    Thanks. I feel more comfortable removing the back cover and I also liked your advice to be mindful of the screen when putting it back together. Well done.

    I have an older model and it is a pain in the ass to open it, inspiron 14 3467. You have to unscrew the back cover, then you have to remove the keyboard and finally you can remove the back cover.

    Is this what you call a clean install?
    Have you got a link to everything you put onto the USB Stick please?
    Thanks

    • @SkullAngel002
      @SkullAngel002 Před 2 lety

      No, a clean install is a Windows installation by itself, direct from Microsoft. The version of Windows that comes with this laptop has Dell software and trial commercial software (aka bloatware) that slows the computer down.

    Hi Dale, I have a Dell Inspiron 3580 laptop. My HDD went bad. I tried to update with a M.2 SATA SSD. However, when I run Media Creation Tool , accepted License. On the next screen, it DID NOT recognize the M.2 SSD. There was NO drive listed. I returned that M.2 SSD and got a 2.5" SSD. The installation went Smoothly. Do you know why the Laptop would not recognize the M.2 SATA SSD? GREAT VIDEO. THANK YOU!

    • @CadillacComputerCenter
      @CadillacComputerCenter  Před 2 lety +1

      The m.2 sata ssd may not work. Instead, possibly an m.2 nvme ssd would be a better choice.

    Can I add a SATA 2.5 870 EVO 1TB, or SSD 980 NVME M.2 SSD??

    • @Demoralized88
      @Demoralized88 Před 6 měsíci

      You can add any Sata 2.5, or any M.2 SSD but replacing the M.2 will require reinstalling Windows or 'cloning' the current M.2 to have it boot up normally. You can buy a USB to M.2 or Sata adapter to easily clone the current drive to a new uninstalled drive. Adding a second drive never requires installing Windows or having to do anything outside of it, but usually the M.2 is the boot drive on newer Laptops. An NVME M.2 drive has higher maximum speeds than any Sata 2.5" drive, but a new NVME drive may not be noticeably faster than the factory drive and a Sata SSD is plenty fast for extra storage.
      But yes, the 3593 and 3793 have one slot each of 2.5 Sata and M.2 NVME, so you can add anything to either.
