You seem such a genuine craftsman. If I wasnt 71 years old I would like to be your apprentice .

I'm a keen DIY'er. 10 years ago I built my own wet room, every thing I used was made by Impey except from my Geberit Basin frame and Toilet frame. Thanks to Impey and Geberit it looks as good today as it was when I installed it back then.I find a lot of bathroom fixtures and fitting are massively over priced but in my case paying the extra has worked out cheaper in the long run.
It so nice and educational to see a real pro at work, thanks for the upload really enjoyed it.

I guess the concealed cisterns are designed to be maintenance free for a number of years.
For most people on a budget, a three piece suite will still be the way.
If you have a shower over bath situation and you open the window while showering and squeegee and wipe the tiles / bath, the grout and silicone will last a long time. No water will go near the elements board for a long time, although I agree that this is the appropriate way to do it.

I always use my S1 tile adhesive which has the same adheasive quality as the kst but half the price the main thing to look at is it’s class, KST is C2FTS1 which basically means it’s a S1 adhesive, I always back butter the boards also so you get maximum coverage 👍🏻 good video tho Rodger

Is it recommended that waterproof backing board is used on the walls of an en-suite shower room before wet wall boards are put on, or is the backing board only needed when the walls are getting tiled ?
What is the difference between a wet room and a shower room ?
Even though the shower room has a shower tray and a screen, and the water doesn’t actually flood the floor, the room will still be full of condensation.
A bathroom installer told me that he would be fitting the wet wall panels to gip roc, and gip roc to me, sounds like normal paper and chalk plasterboard.
Am I right in thinking that this sounds a wee bitty unprofessional ?

    Absolutely mustard
I was looking for ideas for my sh…ty looking 35 year old small bathroom and came across this vid. I’m going to have a go myself. It won’t look like yours haha but what a truly professional chap. If folk in our UK government were as efficient in their trades - life would be sensible ! You would have youngsters queuing up for your courses if you semi retired and did the new “T” courses. 11/ 10 mate. Is that loctite I spotted 577 ?

Is it possible to get a list of the items/kits used in this great video please? This is exactly what I want so other than dimensions being different this would be my shopping list :)

He's right if you get the studs right for the bog and cut the waste right when you fit bog it's solid and it rock hard against the tiles

It is a good video and Roger is as good as it gets with presenting them but please bare in mind that no rooms sizes are perfect in the real world and getting one that will fit 3 x those tiles lined up toilet, basin and shower in a row is nigh on impossible to achieve unless you start throwing up false walls to get to those measurements.
When your setting out the room for the first time its corners and doors you need to look for, open that door and look at what your eye sees first and use that as your datum and work away from that, people look at WoW things first , so spend your money and effort there, always check the ceilings to walls and the floor to walls and lose things in the areas that you are not drawn to naturally.
This is the perfect bathroom in the unreal world and while its nice to say if you wont pay for this elements board everywhere I won't do you work well good luck on that one. At times you just have to build it the best way you can with the money the customer has.
I dont quote for my work really. I live in Northern Spain and only work for those that know what they want and where money is really no concern or worry . Most of my clients are Gay men or very rich Spanish families and they want the absolute best and that's what we deliver,.
We start by asking how much do they want to spend on a Bathroom , Kitchen , Wine cellar or Pool and work back from that point, our labour costs are fixed so what's left is materials.
We are happy to tell our clients exactly what we make out of a job so we tell this is what we want for our labour and the rest are provisional sums. Our contracts are always fixed price labour. Over 24 years its worked out very well.
Its a different way of working in Spain to the UK and I can not see the average english couple going to this extreme on a shower room. Its just too expensive. We do work to this level in the video and beyond ,would I put in a raised shower on a 20k plus bathroom absolutely not I would have the floor moved and make it level.
Its' not acceptable in my view to work like that when there is always a solution to be found.
