Oct. 2020. Just working my through you programs from the beginning but missed a few to this point .I am modeling ConRail in 1978. I believe the open auto rack cars were still running. When were they starting to enclose them. I hope to have a few open rack cars. Fantastic modeling Mike Budde. Thanks Ken for sharing.

The 'pooling'of the boxcars and autoracks, the fact that all of the railways contributed in maintenance and such, is that where the idea of the old Railbox and Railgon came from, the "Nationwide Boxcar Pool"?

This was an interesting What's Neat episode. I just wish you would feature more about N scale trains. N scale remains the 2nd most popular scale among model railroaders, but it didn't even merit a mere mention in this episode. Maybe you should rename these episodes "What's Neat with HO trains" since HO scale always seems to dominate without much attention paid to other scales. -from Tom Pilling

Thanks for your candid response, Ken. I used to work in advertising, so I can empathize with you on dealing without fickle clients. May I ask, is your CZcams content primarily determined by your paying corporate clients, or do you have any editorial freedom and budgetary flexibility to choose your own topics covered? Your model railroading coverage is epic. I just hope you can find ways to showcase more N scale trains and layouts in futures episodes. I don't know if I can do much more from my standpoint than make the suggestion, as I don't have any material of my own to share with you at this time. Thanks for the offer, though. -from Tom Pilling

The show forms its self based on projects going on around here at any given time.. it's a reality show of sorts.. there is no dictation from any out side source as to what is included,, even I do not know what will be in June or July,,, It just happens and I get to enjoy living it!

ATSF Venta Spur Nscaler I just bought a small Bachmann N Scale set over the weekend for $55! I got it at the Fullerton Railroad Days in Southern California.

vidfreak727 Enjoy your trains. N scale model railroading is a great hobby to be in! Many manufacturers make outstanding N scale locomotives and rolling stock.
One of my favorites is Micro-Trains in Talent, OR. Atlas Model Railroad Co in Hillsdale, NJ, also makes some really fine N scale trains. Another great manufacturer is Intermountain Railway Co out of Longmont, CO.
You can usually find trains from these manufacturers in your local hobby shop, at train shows and through online dealers. Their quality craftsmanship is usually better than Bachmann's, but Bachmann trains can be good for beginners in the hobby.

Watching this video I noticed your barge boats, is there any way to make them look more realistic with water depth like for full and empty barges along with the depth of the boat and water level.

I know there's no right or wrong way and that you probably get the same result in the end. Do you find the water makes things easier when shredding the leaves? I have seen Luke Towan blending them dry.

Hi Ken: Do you know when a manufacturer will make N scale wheels (with bearings) that will turn and if you paint the bearing bolts like they do in HO and on the prototype, this would make buyers purchase them like they are going out of style. If you know please contact me at: hsmuck@cogeco.ca, thanks for your co-operation.
