    Quick question, so im 6'2 308lbs. Ive been going on a weight loss journey, i started the year out close to 350lbs. Even at my current size i can dunk, i notice ive been jumping higher due to weight loss. My playing qeight back in highschool was 215. So my question, how much higher can i expect to jump once i reach my goal weight of 215? Keep in mind, i am currently 308lbs and can dunk on a 10ft rim

    • @j1nx202
      @j1nx202 Před měsícem +1

      as long as you keep your strength around the same you should see huge increases since jumping is about force to weight ratio. You keep the force the same but decrease your weight then you will jump higher. I saw this this about how in a perfect world where you lose weight and keep the exact same strength you can dead ass gain like 10 inches or something but I don't quite remember the exact number

      Lol I wasn't always this big, had a back injury, and during the healing process, I put on a lot of weight. Once I healed up I started hooping again, but my diet became very poor. So as I continued to put the weight on I stayed active on the court

    • @theheebs100
      @theheebs100 Před měsícem

      would depend on how much strength you lose when cutting all that weight.
      but as another point, if you can really dunk that weight and height, that is insane. I want to see that!

    • @dennisrobinson8008
      @dennisrobinson8008 Před měsícem

      I know you asked Isaiah. The protein level should support your bodyweight in that activity. If you need a little more muscle it would be a little more protein. If you are at your fighting weight and need to maintain, you would adjust your protein so it maintains that weight and is not a surplus.

    • @vanlight7826
      @vanlight7826 Před měsícem

      Yes of course. Keep the calorie deficit not too big and make sure you get your daily protein intakes for your bodyweight. And ofcourse, keep training hard !

      I've been in this shape 2+ years now bro and I feel like it's just part of life now. I eat A LOT of fruit. Constantly hydrated. Most days I'll have peanut butter or jam on toast + fruit and also a big lemon, honey, ginger and 🍓 tea. Lunch is 50/50 I either have it or I don't. When I do it'll be salt and pepper oven cooked chips 🍟 + fruit. Then dinner will be vegetables and chips or something. Or a big soup/veg stew with cashews. And some fruit. Then maybe a cake or something after.
      I train mostly every night and then get to rest a lot in the day with what I do. Good quality sleep is key too.
      But yeah I've never felt fitter, faster, stronger or more explosive. Some people say it's 80% diet 20% training...I'd say it's 50/50. Yeah you need the right fuel, but you need to still use it well. Hope that helps👊

      Most people feel lethargic and have less energy trying to maintain less than 10% of body fat. I think 10-15% is more realistic. The body does need a certain level of body fat to function properly.
