    In reference to 2:45,
    I think there are certain ceramic scissors that should be used to prevent any issues with sparking. This would be in case the anode and cathode make a circuit via the scissors snipping it.
    Or if the battery is damaged, certain ceramic scissors wouldnt cause a spark that could ignite anything.

And I could not find the battery with appropriate connector so I removed the Board from battery and used a powerbank's battery, since I didn't knew how to connect as solder would not stick to it I poked a hole through both terminal strip and used thin wires to connect both the terminals to and then solder the tip of wires to the board. Was enough to recover data. Great to see this method work. 😄

I have an ipad air2 2019, I bought in the US, and it's screen has lines. I dropped 6mths ago, so I guess that is why. It will open okay for 2mins, right when I think it is okay. Then it gets flickering lines, and shuts off the screen.
    I am a English teacher here in France and I use it for work. I have not found work for 10mths, hard for teachers with no contract. Anyway, I am just beside myself trying to figure out how I can get it repaired. Can you advise me?

    You actually have to activate the phone using DC current to the motherboard during first boot, then plug in the battery so the service warning doesn't show up.

    @julek43 Před 2 lety +5

    I'm pretty sure that you can unsolder these pads with regular soldering iron, then solder them to the new battery.
    I might be wrong but its worth trying

      Applying to much heat may damage the battery.

    • @LazorVideosDestruction
      @LazorVideosDestruction Před 2 lety +1

      They aren't soldered, they are spot welded.
      And like the guy above said, soldering directly to the battery can damage it because of the large amount of heat. That's why they are spot welded.

    • @prettyhard0150
      @prettyhard0150 Před 2 lety +1

      @@LazorVideosDestruction Yep. Thats the main reason why you want to use a spot wielder. Extreme heat or prolonged exposed on high heat will kill or destroy or lower the life expectancy of a battery. Hence you do not want to solder a battery. Specifically on a lithium battery.

    • @hojnikb
      @hojnikb Před 2 lety

      @@prettyhard0150 You also can't properly solder those connections anyway. lithiun cell are never solderded, you always spot weld them

    • @julek43
      @julek43 Před 2 lety

      @@LazorVideosDestruction yes, but the pads on the protection circut are soldered to the board itself and then welded to the battery tabs, tried this on my Dualschock 3 when i was changing the battery i got from DS4 and the boards were different.

    Apple: Replacing batteries is dangerous, users shouldn't do this on their own (IMPLEMENT BATTERY SERIAL VALIDATION)
    Users now: Instead of just plugging in the new battery are operating on pure cells and BMS (and THIS actually can be dangerous)
    🤦‍♂️

    I have a iPhone 14 Pro Max and when taking the old battery out damaged a flex cable behind the battery that had sticky adhesive protective covering over it. The flex cable goes across both sides of the phone width wise. Plus protective adhesive covered it over. I cannot screenshot or turn off my iPhone now so would this be the Volume , On / Off Flex cable that I need for my iPhone 14 Pro Max?

    Couple of years ago I tried that with my broken dell laptop battery. Unfortunately with premium dell laptops. They have installed a fuse that wipes the battery info from the bms so even if you re use the fuse the new cells wont have the required info. So even putting in the bms from identical battery wont allow current. Battery stats dead.

    I knew this trick from rebuilding laptop battery packs, on those the BMS needed to be powered when you switched over from worn cells to new ones. For some reason it freaked out if you removed power completely, so it was quite hassle.. First time seeing someone even mention about switching the BMS over to new cell on phone battery

    And if you aren't able to access a spot welder just use soldering iron instead( if you've knowledge about what you're doing )
    Have done this with a samsung phone too
    Took out high capacity samsung note battery and squeezed in a S series one.

    Absolutely worth it. Some of the things i don't trust on replacement batteries are their fake cut down bms lacking a lot of protections. If they cut down to much and emulate fake parameters for the phone it can explode. Like suppose the battery is over heating but the bms has no temparature sensor so it's just sending a false reading and then kaboom .
