      I don't even think it matters what we do. City will not be letting this go, and each of their remaining games are easy 3 points. In fact, I expect them to rack up the best goal difference while they're at it.

    The season is done, thought it since Thursday night didn’t think we had any chance of winning the last seven and I don’t even think we’ll win all of the next three away games.
    Another season where there was so much potential is going to end in disappointment and it’s heartbreaking. Not expecting much under a new manager either because it’ll take time to get his ideas in place so the party might be over for the foreseeable future.

    No way we should keep Salah after his recent performances, he is not world class anymore and has fallen off a cliff. I would sell Diaz and Nunez if we get a decent offer (honestly I doubt anyone would want Nunez 😅). Question marks over guys like Elliott and Jones and where they fit within an Amorim system, never mind Gravenberch who never plays (why did we buy him?). Same with Gakpo, $50 mil to do nothing. I think Szobo will be fine, Mac10 and Endo have been our best players this year. Where does Trent play? Is Bradley good enough as the backup? Is Robertson still good? Tsimikas certainly isn't. Van Dijk is aging and its evident, Gomez and Konate are decent and Quansah is a good young player, but we absolutely need a new CB. Our squad still needs major surgery...

    If we finish a point behind Klopp will say we was close and we lost title by one point. He seems to ignore the fact we usually drop points that allowed to city gain their leading position. Remember spurs ? Dropped points and after that city went on to win and win. So did we but damage was done. Also Leicester dropped points in January in another title fight.

  • @ouzairhafeez

    Unfortunately it is, considering our season long defensive frailties and now adding missing chances on top of that I don't see anyway back. Missing simple chances is a big blow, I mean even when Jones was running towards a keeper I didn't felt confident that he would put that one in. The players have let down Klopp, there were issues with all the injuries but his intelligent management kept us afloat and now when he needs his players to step up they are just being incompetent

  • @jonatherton
    @jonatherton Před měsícem +1

    Sorry to say that we are missing a manager with energy and tactical sharpness at exactly the time we need those attributes. Hindsight is great, but Mo and Darwin are so obviously out of form and Gakpo was in form. Today's selection was a mistake and that's on the boss. We were really poor today. The lack of energy on the field mirrored by the lack of energy off it.

  • @SpuddersSpud-ps6dd
    @SpuddersSpud-ps6dd Před měsícem +2

    The manager has had a mare with team selection. In his whole time at the club I've never questioned him before until he started Endo today. It's also the first time I thought maybe he's leaving at the right time with a decision like that. My heart sank when I seen the teamsheet before kickoff. Less than 3 days ago the fella was goosed when Atalanta targeted him, and he starts against Palace, another team who targeted him previously. Freshness, energy, mobility, things Klopp strives for, and yet he neglected all that. That DM position is crucial as the anchor of the team. It needs energy and athleticism, someone with mobility who screens the defence, tracks runners, puts out fires (especially in the chaos of a Klopp team), and gives the advanced midfielders the freedom to attack without having to constantly worry about staying close to protect the DM's lack of mobility. Endo wouldn't get in a top ten side in the PL, he wouldn't get in the Palace midfield that's for sure as knowing his weakness they went after him again. To neglect that position has ultimately cost us as we are wide open infront of the defence and as a result we routinely go behind, and having to constantly play catch up in games puts extra strain/pressure on the attackers. With no defensive solidity from midfield we are vulnerable in every game. Mac, Dom and Curtis are the best midfield three (Harvey as sub), and while it's not ideal having Mac in the 6 its alot better than carrying a fella who can't track runners and puts the whole team under pressure. Our four best years under Klopp defensively was 2018 to 2022, prime Fabinho. When he fell off a cliff, we fell off a cliff. He's brought in advanced midfield players to do the running but that can't make up for the slow 30 year old fella in behind them. The gaping hole in midfield against Man U when they went 2-1 up, he's just not got the mobility to cover the ground. So passive, and that first half had his name all over it. Like Newcastle away (in his first start) we were transformed today when he went off, the energy level ramped up. The Endo experiment is over, and sadly with it Klopp's era.

      @leolovetoparty Před měsícem +1

      @@AndrewL4me it’s always good to refer to actual stats when making such arguments. The last game Man City lost in the Premiership was December 6th. Since then, they have drawn with Crystal Palace on Dec 16, Chelsea on Feb 17, LFC on March 10 and Arsenal on March 32. They have 2 slightly tricky (on paper) games: Brighton away April 25 (they got brutalised by Arsenal and I expect City to do the same), and Spurs away on May 14 in their penultimate Prem game. They’ve already beaten Spurs away in the cup and I can’t see Spurs getting anything from that game esp if City need the points to secure the league.
      Something else to note is that they typically score more points in the 2nd half of the season. They are excellent at pacing themselves and peaking at the business end. Last season they won 12 in a row (Feb 25 - May 21) and then dropped points in their last two games after the league was done. If they win their remaining games, it will be 9 wins in a row. They are more than capable of that and I expect them to achieve it.

    Salah needs to be dropped and we played better without him. What annoys me is Salah and Nunez smile after missing massive chances, just do your job and get the goals. Also our defending has been suspect for a long time.
