A beautiful bathroom from a craftsman indeed. When I have won the lottery and build my own penthouse suite I will certainly call on you to fit a bathroom; and the kitchen if you do those too.
Just got my element boards kit today and no more leaks seal strip, looks a good system, fitted my last bathroom but not to this new materail quality,if your gonna do it you may as well do it right ,,nice job and thanks for all the info Roger its invaluable
Great video enjoy watching it. Wonder if the frame system also work with Saniflo system? We live in a flat taking one floor converted from what used to be a whole victoria house. None of my neighbours ( on other floor flats) could use without sanifio system; we all have the bathrooms in the middle of flat :(
Great video roger. Full of helpful instruction and tips.. can all the abacus products be fitted by a competent DIY person. I want to gut my bathroom and use all the abacus products because of the quality.
For fixing to block work do you dot and dab or spread the adhesive over the whole board? It's about the only thing I cant find an answer to on your videos! And how can I order a custom shower tray?
Thank you Ryan. It really completely depends upon the price of the taps / sanitaryware etc. that you choose. We have different price levels of product however the build quality remains the same. A typical bathroom may £2-3 K at retail. Happy to send you one of our new brochures when they arrive next week if you like ? - please just send a request to enquiries@abacus-bathrooms.co.uk
Glad you enjoyed the video - keep checking our CZcams channel for more videos which will hopefully be useful too. If there are any others you would like to see on the channel, please let us know!
Quick question regarding the flooring. Since adding the elements floor board and the tiling on top, how do you compensate for the transition from tile to say carpet?
Our Elements board is 10mm and tile & adhesive is generally about 12mm - this equals a total of approx. 22mm. This is normal in tiling UK timber floor bathrooms as normally 9mm ply is used as opposed to our 10mm Elements board. The 22mm build up is obviously approximately the same as carpet and underlay which is generally on the outside of the bathroom, however this would depend on the exact floor covering used. Hope this helps
Hi goksonline87, thanks for commenting. We believe there would always be a benefit to insulating your pipes (to improve heating efficiency and also for noise reduction), however, it's worth bearing in mind that you are already within insulated walls if you're installing your new bathroom with Elements Insulated Waterproof Board (as shown in this video). Superb and Awesome video with great attention to detail!!! Located in the USA, where can one purchase ABACUS products (INFINITY TRAY KIT - 12 X 9 LEFT HAND (EMKE-L7-1209))?? Current project is a left-hand shower, like to have an onsite adjustable linear drain cut to size using your left hand form such that large tile (12" or 20" square) entering either from the front or right remain so without tile "fall"cuts near the linear drain, is this possible? Floor height is not thick for this project (existing not new const) and will require floor under floor form and linear drain to be lowered to joist height (have seen your videos on this).
Thanks for your comment kc0rock and greetings from the UK! We're delighted you've enjoyed this video guide from Roger Bisby at Skill Builder and we thank you for your interest in our bathroom and wetroom products. Unfortunately, at this moment in time, we don't currently have any distribution partners based in the United States, although this isn't something we're completely ruling out in the future. We wish you all the best in finishing your current project and stay tuned for more bathroom and wetroom guides and inspiration here on our CZcams channel!

Another absolutely brilliant production Roger! But I can't help but think that this Bathroom is Über Expensive, another missed opportunity by Abacus was to add a link straight to their Web Site! You've done well though Roger a year on and no Haters 👍🏻

Excellent, professional and helpful video. However, where on earth can I get the neoprene gaskets which seem like an really good idea? Thanks

Looks like that tiler had a bad time around the WC.
what fittings is he using for the barrier pipe?
Is there any chance that the tilers with his tool to make ridges can scrape off the waterproofed joint and the blue thing?
Where can I buy the elements board and hung toilet system from in Nottingham?
For fixing to block work do you dot and dab or spread the adhesive over the whole board?
It's about the only thing I cant find an answer to on your videos!
And how can I order a custom shower tray?
Great quality build, what would I be looking at price wise for the whole thing?

What size of timber do you use for the stud work?
Can KST adhesive be used as tile adhesive as well? Are there tile adhesive that may attack the waterproofing?
We generally recommend using a cement based flexible tile adhesive.

What do you do in the future if there is a leak under the bath? It does happen.
Can you use the construction waterproof 12mm boards for a ceiling?
I asked this on their other vid. They said yes then you can skim it with plaster.
I like the guy👍🏻
Please can you tell me a good online place to get the FAR manifolds?

Can see crack on tile where the basin waste goes into wall
Well spotted. Could have done with a diamond core cutter rather than cutting a slot out.
nice but not everyone has 60k to spend on a bathroom
yes,but his material is very good for bathrooms and prevents mildew. This material is not expensive, but the service and labor are more expensive.
Don’t suppose roger would be available for a job in Herts would he 🤔 just want to get a new bath and taps in and I don’t want a cowboy to do it
Terrible company - zero customer service and refused to help with a damaged product - poor quality.
