grape juice, red wine vinegar and some water. :-)

      I was thinking about it and I think a decent fruit juice would be good. Grape being the obvious I guess, but it'll taste strongly of the fruit compared to wine, so don't blame me if it's not good, hehe.

    My 3 y.o. son is asking me "mommy, can you cook that please?" I think I need to cook this !

    did she add any heat? some chili flakes or some kinda pepper would go perfect with the sweet. Gotta make this! PS-She's almost as delicious looking as the ribs!
