10 years from now all the professional dunkers are gonna be talking ab how this channel inspired them
That means a lot
💯💯💯 true bro!
The fastest way to defeat this is using full range of motion through the ankle, knee and hip. And you don’t have to stop playing or jumping. I’ve had athletes say their pain is gone literally in one workout. The LONGEST it’s EVER taken one of my athletes is 2 weeks. Read my whole article on jumper’s knee here: www.gephartstrength.com/single-post/2019/12/19/How-To-Eliminate-Jumpers-Knee-With-This-One-Exercise And try this front foot elevated split squat and watch how your knees heal and get stronger! czcams.com/video/CTCRK8G34fo/video.html

Hi Isaiah! I enjoy your video so much there are so many good information to learn, but I just have one question that is osgood-schlatter disease the same as jumper's knee? Can I use the technique of load management on that as well:)
First time watching your video. Great one! Where can I listen to the podcast?
Thanks bro my shin got a real split playing basketball.
I have really bad knee pain during, and after basketball sessions. Will I lose a significant amount of vertical ability by doing this ?
Knee pain been holding my verts back since i was 16yo and now im 20 😭😭

How long did you take a break from dunking? And are slow eccentric movements also good for fixing knee pain? Good series btw keep it up Isiah!
I also once rested for a whole day because I had a headache and went out to play after I had recovered (basically slept for 5 hours plus 9h of sleep that night). I ended up jumping without knee pain for the first time in a long time and could do dunks like the back scratcher on a 10 foot rim where as I before that could barely even dunk on it because of the knee pain.
6 weeks
Amazing 👌
Cool video
@Isaiah Revira
Should I skip my legs day at the gym?
The research you guys talk about is it Rio and Cook if I understand correctly?
My knee pain is medial and a little up on my left knee idk what is causing it (like what part of the knee) but it's slowly getting better... It's not the patellar tendon or the quadraceps tendon.
I had something like that when i was around 12 years old. Doctor said i was born with it . Then i was fully okay few months later
Can you talk about shin splints and hip pain?

The thumbnail for this video is epically underrated. I can imagine 5 year old Isaiah when he didn’t get what he wanted.
Bro I have had knee pain for 8 weeks and I hope this works. I have been so mad about not being able to jump. I love to dunk and I dream of being a great dunker just my man Isaiah.
fr I solved my knee pain from jumping solely due to Isaiah and Ben Patrick
I started my isometrics yesterday and did the leg extension hold for 45 seconds 5 sets. Today my knee is swollen particularly around the top of the knee and it hurts. Is that normal?
do you have advice/experience with athletes that had knee surgery (ACL+meniscus).
Because i had a surgery (3 years ago). Now my knee isn't the same (obviously). But it feels like i can't activate the correct muscle patterns wich leads to a feeling of instability and pain. I really think that a not optimal working nerve is the cause. It's hard to properly activate my VMO and even harder to creat a stable foot arch. The correct activation pattern should be subconsciously but it isn't.
Can you do a video on how to heal shin spits
Yo finally i can get rid of my kneecap pain
Broo i literally just worked out and i probably overtrained and my patellar tendon starts to hurt so bad. this video is needed. thanks!

"Load managment."
stop hheavy load and add light load through isometrics: quad extension! 7:20
last step is you add progression from isometric to strength until positive response start
EXAMPLE
1 foot small plyometric landings and jumps than 1 foot 2inches, .....etc....
I’m a 6’5 200lbs and my knee pain is holding me back tremendously 🤦🏾♂️ from improving my dunk and overall skill in basketball , also most of my pain is located at the insertion point .
hell yea that insertion point been killin me lately
How is going, Still with pain?
How long did you rest for?
I want more....😪
How long should you stop jumping and playing for
GOAT
How long did you have to stop jumping for after John told you to?

How long of a break should we take from jumping? And how should we ease back into it
6 weeks
knee pain has been pretty bad for 3 years and watched a lottttt of youtube videos but it’s on the light side because corona cancelled season mid way. it sounds like yours was as bad as mine so i’m hoping this actually works
How long is the recommended time to stop jumping for
3 seconds
Where to subscribe to your programs?
Yo Isaiah, what is John Evans’ CZcams channel?
Could NFL players who have approximately a 45 inch standing vert jump 50+ with a run-up?
If I stop playing can I at least keep up with my calves raises
What about Osgood Schlaters
Any tips or a video on osgood schlatters?
Idk if you still have it cause it’s been a year since you commented but they can be treated in the same way cause you’re stretching and strengthening your patellar tendon
For those who are just to hear the exercises jump to minute 7:00
Thank u 😂😂
For how long should we stop jumping for?? Like 3-4 weeks is that enough?
4-8 weeks to heal it up
This. Video honestly helped so much I personally had knee pain and I’ve been doing these steps and I’ve been dunking without pain at all
is jumping rope okay? what is a good way to keep cardio up?
Treadmill
Can you do a video about shin splints
1milZayh forreal i get those so badd
1milZayh dude shin splints kill me when I jump, I literally have to limp around for the rest of the day
work on your tibialis posterior anda anterior, plantar fascitis and dorsiflexion. That may help
@@ultimatespidernerd9586 I did track and had a weight lifting class and because I ran on my heels for the first psrt of the season I ended up with both jumpers knee and shin splints. Youngboy never walk again
Can i train like do exercises for upper body and arms?
I would assume so, since those don't directly affect the patellar tendon
Bro do you guys heal low back pain? Love the podcast and vids!
i do stretches, sit on your back against a wall for like a min and then roll forward and back on it after and do twists and stretches. helped me when running 3ks.

I have this weird knee pain it came up before sleeping (makes no sense) and when i fully extend my knee, theres a pop feeling and its extremely pain, then when its over i retract my knee fully theres a pop (same pain) then when i try move it again, another pop (same pain) could it be dislocation? I'm just really scared now i just managed to touch the rim im 14 😭 helpppp!!!
I almost didnt train at all due to lockdown in my country, it was just 3 weeks in i occasionally did some squats but focused alot on core and upper body
Go see a doctor
This is gonna suck I just can’t see myself taking off one day let alone six weeks but I gotta get rid of this knee pain
It’s worth it bro chances are you’ll come back jumping higher and pain free
I'm a volleyball player. Can I still get the knee rehab?
The tendon rehab program I mean
🐐🐐🐐
For how long should you not jump play or cut?
Til you can do max effort jumps with no pain
Isaiah Rivera thanks for the reply bro
How long did you stop jumping for?
He stopped for 6 weeks
He is generaly talking about tendinopathy ...knee pain could be from other pathologys and he is right abou load managing. And yes first isometric training load managing and slowly making the tendon to adjust to that load and slowly working on coming to jumping. You cant heal tendon itself its pathology for life but you can make it to adjust to the load and be pain free... good protocol for patella tendon is start half squat of 70 proc of your 100 do 5 times 45 sec and then yoi sould be pain free for your workout strengthening other muscle .
That's not true at all tendons aren't pathology for life.
Anon He’s actually right. You will always have a pathological tendon, that doesn’t mean it’ll be painful though.
@@IsaiahRivera1 the research says that a painful tendon has disorganised collogen and stress shielding. By slow loading a tendon, the shielding slowly reduces and allows the collogen to rearrange.
Anon The collagen won’t be made “healthy”, but new healthy collagen will be formed. That’s why people with tendinopathy often have thicker tendons.
@@IsaiahRivera1 that's also true, but through slow loading(silly putty analogy) poorly arranged collagen can actually be rearranged
How long should the average person with peteller tendinopathy rest for?
Payton Morrow I got Diagnosen with a Chronic Form 7 Months ago. I got the inflammation out of the Knee Last week (officially). I Hope this helps
@@leonsonnleitner3150how did you get it out, physio and rest?
Is it possible to increase my vertical by 15 inches?
I am jumping 34 inches right now and have a aim of getting it up to the 46 in a 4 years. If you are consistent and smart about your training and stay healthy i think its possible

Hi from New Zealand :) 7 Years of Patelar Tendonitis in both knees, started off as a small pinch but turned into a vicious pain/hate cycle which spiraled into Chronic Pain all over the body 24 / 7.
1 / Mindfulness Mediation was able to cure the Chronic Body pain (Mental work is huge, and it is important not to hate the Knee Pain)
2 / CBD oil to relax my knees as I start to strengthen.
3 / Now learning from Isiah dunk videos so I can absolutely slam it over anyone (im 6'4 with long ass shoulders and i cant even dunk leleleleleel)
