Just want to say that I really appreciated your format. I upgraded to an iphone 14 pro yesterday, and I always watch videos to refresh my memory while setting up the phone. The video was very informative and I learned a few things that I was not aware of before.
I’m not tech savvy in anyway, you guys are amazing and so helpful. I love that you explain everything so clearly. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this valuable information. Keep up the good work.😊
By the way, you guys are my go to channel for everything about ios battery saver tips and updates 🥰
Ever since I retired, you guys have become my IT guys. Can’t thank you enough.

@@mijos3 first, payette forward is not IT, second, he just makes fake videos, for example he made a video on how iPhones get viruses, it's ofc fake, because app are run on sandboxes, so yeah, NO.

You guys have created many videos that address the issue of iPhone battery drain. Thanks for that - useful information.
But one subject you have avoided is CarPlay. I recently bought a new car that includes quite a bit of native automation. A neighbor suggested that using CarPlay would be easier than trying to learn totally new systems, but I quickly determined that CarPlay has a downside - it drains the phone battery rapidly. My car was designed support CarPlay through a wired connection to the phone - that worked, but it was a PITA to have to dig out the phone and plug it in, so I bought a dongle that provided a wireless connection. That also worked, but I found that a short 25 mile ride around town used almost 50% of the capacity of my phone battery - no way would that be practical for a long road trip!
Thank you guys so much! I barely had my iPhone for 4 months & the updates are giving me problems! thank you for telling me to turn a bunch of these useless switches off! That annoys me in the worst way with those unnecessary switches turned on! Gratitude ♥️🙏!
I always turn off background app refresh completely, and i still receive those emails and messages as it comes. Sweet battery life savings.
My user experience just got better! Thank you for these tips! ❤
🙋🏻♀Thank you! Been testing all these hacks for the last few days and the only one I needed to change back was “reduce motion”. . . It made clearing all the open apps harder for me. Not sure if I missed something about swiping up to clear them 🤔 Anyway everything else is 👍🏼 loving the dark mode screen!
Thank you for all the tips and your effort
The best video out there about the subject, thank you very much!
Just got a new phone and you’re my go to! This channel is fabulous!!
thank you big enough It helped my iphone 11 battery save after I saw the drain for a few weeks but this is amazing and works. youre being heroes
Thank you for sharing all this info on iphone settings and securities always. 👍🏼
Great video! I personally prefer manual brightness setting. Auto brightness to me consumes more battery as it uses a sensor to detect the environment real-time so it can adjust the brightness accordingly.
Same here, Auto brightness also confuses me sometimes when the screen is adjusting on it's own.
hey guys, thanks a lot for another video on drain matter. other times "Optimized battery charging" was advised to keep ON, as it helps to maintain the battery and kick up better life, and now you say to turn it off. what is best after all? I use ESR MFI cable and ESR fast charger.. appreciate
For Reduce White Point I just add the Accessibility control button in the Control Centre and it is just a tap on the button instead of 3 button push on the side.
Thanks, this video helps a lot. 🙇🏽
Telecommunications specialist here, on recent phones the drain difference between 4G and 5G is not noticeable because the modems are way more efficient than before. What can cause some loss of battery is if your area has poor 5G coverage and your phone needs to raise its power a little more to reach the tower. ... Remember, phones with 5G are seen as 1st class, by the network algorithm, in terms of priority to access towers ... For example, in a crowded place like a concert or stadium, the 5G capable phone might be able to make/receive a call while the non 5G phone will have to wait to connect to a busy tower...
There is so much good tips usually videos like this are really empty when i watch them for android but i guess Iphone have a lot more configuration possible. Im an Iphone user since few months only 😅
Thank you so much guys.. Hope it helps❤

Super tutorial! Thanks for bringing all these useful tips to our attention.
Unfortunately you guys are speaking so fast, it’s hard for me to memorise all of it and so to be able to change my settings. I was hoping to find and download the instructions PDF you’ve promised, unfortunately I could not find it.
Can you please send me the link. Thx
Helps a lot. Not only with battery but also with new informations. Thank you both a lot ❤
About closing apps. First year with my Iphone 13 Pro Max I used to close apps all the time. Probably 2-3 times a day on average. Battery health drained 11% in the first year. Had all the important battery saving settings checked. Second year of use I stopped closing apps and battery health drained only 2%. The only different thing I personally did was that I stopped closing apps in the background. Now I do it maybe once or twice every 3-4 weeks. Now I’m sitting at 87% after two years. Wish I knew that since the beginning. By the way I still use motion, haptics etc.
omg someone really said that LPM damages battery .
I did not know this and glad i saw your comment, i guess closing apps in the background makes it worse which is weird
Love your videos. What iOS do you have? I have 17.1.2 on an iPhone 13, but there is no "WiFi" setting to manage and I am planning a trip to Europe in September 2024
what a video Im about to move to iphone and I really need this video, thanks guys!!!
Thanks a lot for all these great tips and videos
I just learned the triple click right for accessibility shortcut 🤙🏼
I didn’t even know half these settings where a thing thank you lol
I just realized the Clips app on my iphone was at 35% battery usage and I only opened it once to see what it was about. I closed it right after but it is still number one in the battery usage list😵💫so I deleted the app. thanks for the additional tips, I'm already seeing battery life improvement😃
I have a big question about location settings- it occurs to me that apple is probably pretty economical with this service.
It’s most likely the cases that if you have even one location setting turned on that is used with any frequency that apple probably is going to ping you with that pretty frequently and then share that ping with all other apps that wish to know where you are.
This would mean that if you use any location detection then you might as well have them all on. I do not believe apple is running separate location pings for every single switch that is turned on, they’re probably pinging at the lowest frequency they can for the location services you have on and then just sharing them across the board.
The only thing that could really help with battery in location settings is either turning everything off (even then, there’s probably background stuff apple won’t let you change) OR turning off anything that is constant and only having the occasional one turned on.
I’d like to know more and hear your thoughts- maybe a video.
oh this time my 19 minutes werent listening to people whom talk just to talk but with you guys it was fruitful and thank you.
Ayo this worked for a iPhone 7 on ios 15.8 😮 keep it up
i was wondering if you guys have any tips about the iphone photos app constantly running in the background and draining battery?! it’s even worse when it’s charging! thank you!
As far as AOD goes, you CAN turn it on in Automations now! I use it daily when I connect it to my charger. It shuts off when I remove it from power
The first time I watched a video like this on this channel I had a button, now i have a notch and they now have a freaking island😅
This keeps getting better and better😂😂
Thank you for great tutorials ! As a new user I’m starting with an I PhoneXR ,an older
phone
What do you think of Guardio for safety for phone ?
Can your carrier actually spy & track you ?
I have an iPhone SE 1st gen, replaced the battery it says 100% health but it drains by the minute, the old battery I had would last a lot longer even though it was at 87%.
One more things which drain battery are some widgets which refresh using data like the weather widget both on your Home Screen and Lock Screen so if you have a bunch of widgets that aren’t useful get rid of them and animated Lock Screens will drain your battery a little bit as well.
My friend has been charging his phone every single day since launch day and still sits at 100%. I rarely use my phone and only charge it every 3 days and now I'm at 96%. I never let it drop below 20% before putting it on the charger so I'm guessing this is some sort of a quality control issue
Thanks for this video. My 14PM is already down to 91% after 6 months. Always been a PM user and never had a degradation this fast before.
you know it doesnt only depend on the settings, it also depends on how often you use your iPhone and how often you charge it
here's a tip: try not to charge your iPhone above 80% and not to drain it below 20%, trust me you will notice the difference
@@G_Healthy that makes 60% of the battery time which makes 4hrs lesser battery life , i use IP FOR OUTDOORS MAY BE YOUR TIP WORK FOR THOSE WHO USES THEIR PHONE FOR CHECKING TIME 😂
@@mrconfident786it’s more like saving your phone’s battery health for when you actually have to utilize it. If you can have a charger available the 80-20 is a good to go.
I’ve followed it without any sort of “mental gymnastics” and has lasted me throughout the day. And when I have to use it longer without charging, I just crank it up to whatever I want because at the end of the day, I did buy it to use it.
Apple is mocking us all!!!
@@mrconfident786nah just buy a new one once it degrades under 80
Ever since updated to iOS 16 my battery drain has been terrible. I thought the updates may fix it but now at 16.5 it is even worse. I just about to have to keep the phone on a charger because of the fast drain. Battery was usage was good before 16 and my battery health reads 100%. The battery was replaced on this phone less than 2 yrs. ago. I have tried every tip from this and other sites to stop it but to no avail. I charged the phone to 100% yesterday before bed time and left off of the charger overnight. In the morning it was at 22% just sitting there on the table beside the bed. I am at wits end as my phone is rapidly becoming useless unless hooked up to a charger.
Made me do update other day on my iPhone11 and it’s been getting hot and draining quicker.. smh
My iPhone XR battery is draining fast too fast.
I love this video, thanks!
Ty I just got my iPhone 14 Pro I hope this video helps me!
Would a charging station (if you have one at home) harm the battery?
I want to know if anyone has experienced any recent battery drain issues since updating to iOS 16.5. I could go a full ten hours at work and only lose 20-25% and yesterday I lost 40% with the same or less usage.
Will try this on my Ipad 10 not that Ipad needs it but I still give it a go.
After following your suggestions, my phone battery suddenly stopped draining its charge, much to my surprise. thank you so much.. yesterday i got my iphone 14+ and i was facing this problem but now I'm very happy ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤love from india
This help me so much
And I love you guys❤
Thanks!! really good advices
I am experiencing the same thing I just switched to iPhone and I notice that once I got the new update my battery is draining faster than usual. Normally I would get 2 days worth of charge. I charge at 91% at 9pm by 5am its already at 59%.
One of the biggest one you left out is notification summary. If you are constantly getting unnecessary notifications it will drain your battery a ton.
I can’t do the reduce motion. It’s been two weeks and it’s on delay 😂. Thank for the tips
There’s something going on with the iOS. Ever since 16.6 I get periods of drain at like 8-10% per hour at just it on standby. At first it was after an update but now it happens unprovoked. This will last a few days and return to normal. Curiously if I put it in airplane mode during these periods it’ll drain 1% overnight 8 hours. So there’s something going on in the background when connected.
Hi guys
Great video right there!
Please how did you put the second iPhone beside the screen with the complete body of the iPhone? I want to learn that
Hi guys! I followed your advice on my ( non cellular iPad). But it still needs constant recharging and it’s quite new. Also l’m wondering if l deactivated too many things! Anyway, thanks for your hints. I do not have a very technical mind! 🙏😊🇬🇧
I have been using a 25 watt adapter from Samsung for years to charge the Pro Max models. All devices were still 100% after 1.5 years..
Great gouge. Thank you for your expertise.
These settings do help a lot on my 12 Pro, but enabling low power mode also when not connected to the charger does help me at least get the battery life to what I deem acceptable. My next iPhone will be the Pro Max model or whatever they call it this time, and maybe on that I won’t need low power mode.
Hope u have a list,bc i cant remember every site u said to turn off
Much appreciated. 🎉
Thanks for the tips, I will be back after a year to update my battery life
Pls update
Hi, thanks for the video.
I just bought it and I am facing severe battery drain...it is very bad. I removed all widgets from home screen and screensaver and turned off rase to wake.
And it is sowing "Home & Lock Screen" 13% for 28min of usage.
Do you have any similar issue and solution for it? Thanks
Question about closing apps out - if loading up a new app takes more battery what’s the point of me not closing my apps out if when I go back to that specific apps it restarts the loading process and I don’t continue off where I was before? (I try to use the same setting as y’all and maybe this might be the background refresh?)
I always close down apps whenever im done using them, I see no need for them to be open unless I use them a lot like every few minutes. Sure it might take a little more to start up an app from scratch than from the app switcher, but it's so little.
I managed to have battery health at 99% after 2 years of daily use. What I do is to set up an automatic shortcut to make some noise (or make announcement) when charged to 85% so I can unplug. I also set up another shortcut to make noise at 30% to remind me to charge.
To extend the life of battery, try maintaining the battery between 30-85% all the time, and there should be minimal degradation after a couple of years, depending on the usage.
How did you set those custom shortcuts. I just switched from android to iphone, I would love to know how to set them, if you could help
@@sourajitdeb4871 Create a new automation in shortcut app, and set to trigger when the battery is below or above certain percentage. You can then create whatever ways to alert you.
Yes, please share how to set up these alerts.
My iPhone 12 mini was at 87% but I turned on optimize charging because I thought it might help and it automatically dropped to 78% in less than a month 😱 I need to do any and everything to maintain the remaining life of my battery. Many of the settings discussed in this video were on so hoping shutting those settings off will help too but any and all tips appreciated!
@@destinyxrose Start shortcut app and do the followings:
1. Click the middle bottom tab "Automation"
2. Click top right corner + sign
3. Scroll own to around mid bottom to find "Battery Level", and click it.
4. Select Rises Above 50%, and change the top slider to 80% (or whatever percentage you wish to charge to). Tick Run Immediately at the bottom. Hit next.
5. search speak, then select "Speak Text" below.
6. Change the blue "Text" to whatever you wish your iPhone to say out loud when it's charging to this level. e.g. Self destruct sequence commencing in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
7. Save it by hitting Done on the top right corner.
That should do it, if I didn't omit anything in the instruction.
@@destinyxroseyou can setup automation - battery charging - equals to 80% - action -speak
Great video! 👍🏻
Nice stuff, please keep the phone image on the screen, being on a different version and checking other items make it necessary to pause, backup and go forward more than should be necessary. A constant bread crumb graphic might be a spiffy idea.
I recently got AirPods and have noticed a sudden drop in battery life. Are there any settings related to AirPods that I should consider? Thx
Ehi @Payette Forward, what’s your opinion about the Charging Optimisation: 80% limit? Not sure whether it is a feature of iPhone 15 or iOS 17!
Dude bro this is just so good I mean not just fast yes that is so real and good
Thank you!
16:25 does that mean if i turn off significant locations then my optimized battery charging won't work anymore???
Updated my phone 14 pro and now is charging very slow when plugged in while using an app. I’m on 17.0.3
Informative Video
Can I put my iphone 14 always start on homescreen when I switch it on not on the last app I was using please? Thanks
It drains all my battery life just turning on and of all the settings that you suggested . Uff… Then I got them back the way they were :) Nice video guys. I was just kidding.
I love you guy's😊🎉 thanks a lot❤
I have been using reduced white point for years. Recently I tried something and had a dramatic impact in battery life on my 3 year old iphone. Turning off white point and auto-brightness and committing to never using more than 50% brightness. I even use a brighter setting inside to avoid micro adjustments and my iphone went to lasting a day to lasting 1 day and a half easily and with more usage without doing much else.
I upgraded/transfered my data from my old iphone 13 pro to my iphone 15 pro and on the new device Home and Lock screen is using most of the battery. I've no widgets, no auto wake and enabled low power mode. It still is my top battery draining app. Any suggestion on what to do with home and lock screen to stop it from draining battery?
Thanks ❤
One thing i hate about the always-on display is that even if you have show wallpaper off, the fullscreen album cover will override this.
is it safe to still use the belkin mag safe charger over night that apple sells even with the optimized charging and clean energy turned off?
Do these tips apply for an iPad Pro as well?
Hey Guys , question for you….I live in an area without cell service. Yes, such places exist. I do have wifi though. I turn off the cell service app on my phone because there is no point for my phone to continue my search for service we’re it doesn’t exist. Yet under battery health it states that no cell coverage uses 42% of battery life??? How can this be? Am I missing something? Thank you for all your great videos! You two rock! 🙏🏻🕊️
What is considered a charger that has too high of an amperage? Is a 30W USB-C power adapter (for Mac) safe for regular charging of the iPhone 11? Thank you!
Since no one else answered. Any Apple charger will auto negotiate the best charge rate for any phone and not just slam them with charge. Most iPhones will only pull 28watts max even on a 65w charger
I don’t recommend switching off optimize battery charging that’s a very important feature
Thank you! I had my iPhone PLUGGED INTO POWER and it was draining. I don't remember which tip it was, but it was early on. That finally changed and my battery is charging up again. "Whew". Seems a little nuts to me that Apple sets a product they sell to wear out quickly. But hey, people are insane these days and insanely greedy. Appreciate all the tips guys!
So basically your phone was not charging while plugged in?
Hi, in this video you recommend to turn of optimizated battery charging. Why? How this helps to improve battery time or health? In previous films you suggested to turn this feature on...
I am new for IPhone after the setting… am not able to see in background like PIP..
plz note PIP also enabled. Much appreciated if my issue is resolved
I don't have an iPhone although I have a feeling there's one connected to this as in like a department issue device.
18:15 Somebody's a fan of the XFM Ricky Gervais Show.
Thought they’d somehow synced with my phone there! Creeped me out
is color filters and zoomed mode(larger text) draining battery? i have a friend who uses it and i think its a way better experience, but i am not sure if it drains battery
Hello guys, did you all notice that text tones sounds lower than ringtones? Any suggestion how to fix this issue? Ringtones are loud but text tones arent, even under max volume level
