@@faridirwan7610 the point thoe mate is that a good manager adapts and changes tactics for what his got to go against how his opponents are, this applies to every team sport in the world. Kompany as admiral as it is to stand by his guns, what he was doing was blatantly not working and his failure to react adapt and overcome got a club relegated with out putting up any sort of fight all season. I guarantee if Rob Edwards of Luton had Kompany's players they would not of been relegated with his ability to get the best out of what his got and change tactics for different opponents. Yet bayern aren't going to be going into many games expecting to have to play defensive/passive tactics, Burnley's offensive tactics were spot on which is what Bayern play. for the record, i think this a bad managerial appointment, I don't think Kompanys tactical coaching credentials ruin it for him.

@@faridirwan7610philosophy means nothing if you aren’t able to win games or stay up at the end of the day his philosophy got him relegation, I’m a Norwich supporter so I know a lot about the yo-yo nature that some clubs deal with between the premier league and the championship and in my opinion I wouldn’t mind if a manager who got us promoted briefly changed the tactics for a season or so to gain stability in staying up first before bringing in his philosophy in terms of playing the style he wants to play because it doesn’t mean anything if you just get relegated the same season you got promoted. I think Kompany as good as he was as a player we don’t know what he’ll be like as a manager of a top club just because he played under pep doesn’t mean he’ll automatically become a pep like manager it’s more so about what a manager can do with the players at their disposal and how well they are at adapting their tactics to best fit the team not best fit his own idea of the way it should be played. You can put silk on a goat but it’s still a goat Burnley are that goat Kompany looked like he couldn’t figure anything out over the season and they got relegated easily I don’t understand why Bayern hired him other than his name as a player just like how Xavi initially got the job at Barca it could go well but at the same time this could easily go horribly wrong but we’ll see it’s hard to go wrong when you have that amount of power behind you at a club like that but I’m not convinced Kompany is good enough to be at an elite level club yet but only time will tell

Kompany arguably underachieved more than any other manager in the premier league this season. They won the championship on 101 points last season and finished with 24 points in the premier league this season. Granted they didn’t have Tella, Harwood-Bellis and Matsen, who were three of their best players in the championship, but they spent £100 million in the summer. German teams have always taken punts on managers. Their whole philosophy is different. Klopp was interviewed by both Bayern and Dortmund after getting relegated with Mainz, and that worked out well. The idea is that a good coach will thrive in the right setup. You can tell a good coach working in a bad environment from a bad coach who keeps getting bailed out by the setup around him. Klopp, Poch, Mourinho etc have all achieved with lesser resources and makeshift teams. Ten Hag has failed outside of Ajax and their structure, same as Jesse Marsch outside of Red Bull.
