FILM DESCRIPTION:
Darren (Chris Massoglia) is just like any other teenager, until the day he encounters the Cirque du Freak and a vampire named Larten Crepsley (John C. Reilly). After Crepsley turns him into one of the undead, Darren joins the traveling sideshow and its parade of weird and monstrous creatures. As he learns to use his newfound powers, Darren unwittingly becomes a pawn in the struggle between vampire factions.

I still remember when I was like 9 years old and saw this particular scene in television as I said goodnight to my parents. For years I thought this was Spider-Man but for some reason I never saw a scene like this in any Spider-Man movie. I thought maybe I just remembered the scene wrong but I was confused as I still had clear memory of what I saw. It was until today that I thought my memory was wrong. How tf can a movie scene look so much like Spider-Man? For over 10 years this scene made me doubt my memory. Wtf

I'll be honest, having read the book series, it felt like I got Percy Jackson'd, Eragon'd and Artemis Fowl'd. 😭 This movie also replaced the love interest from the books (who was a woman of color, Debbie Hemlock) with the monkey girl Rebecca... Did not sit right with me. I missed Debbie. 🥺
