About Spider-Man Movie:
After incorporating elements of comic book style and design into many of his films, director Sam Raimi helms this straight-ahead, big-budget comic book adaptation, which also marks acclaimed young actor Tobey Maguire's first dip into live-action blockbuster filmmaking. Spider-Man follows the template of the original Stan Lee/Steve Ditko source material, with hero Peter Parker an orphaned, intellectual teen loner living in Queens with his aunt (Rosemary Harris) and uncle (Cliff Robertson), and dreaming of the girl next door, Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst). On a field trip to a Columbia University lab, Peter is bitten by a genetically altered spider and overnight he gains superhuman strength, agility, and perception. At first, Peter uses his powers for material gain, winning a wrestling match with a purportedly lucrative prize. It always kills me how when the bully is doing what they do everyone is all cool with it and laughing along with them. But the minute the victim stands up for themselves, it’s all of a sudden a problem. People seem to forget that we all have our limits. You can’t bully a person forever and expect them not to stand up at some point.
It’s intimidation. They cheer for him mainly due to fear of becoming a target to the bully. That’s why also in real life hardly anyone stands up for victims.

I was 16 years old when this movie came out in 2002. I had just got my driver's license and my first car. I saw this movie 5 times in the theaters with my friends. It did such a good job of capturing the awkwardness of being a teenager, making Peter so relatable to my dorky self, wanting to ask the girl next door out, worrying about what to do after high school. Even after Peter gets all these powers, he still has to deal with the regular coming-of-age angsty stuff. And Kirsten Dunst was SO HOT in this movie.

Это касается не только человека паука ,но и других проектов снятых в 90-е в начале нулевых.
Сейчас я смотрю новые фильмы и они меня абсолютно не цепляют ни по одному из выше перечисленных параметров. Современные фильмы какие то непродуманные , сделаны без души ,без энтузиазма.
Душу вытеснили IT прогресс, толерастия и бабки, вот и весь секрет. Раньше каждый персонаж и сюжетная арка были продуманы до мелочей, герой долго работал над собой и имел свои слабости. Реалистичности было больше, чем сплошной CGI. А теперь любого условного Джона можно «сделать»супергероем, причём с рождения. И пока люди будут ходить на это перемен не будет

My favorite part is the voice of the female extra in the background who says "How'd he do that?" and then cheers when Flash gets punched across the hallway, and then says "I'm outta here!" after the fight ends.

God I love this scene so much
It shows how spider sense works. Alot of people just think it's just tells you danger, but it's all more than that. It gives peter a omnidirectional sense of his surroundings, hence the fly and spitball. (This is how he swings his webs without looking to aim)
The only power that out matches the spider sense is daredevils radar sense

Flash Thompson gets a taste of his own medicine for those times when he bullied Peter and made everyone follow along with him. After all those students seeing that fight, they should’ve got the message “No one messes with Peter Parker”!

I love the trope of the kid getting super powers and doing all these crazy superhuman things, but none of their friends question it or thinks it's weird. Everyone just saw Peter, the skinny little nerd kid, do like 3 backflips in the air and body the biggest bully in the school, and no one questions it at all. Harry is just like, "woah Pete, that was cool!" As if it's totally normal for a 14-16 year old to do what Peter just did. I know it's a goofy comic book movie, and I'm not mad or anything about this trope. I just find it funny that it's everywhere and I haven't seen anyone mention it.

Given how strong Peter REALLY is when he gets his powers, Flash is VERY lucky that that punch didnt kill him. Also if I were Peter, after Flash's buddy called me a freak I wouldve said: "you want to be the next one to fly down the hallway".
That would've been so cool but at that stage Peter was hella awkward and insecure, which kind of added to his appeal imo

Flash tried to punch Peter in the head. If Peter didn't have powers, Flash could've killed him if he didn't know what he was doing.
In reality that punch *would* have killed Flash, no question. Any impact strong enough to send you flying like that is going to be massive trauma to the internal organs, probably destroying most of them instantly. It's actually a miracle that the punch didn't go straight through Flash.

I never thought about this as a kid but it's amazing he didn't kill Flash in this scene by mistake. He didn't know how strong he was so if he actually threw a real punch it probably would have gone right through him. Makes me think of the comic where doc ock switches bodies with peter and punches the scorpions jaw clean off.
If you do the math, you'll see the kinetic energy of that punch was comparable o that of a .50 BMG round, which is way more than enough to kill any human on impact.
@Dime3931 Well, Peter kind of punched Flash in the chest causing Flash to fly across the hall landing on his back without hitting his head so he (Flash) couldn't of been killed. On the other hand, when Peter was in the wrestling match with the wrestling champion Bonesaw McGraw, he caused Bonesaw to fly across the wrestling ring landing head first which either killed Bonesaw making him brain damaged or knocked him out making Peter the winner.
It would be funny if this is how Flash got paralyzed in this universe.
