Judging from the music, the editor is in a happier place than she was a while back. That'a good news! Good to have you back!
Personally I found the music too loud relative to the commentary 😮
My feeling exactly, I enjoyed the music and felt the same about the editors frame of mind!
that is exactly what I was thinking,
Ya, loving the musical direction in the last few eps!
Loving the music and the work being done to SMCII!❤❤❤
One of the hidden charms of the Magic Carpet episodes is the outstanding music selection. Many content creators do not emphasize this aspect but Maya nails it every time.
I agree with an earlier comment that the current music selection seems to indicate a more contented editor
This is always a good thing.
If the coambing was the only creative and special element, that alone screams customization, yet, thanks to Aladino's and Maya's combined effort, more special parts keep appearing to create this masterpiece of a boat rebuild.
That at 16:40 was a nice bit of philosophy: 'use what I know to create what I dont know'!
Applicable to so much of life!
I just want to say you two are both artists, and it does definitely shows Maya can make a heck of show and Aladino man. You are a boat builder. If or when you have children, they will be beautiful and intelligent. You guys ROCK ❤
Do you remember how television was made in the 80s or 90s? About 20 People filmed and edited and cut and narrated a video and describe, what other 10 people have been working on. Today, her, there a TWO people, doing this every WEEK. Alone! And so great. Ich ziehe meinen Hut, don’t know the english translation, but Aladino of course speaks deutsch fluently, too. Love from Hamburg.
And the music would not have been that tasteful selected, too :)
I'm starting to think this boat is going to be as beautiful as Magic Carpet I! (and that's a real complement)
16:34 "I have to use what I know to create what I don't know"❤ Philosophy of a marvelous creator...! I'm inspired again and again, thank you and your passionate "film lady"
You are a true craftsman. I think Magic Carpet and Duracell should have a glassing contest as both of you are amazing! Make it a fund raiser for both projects!
Can’t wait for you to be back on the water sailing and playing violin on shore too. Know you of course both feel the same way.
Put a vent hole out through the coming at the stern end of your horseshoe, water traveling aft down the deck can just be directed overboard instead of splashing upwards. But I love the design. Well done.
I have watched this channel for some time. Aladino has come out of his "shell" over time preferring to hang in the background in the beginning. I am not a sailor, but his obvious love for boats / sailing and his knowledge and craftsmanship are a joy to watch. He and Maya, a talented young lady in her own right, are a great match for each other.
Dear @ytubsave307
👍👌👏 Very well said and I totally agree. I've already often commented that they not only look good together but complement each other extremely well. It's quite a good match.
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
Maya - As a musician I deeply appreciate your musicianship that comes through in your musical editing added to your video editing in todays presentation.. well done, well done.
Upon the azure canvas, a vessel set to roam,
"Magic Carpet" embarks, seeking lands unknown.
Sails catching whispers, it dances with the breeze,
Chasing sunsets and tales, over the open seas.
Through moonlit nights and starry dreams it sails,
To exotic shores, where adventure never fails.
In distant isles and spice-scented air it weaves,
A journey of wonder, where the heart believes
Cockpit change looks like a very practical solution to having more useable aft deck space as well as looking elegant. Complimenti!
That coaming design is sceaming for a scupper in the bulwark to let the trapped water just flow out. A scupper might minimize the foutain effect Maya is worried about.
I was wondering if it would have been possible to extend the coaming in a straight line, instead of the curved aft end, so it would have met the corner of the transom, right where there is already a scupper to allow the water to get out of there.
@@altair7001 me too but i know nothing about boats or music composition come to that both of which they have in spade fulls
I loved that first song so much I had to look it up. I'd never even heard of Sammy Rae. So thank you!
Where the cowling curves outwards at the stern end to meet the bulwark: what if you didn't use / attach that curved cowling section at the stern end at all and instead let the cowling run straight and end it, open and not meeting with the bulwark at all? That would prevent any water geyser building up in that tight corner and additionally possibly make a narrow ramped section next to the bulwark to direct water up and over the stern bulwark instead? Even without a ramped section the water would run more freely without the cowling at the stern curving to meet the bulwark. Just a thought. Love watching you guys and respect to the challenges and the craftsmanship and hugs to Maya adjusting to a longer timeframe and workload and dealing with unexpected deadlines for sailing. Warmly Braeden
Maya you have got yourself a Great Husband .... Aladino is a Soft Spoken , Kind Hearted , and Smart Man .... watching your Episodes is like taking a Class in a Meditation .... Maya you both go together very well ....
May your Dreams come true .... ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊 .....
great blues at the end :)
Hey Aladino, when you bridge the gap between cabin top to coaming with bog tape the surface of cabin top with glossy packing tape not duct tape. The bog will release much easier. Cheers Sam
Love the reverse coaming, giving you a massive poop. Aladino is a true artist. Maya your editing and music accompaniment is truly elegant.
I am well known as a craftsman in my field, but I have to bow in deference to Aladino's mastery. Maya is also a craftsperson...my wife and myself commented on that music as we watched. So great. Smooth, expressive, rich. All the best to you both.
Yes Indeed Aladino, Nice video.
Good idea by inverting direction of one single piece.
Changes everything.
See you next week.
Love the proposed coaming design. The Able Marine Apogee 50 had a similar design that I always liked.
Aladino, I don't know much about boat work, but that coaming looks so natural. You truly are a master craftsman. And are very lucky to have such a skilled editor and musical wife.
Behind every Great Man, is a Great Woman! Definitely the case here! You two are what every boat in need, needs. Depending on my dilemma, I either find myself asking, What would Jesus do? or, what would Aladino do? 🤣
“To use what I know… to create what I don’t know” Words to live by. Brilliant
Nicely done revisions of the cockpit! And I hope that Maya is on her way to rebuilding her chops with bow and finger technique. After extended breaks from my instruments, the rebuilding process is a weird mix of relief, self-recrimination, and unrealistic expectations. But perhaps she has better character and personal balance than I do. :-) Bon Chance.
Alex, your openness helps us to forgive ourselves for falling short of our own self-expectations.
Thanks foe this Man!
I had no image in my head, but it is looking great like this.
6:40 If you have Lee cloths around the cockpit you can keep it pretty dry in most conditions.
If ever I considered having a boat built and no matter the cost of your services I would only want you as my project manager.
Please more of these nice strolls through the boatyard!
Dear Sailing Magic Carpet couple.
👍👌👏 Very well done again and as always (video and work). 2) It's not only nice to see that ripped off/cut off materials get reused again. It's also an ingenious way to kind of upcycle the cockpit coamings. Although unfinished, it already looks great. Especially because of the outswinging hooks at the end. I like that it looks a bit like the shape/frame of a lyre/harp. Just like the one Troubadix "plays". I bet that at least Aladino knows who this famous Asterix and Obelix character is. 3) I'm happy to see how well the temporary boat shed works and how well you have settled in.
As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health in particular.
I love the new design, I think it will look good and work well. Hello from Ladysmith, KZN, South Africa.
Underbody! Not underwear. Keep up the good work. I really like the different approach to the coaming. Seems like the right answer. Once you get the cap rail on, everyone will see why you did it.
amazing how you have changed the cockpit, gives a modern look too
Good morning from a very warm Auckland New Zealand. The shed looks great along with your new coaming design, I like it and will add a nice feature to your craft. Cheers and well done, Ian
Ah, Orion floating across the star filled night sky has returned. Thank you.⛵
A boat builder can never have too many clamps. You are creating a beautiful and practical cockpit.
Loved the soundtrack, and of course the craftsmanship
Aladino, your work is absolutely inspiring! 🙏
Great to see the progress super glassing tips, oh my the boats in the cape George yard mouth watering.
Side benefit of the coaming design: it's slightly reminiscent of the soundholes in a fiddle!
Maya excellent filming Aladino again outstanding boat building. Even you said you have never done this type of boat work before so it is all done by what you think will work and look good. You've all bases covered and not surprisingly know what the HECK you are doing. the music on this video was great and played in place of the sounds of the equipment while working your jobs on the boat.
Catch you next video.
Gotta say the music in this episode was very enjoyable.
I looked for a listing but no dice.
It would be nice to hear some more of her in the future, and a listing of who it is would be appreciated.
Good job.😊
Boat yard strolls, so nice. Love it in the morning with a coffee and a boatyard cat!
Thank you so much, for a great job of bringing us the Boat Build. :)
Love the shape of the coamings. It's a bit like knocking out a wall between 2 rooms, suddenly there is so much more room, and you won't feel so constricted
Very anticipated upload, thanks guys from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧🙏
It was worth it. I look forward to Fridays......no pressure though.... :) I enjoyed the vid and I prefer the design that you have chosen. You guys will come up with a really cool and unique way to shed that water and it will be one of a kind. Well......the waiting starts over again.......see ya next Friday!
Maybe later, when you've had some on water experience with it, you can add a low (10-15cm?)combing right at the back of the cockpit to control water washing forward a little. Might even be a useful toehold?
The cockpit enclosure showcased so many of your woodworking talents into one project. Congratulations on another great project!
Guys, as always, your shows are very interesting, and for me, entertaining. Excellent work all-round 😊.
it's more than 10 year ago i was sailing, but enjoy every video from you, thank you for showing all this, greetings from belgium 😀
Aladino certainly works fast - 🙂. Hopefully your cockpit choice is right for you. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Per, Denmark
4:44 love that music 😊
My favourite youtube channel with one of my favourites musics groups!!pretty dang spiffy!🎉🎉❤
Thanks for Sammy Rae & Friends. Was new to me. Listened to them for a week now 😀. Keep up the good work.
With the open/curved combing, to reduce the possible water slapping/splashing up, could you add a good size scrupper in the bulwark next to this area? Maybe the water would run down the deck and follow the curve and be directed out by the shape thereby reducing the splash. Just a thought.
Maya, thanks for the great soundtracks!
kind of funny when Aladino says things like "not so much extra work" 🤓
Maya... Goodonyas! Looks like your headspace has returned, strictly gauging the uptempo score selection!
Looking great!
Thank you - very insperational for our own project. No, not a boat, but we can live in it 🙃
Looking great and loved the choice of music this week Maya 🙏🙏🙏
best music choices ever
Mate, you are a meticulous craftsman. Wonderful to see the care you take of your work.
Re cockpit re design, ❤looks great, have you considered adding extra scuppers in the bulwarks to drain the trapped water ahead of the new coamings to improve drainage?
Hi,I’m just loving the coming together of this boat, and being able to travel along with her progress..and the two lovely people making it possible.Thank you.cheers Roly🇬🇧
Can’t seem to get enough of you guys. Always an entertaining and interesting session. Thanks for sharing! 😊
always a pleasure. thanks guys
I always love to watch and listen. Today I noticed that I always watch the intro. The sounds and sights are both restful and invigorating, I must say orion is my favorite constellation the sounds are heavnly. thankyou.
loving the music again! (Sammy Rae & Friends are awesome ❤)
Maya, as you have moved to your new home you should make a new intro as the shed is no longer. Great music.
Awesome music and production quality! Just drew me in!
I've been a marine Electrician for 18 of my 23 years doing electrical. 13 years ago I started wiring ships wearing amost the exact same sneakers Allidino wears. Mine were the fully leather version without the plastic cap. It was disscontinued at some point , but was finnaly brought back last year!!! I love this sneaker so hard. You can feel the boat and move so quicly with it. A pair lasts me almost 2 years with very hard use. Best sneaker ever!
as an alternative you could have let the coamings go aft parallel to the cockpit up to the stern bulwark. That's how traditional English cutters used to deal with water on deck. In the stern bulwark would have been large openings for the water to flow out. It would have both, enhanced the traditional looks of the boat and ensured a dry cockpit.
Love the new combing!
Yeah buddy, good work.
Cockpit looks fantastic!
I like the comings, may consider doing that when building my boat.
Glad to see you two returning to civilization. Your take on the boatyard is unique, most EU boats are maintained at a much higher standard. MCII
You two are a couple of bona fide artists!
Great music and lovely to follow the work in detail.
Just a thought not a criticism. I was thinking that you might put in a scupper right where the combing joins into the bulwark to relieve the water flowing down the deck over the side. Maybe a horizontal teardrop shape pointing forward would work.
Also, right where the combing joins into the cabin, it might look smoother if you could raise the top of the combing so that it flows into the top of the cabin. It would be something that your eye would just sweep over without even noticing the junction. Maybe two or three feet to blend in the lines.
Just a thought, cheers.
My friend Ernie calls these things you must do before you can actually do what you wanted to do "first-ya-gottas"!
Very interesting way of customizing the comeings. Thanks for the video 👍👍
八 = 8 That is the Chinese character for the number eight. 八 is what I was reminded of when I saw the shape of your new design for the cockpit coamings and imagined myself standing on the poop deck looking down and forward. In Japanese, 八 is pronounced "hachi" or "yattsu", depending on the usage. It's a lucky number, like our seven.
You'll find the new design to be satisfactory, especially when swinging to anchor. You might consider installing a couple of small bronze ateps on the upper reaches of the rudder for easy boarding from a dinghy tied up at the stern.
Good ideas all around.
This episode is so epic, I watched it a second time. Learning from Aladino and listening to your splendit music selection brightens up my sunday evening (cold, wet weather where I can't neither sail nor build on the boat). I'm really curious how the water will run down those coamings. My guess is that the outward bend will keep the water outside and it will eventually geysir outboard (because of the tilt), especially when the boat heels a bit.
Perfection personified.
Progress looks great! Can you notate what songs and music and singers you are playing. You'll have great taste in music. Love the music along with the progress of the boat. Cheers.
Real craftsmanship!
I really enjoyed the music in this episode. Especially, the glassing of the stern segment. Keep it up, Maya!
Definitely the more elegant solution.
I was thinking that with your choice of cockpit you could have removable rubber plugs waterproof the hatch and have a hot bath in the cockpit now and again. :-))
Aladino and I clearly have different ideas of what "winging it" means.
I love this project. Aladino is an amazing carpenter/boat builder and I love watching him work. You guys are awesome!
Love the jazzy music thumbs up
