a little unfair, i had a 205 gti, but the new one has moved on in terms of comfort and safety if you crash, its looks are totally stunning and rather unique..i think its fantastic, Vicky will have driven Porsches and Ferraris this month, so overall its a beautiful fast fun car xx
Couldn't agree more with RydeHammer. I had a 205 GTi which I got rid of nine years ago. It was great in its day, but I'd rather have my 207 any day of the week. VBH is stuck in the '80s!
Box goes into gears perfectly, you just have to do it precisely.. Also the mpg is not that bad, mine is remapped to 190bhpb and I get 450/500 miles to the tank (which is pretty small).
the 205gti has the best steering feel out of any hot hatch...ever! and one of the most excitin on edge chassis ever produced, mine is a limited edition 1.9gti serronto green wid a factory fitted peugeot bodykit,it has only covered 93k n has a full service history.see, good ones are still out there!
if you want an amazing hot hatch which is amazing value for money the twingo renaultsport 133 is your answer. It's so fun to drive. It takes over the hot hatch world where peugeot left off
Lo que convirtio a un mito sobre ruedas sl 205 fue el tema de un motor grandre en un coche pequeño y ligero. el 207 es justo lo contrario, coche grande y pesado con motor pequeñijo, nunca será un mito (y menos con motor BMW)
What I don't understand is, how can you compare a modern car loaded with kit and safety equipment, to an old, poverty-spec car from a vanished era? Of course the 205 is going to be more fun to drive, but can you seriously imagine the modern motorist picking one to live with compared to a 207? I had an MG ZS V6, one of the most exciting cars I've owned, but it was horrible in winter - the low spec, rough ride and lack of soundproofing was a miserable experience in January weather.
Get the 2.2 HDi SW. SW miles better than saloon as more practical and just as fun to drive. It's a 407 so has excellent handling, excellent grip and the 2.2 is extremely powerful. It destroys the weaker engined models and all the petrols in every way.
peugeot have mastered the overboost function., personally the old pugs do it for me (the 405 being my favourite by far, its understated and can be a complete animal in the right hands) i havent driven the 207 but oddly i think its not bad looking,,,, i am the only one who thinks that
@TheDr1lla NOT FOR ME.Well because I work in Peugeot I've driven a lot of peugeot's and I own only 205 GTI (from Peugeot).207 is good but it doesn't have heart, only electronics. That's why 205 gti is the best,it has got HEART and SOUL.In the newer cars you can't find that. ;-)
@toodlepips123 actually no to your surprise i had a 2.0 sierra yes the pug was a step down but get used to its idosincarsies (parson the spelling) & its a really good car - some beg to differ but that my opinion im entitled to mine just as your entitled to yours
Try a Golf GTI, you won't be disappointed!!! French has always been TREMENDOUS with little cars, examples: Renault 5 GT Turbo, Renault Clio Williams & RS 2.0 mkI/II, Megane Sport 2.0 RS, Peugeot 205/206/207 GTI, Peugeot 306 GTI/S16. And the "mother" of all that: Golf GTI. Still on the wheels after 30 years!!
Chassis is almost perfect and everybody real journalist who tested it like he had to do told that ESP is useless coz the car turn perfectly fast, we can only regret the absence of a mmore powerful engine coz of the very perfect chassis of the car. So told this woman to shut up, she should be fired.
its clearly that the bitch had a negative precaution from the start. The car has great handling and the gearbox except from the rubber feel that gives you have the ratio pretty right even if it has 5 speed. Who needs more gears with such a huge amount of torque. Well the 6th could be used in journeys. But this car is mountain oriented anyways:)
May be so the 205 1.9 gti was a feared daddy hatch, sadly most ended up round or up a lamp post, and with the driver Brown Bread. or sitting with the engine on their lap, so good on speed not so good at being safe, And be fair whats the chance of finding a mind car? or what would it cost to restore to former glory..Most are shagged out old has been's. nowadays, Worn engines, worn drivetrain, worn everything shit to drive, Let the past go, why didnt she compare lap times on the track.
You can just tell how 207 is not as great as the 205 just by the shape of it. She's right safty regulations and stuff just make the car heavier. The mouth is too big for the engine, longer wheelbase, bigger wheels. they are all factors that make the 207 worse. It's not just the peugot, everything else is, New Mini? It's not mini anymore, it's huge! etc
offcourse it won't. Those were other days. Nothing got between driver and his car. Not even safety:) And everything was smaller and lighter. But in the other hand 205 gti can never reach 207 RC/GTi in terms of ultimate grip safety cruising and many many other things. In the end 207 is a much more better car than 205 offcourse. That doesn't mean it feels the same. Old cars felt better.. But new cars or so much better
She's driven both. she said the 205 was more fun. Your dodgem / Lamborghini analogy is not relevant at all. If you don't understand the review, and think that electronics equate to fun, there's really no point me taking the time to explain. Drive a variety of cars, new and old, good and bad, and you may get it. Probably not mind, because you do seem quite dim
She didn't only just say it was more fun though did she? She said the 205 is the better car. Apart from the fact she finds it fun, what is better about the 205? The fact that if you crash you feel like you've only lost £500 worth of sh*t, not that it would concern you cos you'd probs be dead if you crashed that thing. This is just like saying the old Nissan skyline is better than the new GTR.
306 gti6 is just as quick as the 207 gti to 60 and the 306 rallye is quicker.... 205 gti, 106 gti and 306 gti6 were the best gti's they have ever made. Everything after was rubbish
It is very good yea. But 207 RC is great too. I just think that the result of this review came before the bitch had driven the car adn not after... She didnt like it from the beginning
Only problem with this car is it's a Peugeot they, crafty fuckers in their design of components and parts are expensive, or need to go back to the main stealers. Who pull your pants down and aim for penetration,
Wow! What a bright idea putting a suped up 205 gti against a standard 207 gti! Good one fifth gear you idiots Let a good tuner who knows what there doing get there hands on that 207, slam the suspension to the ground & it'll make that 205 look silly! I do love the 205's but this is so unfair on the 207
Woeful car. I had a 207 gti). So many faults; electrical , steering , suspension , crap engine. Not even particularly fast either . Put me off peugeots for ever. #shittingpeugeot
I drove one of these many years ago, what a rubbish car, it might be faster but it's a terrible drive, weighs a few ton, front end kept going in the opposite direction when I drove it hard, they still can't get it right, they will never make a GTI that can match the 205. in fact since the 309 and the 405 mi16 they haven't made a decent hot hatch.
Shit car.. I bought one, at 55,000kms i went to start it one morning and an electrical fire started in the engine. Half the car burn down by the time the fire truck came. Will never buy peugeot again. O and yes I did own a peugeot 205gti before, handling did feel more lively than the heavier 207gti. Stay clear of the 207gti, the engine is the same as the mini which also has this electrical problem.
so we get it this peugeot sux bad ass his chassis is really bad and the only good thing is his german engine.. Yeeaaa right. So you should all buy the opc and let us who enjoy a really good handling car have this peace of shit PUG. kissez fifth gear next be a bit more true about what you say.
I bet when it comes to parking she gets Tiff Needledick to do it. When they were comin' up with ideas to rival Top Gear some asshole said... "Let's employ a woman, we might get more viewers"...(Apart from Plato) Fifth Gear sucks and women in cars do. Oh, and why don't women just walk the kids to school instead of holding everybody up goin' to work. Stick to knitting and makin' the tea.
lol this woman make me laugh. Its not an objective point of view, where is the track and the chrono tot alk about performance, chassis and performance or even sterring like she did? 207 precision is CHIRUGICAL, I told you and many other test source told it.
I loved my 1.9 gti for its "lift off oversteer"....wooohooo!! Best fun possible in a FWD!
I like the 207 GTI and also new 207 le mans
a little unfair, i had a 205 gti, but the new one has moved on in terms of comfort and safety if you crash, its looks are totally stunning and rather unique..i think its fantastic, Vicky will have driven Porsches and Ferraris this month, so overall its a beautiful fast fun car xx
205 GTI,is simply the best car ever made by Peugeot,and that`s a fact. ;-)
Couldn't agree more with RydeHammer. I had a 205 GTi which I got rid of nine years ago. It was great in its day, but I'd rather have my 207 any day of the week. VBH is stuck in the '80s!
When will the manufactures learn...
!!! WE WANT LIGHT AND SIMPLE !!!
Box goes into gears perfectly, you just have to do it precisely.. Also the mpg is not that bad, mine is remapped to 190bhpb and I get 450/500 miles to the tank (which is pretty small).

@clutchplate Ive got a 207 it isnt the GTI its the 1.4S Petrol engine & i love it use the gear box properly & will go like shit off a shovel
She sits ridiculously close to the steering wheel..
Filippos Vasilakis she’s a short. Arse
Professional drivers sits close to steering wheel.
Maybe you are only a kid or simply you are not a driver.
well up to my first car it does I only had a 1.0 before this so it was quick i want summat quicker now
Fair enough the 205 was better in its time than the 207 is of today but the 207 is the better car, undebatable
Terry Jordan I'd have a 205 over a 207 any day. Peugeots today are depressing
Lo que convirtio a un mito sobre ruedas sl 205 fue el tema de un motor grandre en un coche pequeño y ligero.
el 207 es justo lo contrario, coche grande y pesado con motor pequeñijo, nunca será un mito (y menos con motor BMW)

Iv got the 1.4sport model as well, its got a bit of poke but it doesn't go like shit off a shovel xD
Is there anybody who knows the song from 1:47 to 1:53?
Can you guys test Peugeot 407 2.0 Sport Petrol?
Get the 2.2 HDi SW. SW miles better than saloon as more practical and just as fun to drive. It's a 407 so has excellent handling, excellent grip and the 2.2 is extremely powerful. It destroys the weaker engined models and all the petrols in every way.

The 309 GTI 16 was also a very good drivers cars although it didn´t look as sexy as a 205 or 106
@toodlepips123 actually no to your surprise i had a 2.0 sierra yes the pug was a step down but get used to its idosincarsies (parson the spelling) & its a really good car - some beg to differ but that my opinion im entitled to mine just as your entitled to yours
My father thinks this is his car (205) because it's the exact same and what we could see of the redge was wright
Try a Golf GTI, you won't be disappointed!!!
French has always been TREMENDOUS with little cars, examples: Renault 5 GT Turbo, Renault Clio Williams & RS 2.0 mkI/II, Megane Sport 2.0 RS, Peugeot 205/206/207 GTI, Peugeot 306 GTI/S16.

i like the vw gti ;P
My mate just bought an astra VXR well bad on petrol
doubt it since pug, ford have used as well as others
:)))
And cgd27, no, the 1.4s does not go like shit off a shovel no matter what you do with the gearbox
@giddyrightonup
175bhp isnt a huge amount to shout about but impressive fuel econemy tho
2:30 rofl... Nice car tho
Isn't GTi Patented by VW already??
I don't know why on earth they've a shift knob in metal. It's the same in the 206 GTI. It's not pleasant to put your hand on it in -20 C!
Chassis is almost perfect and everybody real journalist who tested it like he had to do told that ESP is useless coz the car turn perfectly fast, we can only regret the absence of a mmore powerful engine coz of the very perfect chassis of the car. So told this woman to shut up, she should be fired.

I have this and get about 25 mpg. Stock- they're fucking shit
@TheDr1lla
No it ain't the 205 GTi is better. :D
May be so the 205 1.9 gti was a feared daddy hatch, sadly most ended up round or up a lamp post, and with the driver Brown Bread. or sitting with the engine on their lap, so good on speed not so good at being safe, And be fair whats the chance of finding a mind car? or what would it cost to restore to former glory..Most are shagged out old has been's. nowadays, Worn engines, worn drivetrain, worn everything shit to drive, Let the past go, why didnt she compare lap times on the track.
what about 206 GTi? i thought the 207 GTi was a follower to 206 GTi . Not to 205 GTi.
ok seriously ... when are peugeot gonna go AWD???
You can just tell how 207 is not as great as the 205 just by the shape of it. She's right safty regulations and stuff just make the car heavier. It is very good yea. But 207 RC is great too. I just think that the result of this review came before the bitch had driven the car adn not after... She didnt like it from the beginning
aaaaa...dude, the golf gti isn't french. it's german.
Only problem with this car is it's a Peugeot they, crafty fuckers in their design of components and parts are expensive, or need to go back to the main stealers. Who pull your pants down and aim for penetration,

207 GTI is a disappointment, 207 RC FTW (I bought that car immediately after test driving it
Its the same car 🤦♂️
In Argentina GTi is the european 150thp, in Italy GTi is RC
nope im 20 read a profile before you slag a person
Woeful car. I had a 207 gti). So many faults; electrical , steering , suspension , crap engine. Not even particularly fast either . Put me off peugeots for ever. #shittingpeugeot
David Jones sounds like my old 206 gti Lol
My dad has Peugots and they are very reliable but the 207 GTI had a Mini Cooper engine so its obviously gonna be unreliable.
Dino.M it’s a french engine it’s from Citroen mate
What a joke the 07 range was 😂
135bhp of sheer, adrenalin raising, hair curling fun! Yehh right:/ Women:/ The 207 is far better and upgrades easily:/
GT I didn't think that was funny..

Stay clear of the 207gti, the engine is the same as the mini which also has this electrical problem.
mini what, cooper?
yes
Then why don't I have the same problem with u even though mine has more kilometers than yours?
a review can't be that bad nt even in purpose. Worst review ever
so we get it this peugeot sux bad ass his chassis is really bad and the only good thing is his german engine.. Yeeaaa right. So you should all buy the opc and let us who enjoy a really good handling car have this peace of shit PUG. kissez fifth gear next be a bit more true about what you say.

207 precision is CHIRUGICAL, I told you and many other test source told it.
Only good thing about the 207 gti is the seats lol. Unreliable, ugly, heavy and terrible steering.
another fail from peugeot, i bet the 206180 would put this to bed
its just terrible watching fifth gear because they try to hard to be like top gear and fail at it miserably.
nope im 20 read a profile before you slag a person
