Just got my G&L Legacy and yes these guitars are right up there with Fender or any Fender I've ever played but I'm an amateur. At first, I thought the neck was too big but no problem, it's as easy as any guitar, just different and sounds great.
Hi Jon, I have just bought this guitar exactly the same finish and wow! Couldn’t be any happier. Stumbled across your channel and instantly subscribed. Your playing is amazing, so cool!
Sounds beautiful. I got one and the quality was very poor(USA), but it sounds beautiful like this. My playing is nothing like yours. Love your videos!!!
Nice Strat. I’d love you to compare to a USA Strat one day. I just had some boutique pickups made for me hand made with a quality harness, I’m installing them Sunday. I’ve never been happy with my USA Strat, it sounds nice on its own, but does not cut through in the mix well. This G&L has sound of its own, it’s got more punch that a standard Fender I would say. Keep up the great videos Jonathan, it’s always a great pleasure watching them.

I never really considered G&L before, but after seeing you demo them, they suddenly seem like much better guitars than I thought. Pretty much everyone I've else I've seen on CZcams seem to get a bad tone out of them. I saw someone playing 2 G&Ls in concert last summer and I was surprised it sounded good. Just learned the other day Paul Leary used one to get some of my favorite tones and at the same time you're coming out with all these great demos, so now I'm seriously considering buying one. I think I want the MFD jumbo pickups.
Hey there Jonathon, nice G&L :-) I have noticed something that has happened to my personal wonderful world of guitar playing. After having tried so many types and styles of different guitars through out the years I have come to the conclusion some years ago that the most reliable, comfortable, well made, best sounding guitar that ( for me) ticks all the boxes is a Stratocaster... Will be selling all the others and will just keep my 4-Stratocasters. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed the L.P.'s anaford other types for many years, but there's just something mystical about putting on a Stratocaster and playing for hours, they are so darn versatile, and tones are to die for lol. Nice playing, and looks like that G&L looks fun to play...
@leftymadrid I'm a Strat man , but recently loved my G&L ASAT Bluesboy, thanks to Jonathan demo. And I was lucky to find a very good used SG Standard with 490 pick ups. These all 3 are my favorite. But I won't sell my Tokai LPs and ESs.
Thanks for the videos of G&L guitars. They are the best that I've seen on youtube. Currently, I plan to buy one of those guitars in the tribute series, but I don't decide between the tribute legacy hss or the tribute Asat deluxe carved top, if you could get this last guitar and make a video it would be fabulous.
Beautiful and soulful playing. I have a first year (2005) Eric Johnson Strat and also a 1999 G&L USA Legacy with a rosewood fretboard and I feel the G&L is every bit as good. Hi Jonathan, many years ago when I played quite a lot with my band I switched from 10 to 9 to have less tension on the strings and have better playability. But indeed I could go back to 10 and see if like it more nowadays. If I understand you correctly you think playability is also better with 10s? Thnx Ton

Malcolm Hardwick thank you Malcolm.. ain’t it the truth??
Smaller strings does not mean they sound thinner, see this link czcams.com/video/42lF0ITBKHk/video.html
I know about that video..To me there's not much difference in tone...But when you are using a lighter gauge and switch to a heavier gauge, you will know the difference. Try it out yourself and let me know! ✌
Hi Jonathan, many years ago when I played quite a lot with my band I switched from 10 to 9 to have less tension on the strings and have better playability. But indeed I could go back to 10 and see if like it more nowadays. If I understand you correctly you think playability is also better with 10s? Thnx Ton
I find I don’t break strings so easily.. that is important to me especially when I’ll playing live. I also find that I stay in tune much better with 10s rather than 8s or 9s
Ok, that's interesting , nice, good to know, thanks👍
0 dislikes. As it should be lol

How can you be "pro Fender" and be anti G&L. It's literally Leo's second guitar company.
