For those wondering why he cries at the end, none of the kids in school ever touch him because they'll get "the plague" (or something). When that boy shook his hand and also complimented him for standing up for himself, I think it was the first time one of the kids (besides his friends) touched him and also valued him. It's an emotional release. Very touching.
Ending was bit emotional i couldn't hold my tears.. The main character is reflection of many young kids who happen to undergo serious bullying..

@@HS-md1er I'd say he was trying to collect himself or give himself a moment while he was overcome with emotion, hence why he stepped away from the group.
The rest joined him to show solidarity and support. Being boys, I guess that's how they handle emotions and how they bond. If they were girls they'd probably be hugging it out and having a good cry! Not all of course..
Looking out to sea may also be symbolic of looking into a calmer, better future.

Absolutely remarkable how they all knew exactly what he was feeling which is why they all give him a warm embrace before they skip rocks; ive had something similar to this play out in my own life and its a beautiful feeling to hug a person thats crying with joy and relief
This has got to be one of the best movies of all time because it perfectly raises awareness and celebrates how unique and special people can be even with a slight face deformation or disability. This movie perfectly shows that there is nothing is wrong with being different and nothing can stop you from achieving great things 👍

When this movie came out, my class won a contest to watch the movie 2 months before it released in theaters. I was in the first showing of Wonder, along with about 20 other people. I think we watched it in early October 2017. I watched it again with my family when it was actually released in late November.
auggie is actually really adorable inside and out I love him so much and this broke my heart but its also so heartwarming
