    It's not just Salah, it's not even just the attack. Yea we can't finish chances, but the defense is shocking as well. We are 19th in the league for performance in the first 15 minutes. Only Sheffield do worse than us in those moments of the games. The fact that we concede early so often knocks the confidence of the players going forward, as they are the ones who have to clean up. The entire squad is misfiring, and everyone is suffering for it.

      Our defense, especially our two center backs are asked to cover ALOT of space due to full backs going up. This cause us to be out of position on the counter and it leads to goals. Teams target our right side and pressure konate who has to cover the right by himself. It’s a risk apart of our play style.

    Honestly, it blows my mind that people haven't noticed this sooner. Salah was world class in his first season, and for the first half of the 2021/22 season, but other than that he has been wildly inconsistent and overall pretty average, and also he's rarely delivered in big games. He ultimately gets loads of goals and assists and so gets a pass, but he is incredibly greedy and wasteful with possession, misses sitters almost every game, and hasn't skinned anyone for a couple of years now, since his pace disappeared overnight. Remember when he used to cut inside and curl shots into the far top corner? What happened to that?! Now, they are either skewed miles wide or piddled into the keeper's gloves.

    • @PercivalDark
      @PercivalDark Před měsícem +1

      Salah is a world class player. He wouldn't have such consistency every season if he wasn't. But I think whenever he has come back from Afcon he has either been exhausted or injured (this season) and this has impacted his performance. It doesn't help that Nunez and Diaz seem to be missing bucketloads of chances.

      Holy shit do people have selective memory..
      He's literally the highest scoring, and most consisten winger in PL history. He's around 12 assists away from kicking god damn Beckham out of the Top 10 assists in PL history.
      Hazard had whole seasons where he didn't show up. When we needed Mane to step up in 20/21.. because the team was suffering, he kept missing every chance he got, and only scored 16 goals in almost 50 games.. and every fan and pundit were yelling for him to be sold.
      God damn Drogba who's considered one of the most lethal attackers in league history.. barely got 10 goals in 7 out of 9 PL seasons.
      Salah averages 22 league goals a season. Most strikers are happy to reach 22 goals ONCE in their careers.
      The guy just came back from the only serious injury he's had in his Liverpool career. He's been serving up world class passes on an platter in important games.. and just like Mane, they've been letting him down. Yes he's missing alot of chances, but so is Haaland.. that's when his teammates need to step up.

      @@salmonero6472100%. From a practical perspective, I’d like to know from Salah’s detractors, who they would buy to replace Salah… then we can all chime in with how poor said player is by comparison and how it would t be money well spent. I fear that this is the bigger problem. That the rest of the team are firing blanks and do not have a proven scoring record. Jota is clinical but he tends to miss roughly a third of every season. Salah’s injury record is unbelievable. I would keep him while the new manager gets his feet under the desk. I would offer him a one year extension to protect his value and help the transition. Selling Salah seems like madness to me. He is not ready to cash his chips. I believe he feels he can win more trophies and if we don’t offer a new contract, he will run the current one down and then go to Madrid, Barca, Bayern or PSG. IMO those dreaming of a £100m transfer to Saudi are deluded and do not understand Salah’s motivation and how important legacy is to him. Not everyone is motivated by money, and he earns £1m a month. Also lets not forget that the team has had a mad overhaul in the last couple of years. Hendo, Milner, Mane, Bobby, Origi just to name a few. That kind of stuff takes a toll on you man. He doesn't press ,
    His general play is awful,
    His short passing is school boy ,
    In fairness his forward passing/through balls have been very good but he doesn't get involved with anything
    And he always gets away with it because he'll score a tap in or a pen or the odd lovely pass but he hurts us so much he looses possession every time he gets it and he doesn't work hard , maybe Klopp needs to play him close to the striker or put him on the bench
    I can deal with the others missing chances if they're trying hard getting involved but moh's offering nothing and hiding behind his stats he's always ball watching every time he gets it to feet he waits for the ball and gets intercepted it's abysmal

    I am a huge Salah but he's been dropping in form. You can't rely on him to receive and hold a ball or play the right immediate pass. He hides on the wing and doesn't come into the right receiving positions. I suspect Salah has hidden a lot of injuries in the past, which has hampered his performance. He doesn't run anymore, he doesn't press any more. He doesn't dribble, often loses the ball and trips over it. Always immediately puts his back up against a defender, who then pushes him over and dispossess him. Time to sell the legend.

    He also never bothered to work on his right foot, and he’s paying the price in this stage of his career. Tap ins with his right foot are shanked over the bar or wide.

    He has no serious competition for his spot and Klopp ends up overplaying him because of it. Several times at the start of the season where I was either surprised he wasn't rested or subbed off for the next game.
    He always goes off the boil after AFCON too. Maybe both factors together (plus the fasting) are why he suffers from end of season burnout.
    We need a new RW regardless what Salah turns up. He's turning 32. Has to be one of new manager's main priorities

  • @imanthagunasekera8369
    @imanthagunasekera8369 Před měsícem +1

    He is dropping off but what do you expect he is 32 now, so as lot people say its time for him to go !. The question is who are we getting to replace him cause Nunez and Diaz ain't the solution (They aint even close to as effective as Firmnio or Mane). Even after not considering penalties, Salah still has more goals than these two. Looking at the last couple of games its pretty clear that its just not only Salah but all three. I mean even the Chelsea game we just scraped last minute winner from VVD, it shouldn't be this hard with their current status. And as I remember Salah wasn't present, so problem is our forwards just cant finish. Diaz does score some crazy goals here and there but he also misses a lot. But Nunez really is the biggest disappointment.

  • @bluntman1001
    @bluntman1001 Před měsícem

    This conversation is irrelevant. Yes, Mo isn’t in his best form since the AFCON but he’s still contributing goals/assists. He could have had more assists if either of Darwin/Luis could finish. More importantly let’s talk about Diaz: he runs a lot but no end product. We have no help from his side. However the biggest issue is our defence. We cannot keep conceding then expecting our strikers to dig us out of the hole. Every time the opposition (no matter who) break against us there is a chance for them to score

  • @nortonkelly8460
    @nortonkelly8460 Před měsícem

    While coming from behind is a good trait, going behind so many times is not a good sign, and it was inevitable at some point that we wouldn't be able to pull off a come back, we still lack athleticism in midfield and the pressing just isn't the same from anyone in front of the defense, since allowing FB to come inside into midfield mo has had to stay wider more often and we don't get the best out of him, but also he rarely sprints anymore, then we have Nunes, who couldn't hit a barn from the inside, its liverpools mistake, player turn over has being poor and we had to do too much last summer,

  • @donyoung333

Couple months ago we were hearing "this is the best version of Salah the playmaker" Now that he's back injured from AFCON , injured and into his 30's playin with substandard strikes beside him that can't finish their dinner or find each other for easy goals, he's finished again apparently. You can;t expect him to do this czcams.com/users/shortsWNvQZeSf1bE anymore. - others need to step up eventually

    Just a bit of a reality check - Mo Salah being miles off it is the same level as a top quality replacement. I suspect he'll leave in the summer and if his replacement gets 20 PL goals in their first season I'll be amazed. Next season we'll have to get used to Diaz, Nunez and Salah's replacement missing the target constantly. Like Klopp its time just to be grateful for Salah's contribution and say thank you. This season has ended we just haven't had the final whistle.

    He will leave us, The money he is worth will set him and his family up for life. The new manager has started by saying that some of the members of the current team will go, thats unsettled them. TAA is being touted as going to Barca or Real for a pretty penny. He says never but so did McMannaman and Torres and its their future not withstanding the fact that TAA owns property all over the shop. Internationals have taken the energy out of the lads and seeing we have so many international players in the team its not rocket science to say they are knackered and being human they can only stay fresh and active for so long, With all that going on it was always going to be tough at the end of the season and Jurgen said at the beginning of the season Man City would win it. So when they fk up cut them some slack. Playing at that level every few days will take its toll soon enough and we are at that point now. Stay hopeful that City will also conk out as has Arsenal. Its not over until VAR is well and truly booted out of the game for the piece of crap it truly is.... YNWA.
