The recovery method is suitable for recovering data from a formatted SD card no matter what device you use it in. You can easily recover photos or videos from a formatted memory card.
And for this method, we will use a data recovery software called Disk Drill. Besides a user-friendly and easy-to-use interface It supports a large variety of memory cards, file types, and file systems. The tool is fully compatible with all kinds of micro SD, mini, CF, and standard SDHC as well as SDXC cards.
So first, I wanted to address a popular method that has been circulating around on the internet for quite a while and is one that I've actually talked about before. And that is by using CMD to recover files. So it essentially uses two main commands using check disk and an attribute or "attrib" command inside of CMD to recover files. And while it's technically not wrong to do that is slightly misleading. The CHKDSK command is really only applicable to fixing broken file systems or entire drives that won't respond. And atribb command is usually used to unhide hidden files or folders.
📌 How to recover files from a formatted SD card:
1. Insert the formatted SD card into your computer. Disk Drill will automatically detect it, allowing you to start the recovery process.
2. Scan your SD card with Disk Drill’s Quick or Deep Scan.
3. When Disk Drill locates lost content on your formatted SD card, it will give you the option to either restore everything or prioritize the files you need the most.
4. Place a checkmark to the left of all files you need to recover.
5. When you’ve chosen your files and stopped the scanning process, a blue “Recover” button will be enabled on the bottom left of the window. Click on it to move to the next step.
6. Disk Drill will ask you where you want to save your files. Again, it’s important to choose a different device than the one from which you’re trying to recover your lost data to prevent overwriting.

I had someone format a card on accident and the rewrite images over it again. She definitely shot less images than the first set that she formatted, so I was hoping some images would still be there after I tried disk drill. When you format a drive, it doesn't wipe all the information from it. So, chances are you can still recover files. Please, scan your SD card with the free version of Disk Drill to check.

I accidentally deleted data such as miscelaneus etc., then when I put it in the camera, the camera turned off completely, but after I removed the memory it still couldn't turn on, but after I removed the battery then I put it back in it finally turned on, the question is whether it can return to normal after I restored the deleted file?
That is hard to tell. If restoring the deleted files doesn't solve the problem, it's recommended to have the camera inspected by a professional technician to diagnose and repair any underlying hardware issues.

Check if files in scanning results show their content in the Preview window. To preview the file click on the Eye icon and you should see the file content. Otherwise, this file was probably damaged and we can't guarantee successful recovery in this case

How can I only scan for images. The software is trying to restore all the data it had in it's entire lifetime (like 60GB). I don't have that much data from it. I just need few images.

That's all fine and good... but what are the options if the computer cannot identify the formatting on the SD card. That is what happened to me. The SD card seems to have lost its formatting. Should I try a low-level re-format of the card, then walk through the procedures you describe here?

First and foremost, stop using the MicroSD card immediately to avoid any further data being overwritten. Then scan your card with a data recovery tool like Disk Drill.

I have an external hard drive of 1000 GB, it has been searching for files for over 5 hours and all the time it just throws out files that are already on the external hard drive, it repeats most of the same files 50x maybe more, it has not even searched half of the external hard drive in 5 hours. I haven't seen a single file in so long that it found that was overwritten or deleted. I think I'm wasting my time. I've been looking at those files for over 5 hours and I'm already going crazy.
Last night I had the same trouble with it, I entered the date and the names of some folders, but when I enter it, it doesn't throw anything out. You can't even restore the files until the entire search is done. Easy Data Recovery seems much better to me, it has a better and nicer view, files can be recovered even while searching other files, but I heard that this one is better than Easy Data Recovery, but I'm not sure.

Does formatting an SD card delete everything?
It depends. A quick format will only erase the drive's directory, but it doesn't really erase all the files. So, they can still be recovered. Full format will clear files completely. The only way to verify that your files are recoverable is downloading Disk Drill Basic, running the scan with All recovery methods on the whole drive (not just volume or partition) without interruptions, locating the files in question, and previewing them to verify the content. Disk Drill PRO will recover the files that can be correctly previewed in Disk Drill Basic.
