When we were 12, my friend's older brother had some tickets and took us to a wrestling show. We were right by the aisle and when King Kong Bundy came out we were shouting at him. He turned in perfect heel fashion, pointed at my friend, told him to shut up and called me a f*ggit. I am proud of that moment to this day.
The most honest wrestler I've ever heard. "We're 2 grown men in our underwear pretending to fight." "I just couldn't bring myself to care". Thank you King Kong Bundy
Although you have to give some respect to the guys who risk their life and health to make it "real" even though it's fake. But yeah, I see it more like Bundy the older I get.
I just became a Kingpin fan from the comics and when I see Bundy, I feel like he should have been the one to play the live action Kingpin. Plus, he's really well spoken and very intelligent, which is a surprise. He woulda been a perfect Kingpin.
That's a great observation and a bang on resemblance to the original comic book character that the Kingpin was. Being an arch nemesis to Spiderman and Daredevil respectively.
Bundy is an outstanding interview. Had he not passed, he could just go from podcast to podcast and tell stories. He could have been a very successful podcaster himself. What a great conversationalist!

The most iconic figure in wrestling. No, literally. That rubber WWF LJN action figure was so heavy it could drop an elephant. A great and funny man who is sorely missed.

I was standing RIGHT BESIDE the interview area the night Big Daddy came out of the audience and asked Fritz Von Erich for a job. He was working on the Alaska Pipeline at the time and said he would wrestle anyone for $50. Fritz was doing an interview with Bill Mercer and Big Daddy completely interrupted it to ask for a job. I NOW know it was a work but 12 year old me was like, "Wow!! That dude was just in the audience and now he wrestles every week!" I wish we had Big Daddy for 20 more years. What an interview!!
God Bundy is great to listen to. I think the problem people who don't know him really well would have is that they can't immediately tell when he's pulling their leg.
I met him and big john studd when they came into my tech school. Turned out our teacher's wife worked at WWF back in the day. Man both of them were giants. Especially studd at 6'10".
Well you have a strange measuring tape because Studd was in reality about 6' 7" at the most. Next you'll be telling me the Undertaker was 6' 10" when he was actually 6' 7".
Also was in Brusters Millions with Richard Pryor and John Candy and has a resemblance to the mean prison bully in Stir Crazy also starring, Richard Pryor. Coincidence I guess, hhhmmm?
Twice as himself and Peg's brother. At the end of the episode where he played uncle Erwin he broke Al's door down with his head and yelled Hey Al! It's another wild weekend!
I saw his highschool yearbook photo, couldn't believe it he was actually a good looking guy. He made himself look mean by shaving his hair and eyebrows and gaining tons of weight. Seemed like a really cool guy.
King Kong Bundy (Christopher Pallies) was from New Jersey -- and had he lived (died from diabetes) he would have been a great actor. He appeared in "Married With Children," as a cousin and was quite good in the comedy. Al Bundy and his family are named after King Kong Bundy.
He's right about the PPV. When I was a kid we never saw main event matches on TV unless it was Saturday night main event that hardly ever happened, but when it did it was exciting. We would watch every Saturday morning and it was always just a big guy vs a jobber. It made those main events were so exciting when they finally came on.
First time hearing Bundy talk free-form like this. The man is hilarious. RIP. I got a VHS with him in some battle royale in the early 90s as a Christmas gift. Surprised he was only 61 when he died. I remember watching the VHS and thinking Bundy must have been an old guard wrestler about to retire. He looked like he was late 40s or early 50s in that match but he would have been in his 30s.
i remember him as uncle irwin smashing through door with his head ! and when they taped over hondo that must have been one heck of a wild set for that ep
Bundy came to my hometown and did a wrestling show for a charity. It was him and honky-tonk man after the show was over they went to the restaurant where I was workingthatevening. I had left about 20 minutes before they got there and my friend called me and said come back to the restaurant. Before I could get there they already had left. Bundy was my favorite heel ever and I actually got to see him wrestle Kerry Von Erich in Ada Oklahoma my hometown. I got his autograph and Bundy was such an amazing and compassionate human being.
Bundy had an iconic look to me as a kid that still has a lasting impression on me . As I grew up in the Rock n Wrestling era with the rubber LJN figures and what not .
A buddy of mine and me used to put the LJN figures on my ceiling fan blades, and would turn the fan on. Last to fall won our battle royal. Bundy never won ours, but hr sure did hurt getting hit on the head with...LOL
His brother used to work at Eagles Nest Country Club in South Jersey as a bartender. KKB would come in there sometime and have a few drinks and dinner at the bar. What a good fucking guy. Loved to talk wrestling.
A TRUE heel. Met Bundy briefly in Allentown PA at a TV taping. The sheer size of the man was incredible. Wasnt into fans but would give you a minute or two.
I met him at a house show back in 2001 in Beloit, WI, and I got his autograph. He was an exceedingly polite man, always thanking me for being a fan a d being at the show. My very limited experience is that the heels, when outside the ring, are some of the greatest people you could talk to. Bundy was no exception.
My mom worked with Bundt’s mom during the 80s and she surprised me one day with a whole packet of wrestling photos and programs that Chris had given his mom to give to my mom for me. I remember there was a 50 page program from Europe where I learned about Wanz, St. Clair, Schumann, etc.
😂😂😂😂😂. George South said the complete opposite. Greorge became lost on his first day and accidentally walked into Vince's office. George said they talked about 10 minutes and from that point George South became a fan. It appears Bundy had an issue with a lot of people.
Vince McMahon ruined wrestling. Once he commercialized it with Hulk Hogan in the 80's it was the end. He took the realness and the grittyness out of it. Studio, smaller event wrestling came across as real, arena wrestling brought out the not so realness. He exploited it and made as much as possible and dumped it and the internet was the final nail in the coffin, all the wrestlers now don't keep their character on and off camera. Completely unwatchable these days. The attitude era was cool, but u knew it wasn't real anymore by that time.

Hahahahaha so true
That rubber action figure got me into quite a bit of trouble when I was a kid lol
As a kid I always wondered why the Bundy figure weighed more than Andre. I guess they couldn't afford that much rubber?
