    I wonder if it is possible to install a secondary internal SATA 2.5-inch SSD in this laptop, using the HDD1 connector located near the battery connector. Any ideas?

      Yes it will work, you just need to buy a cable and a mount bracket for the 2.5" HDD/SSD.

    Does DELL allow to change the ram frequency of a upgraded RAM? From standard 21333 to 26666. I have a Dell 7560

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  Před 4 lety

      Intel's 7st generation CPU supports only 2133MHz RAM frequency. You can put in it 2400MHz or 2666Mhz RAM modules but it will work at 2133MHz so technically no benefits at all maybe except the price.

    Hello, I've got a complex problem maybe you can help me out with.
    I got a Dell Inspiron 15 7573 2-in-1 laptop with an i5 8250U with a single stick of 8GB of RAM. I tried to upgrade the RAM using a set of Kingston 2X16GB = 32GB 2400MHz CL 17 that I bought used from eBay but my laptop would end up with a blackscreen and would not boot into BIOS. I removed one stick and it finally would boot into BIOS with no problem but soon after entering my Windows 11 homescreen I would get multiple lines going across my screen, then some stuttering and then my laptop will eventually freeze. So then I bought a brand new set of G.Skill Ripjaws 2666MHz CL18 and either both or just one stick will cause a black screen and no BIOS. I really want to install a 2x16GB = 32GB kit but I don't want to spend $102.99 EACH stick, on supposedly "compatible" memory Directly from Dell. Crucial does have a 2X16GB kit that they state it is 100% compatible with my laptop and is $117, or would a slower kit like a 2133MHz work better or maybe just get a 2x8GB = 16gb kit? Or is there really something wrong with my laptop itself? I'm really confused at this point. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  Před rokem +1

      It's a tricky question. First of all, the maximum theoretical RAM size for that CPU is 32GB but very often for one reason or another the max size of RAM is limited by the manufacturer of the laptop (motherboard). For example the max size for my laptop by CPU specs is 128GB but my laptop supports only 64GB. I'd suggest buying 2x8GB DDR4-2400 modules. If you don't work with virtualization 16GB will be more than enough for daily tasks. Also try to buy 2x16GB Samsung DDR4-2400MHz but do it an a place where you can return them if it didn't work out eventually.

    • @blueblade455
      @blueblade455 Před rokem

      @Electronics&Computers I guess the algorithm must have deleted my last comment. According to the specifications from Dell this laptop should support up to 16GB each slot.
      So yesterday I did return the 32GB G.Skill kit back to my local Microcenter and exchanged it for two individual sticks of Crucial 16GB 2400MHz CL17 but unfortunately I'm still getting a black screen with both sticks installed and with only one stick it boots fine but I might get an occasional freeze or blue screen and Windows Event Viewer logged in a memory dump issue. Good thing my original Kingston 8GB 2400MHz CL17 stick never had any single issue at all.
      I hate to end up buying directly from Dell as I spoke with one of their sales reps (who I think just probably wants to sell me their Dell branded 2666MHz memory) guarantees them to work. Perhaps you're right, maybe this laptop truly only supports Single Rank (1Rx8) 8GB 2400MHz sticks or maybe Dual Rank (2Rx8) 16GB sticks but at 2166MHz speed, despite what the specifications call for.
      I'll probably just end up getting the 2x8gb 2400 kit next. I'll let you know what finally ends up working for me. Thanks for your advice!

  • @weedstud
    @weedstud Před 5 lety

    For Dell's memory, should it be dual rank or single rank? Thanks.

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  Před 5 lety

      It doesn't matter but:
      Dual rank can have a small performance advantage over single rank (of up to 5% or more) in certain applications.
      There are no issues
      with dual rank in one channel (slot) and single rank in the other
      channel (which might happen with an original single rank module).
      Replacing single rank with dual rank probably isn't worth the money, since the typical performance gain is usually quite small.

    Hello there. I am looking into a second hand model Dell Inspiron 15-7000 series 7586.
    2019 release date.
    Has only 8gb of ram with 512gb ssd.
    I ask the owner if the RAM is upgradable, he said Yes.
    But I can't see any reviews about it. I just want to make sure I can upgrade its RAM before buying it.

      Yes, the RAM is upgradable. That model has 2 slots and supports maximum 32Gb. So, you can install 2 modules by 8Gb or 16Gb.

      Your RAM modules have nothing to do with your data. All your data is on hard drive or SSD. RAM modules store only data from running applications and operating system. When you turn off your PC all the data from RAM is gone.

    Hi .
    I'm looking forward to upgrading my ram size (dell 7567).
    I have already listed out a few rams. I just need your help in checking whether it is compatible for my laptop. and suggest the best from those I'm gonna list below.

    1. HyperX HX424S14IB2/8 Impact Black 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 Non-ECC CL14 260-pin Unbuffered SODIMM
    2. ADATA Premier 8GB DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM RAM Memory for Laptop (AD4S240038G17-R)
    3. Crucial CT8G4SFS824A 8GB DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 CL-17 SODIMM RAM
    4. Crucial 8GB DDR4 2400 PC4 192000 CL17

    Is it necessary that the CAS Latency of the rams in two slots be the same?
    I mainly focus on architecture rendering software's and gaming performance.
    Apart from dell ram. among these 4 ram which will perform the best. Please do give an immediate reply.
