To all NYCT Employees, "Thank you," for your service to NYC.
Awesome Valentine's and subway transit video to the 'S' train from Broad Channel to Rockaway Park, WTAE! Hope we all enjoyed the tracks being covered in snow from Tuesday. : )
Good (S)tuff there! These R179s do really fit on the Rockaway Park Shuttle there.
This is one of only two services on lines with full-length platforms to use half-length trains, the other being the G. Also, the internal designation of this shuttle is H. The reason the Rockaway Park branch is served exclusively by the shuttle outside of rush hours when five A trains run in each direction instead of just splitting the A full-time is because all stations except Beach 90th St are the top 4 least used stations in the system with 90th St being the 8th. Far Rockaway-Mott Ave has significantly higher ridership compared to any other station on either Rockaway Branch.
Again like an OpenBVE Sim, there was no one I saw at all board this train, except the one woman at Beach 90th
The fact you were able to do the (S) with R179 equipment makes this one of your best videos! Keep it up!

Short and sweet, and the snow made a nice touch. I guess that was a 4-car train, but it looked like 2 cars would have been enough! I suppose that would have been much busier on a hot July day.
👍👍👍 great video!!!
Welcome an experience keep it up post more videos 🎉
Thank you Brother 🫡🫡🫡

A bit of a complaint, I really don’t like how you have that app where it visualizes the train moving appear at every station. This is a front window view, not a vacation app. Also, I liked the old style of transfers. I don’t really like how you put an iphone 15 or something as the background. If you could change both of those, that would be great and it would improve the quality of your videos. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your review as it is greatly appreciated. 🫡
Please, show us a route 3 to Harlem.
Could you possibly do G from church layup track to court sq
So was that you at Broad Channel in the mask?

Happy birthday 🏆
Interesting to see no passengers in either direction on the platforms.
Well as I remember it, the ride to Manhattan is crappy. Shuttle to Broad Channel. Then "A" Train through the wilds of Bed-Stuy to downtown Manhattan. While NYC Transit could have made an attempt to keep the LIRR Rockaway Beach Branch operating giving us decent service to Manhattan, they concocted the route using the Fulton Street Line. Also, there are now a multitude of buses from the Rockaways to various points in Manhattan with better, faster service
Next video?
2 questions: Does the bridge you crossed still open for Jamaica Bay water traffic? Is the Rockaway Shuttle a one-man or two-man operation?
Great questions. Yes to the first and as for the second question, it would be the former. 🫡
What was the rail in the middle for ? Is that a rule for elevated structures ? I know that mainline railway bridges require an emergency retainer rail in cases of derailments.
Aarre Peltomaa
"Guard Rails," are said to be used on most elevated structures and other places, as a way to prevent derailments similar to that of the "emergency retainer."
❤️🥰 good Love S 🫡

What happened to the N train video?
It was voted to be removed by the team since it was not the true N train experience.
WTAE 😃
🏆
question E to Jamaica when and N Train vid when??
Both were done
still yet to see the 42nd street shuttle in roundtrip, no Z trains yet, no new N trains, other services in reverse, A train to Far Rockaway, from Ozone Park, etc
🫡
What will be the next recorded route?@@wtaenyc
Why the video would be 2 minutes long
A Roblox game has a longer run than this lol
Is there really enough demand for this shuttle or is it a legacy line that they cant get rid of?
Don't know what the shuttle numbers are. There are a couple of weekday through trips each way during rush hours. From what I remember as a Rockaways youth, the ridership was sparse from day 2. From what I've seen on MTA bus maps, there appears to be substantial overlap of service with this line. I could make a strong case for ending the line, demolishing the elevated structures and related, and closing it down once and for all.
@@cats0182 I wouldn't close/demolish the line cause although the ridership is sparse, Rockaway Park acts as a station & yard storage facility. There are extra tracks present to store train sets that are not in service.
Easiest day… “how many passengers did you pick up?” “0” haha what’s the point of this line?
The A was late as usual
