Neil, I don't mind backstitching. What I dislike about the process is that when I am working on stitches for a prompt, it takes two backstitches to make one stitch (for counting purposes), so I feel it slows me down in meeting my prompts. LOL. Dena
So exciting! In this video on Halloween Quaker you went from “I finished the houses, but had some trouble with them so I’m putting it away for awhile” to “I finished it! But I won’t frame it for awhile” to “I’m taking it to be framed!” It turned out so nice - congrats! 🥳
Sarah, it was funny that after I put it away for a day I needed it for a new prompt. LOL. Then I found a Hobby Lobby gift card in my wallet I had missed when I went to pick up the framing last time, so that allowed me to frame Halloween Quaker sooner rather than later. I forgot to mention that in the video. LOL. Dena

I was blissfully stitching on one of my Wipgo projects, when I heard you say, "...stitch the eyes." My blood pressure hit a new high. Just before Christmas, I took "Summer, Autumn, and Winter" by Blackbird Designs to be framed. Picked out the frame, and was giving it the final glance of admiration, when I realized that I hadn't stitched the birds eyes. Steaming mad! I worked so hard on those three charts and was so proud! Because of three stitches, framing is on hold. I still haven't put in those three, stinkin' stitches. Just not in the mood! 😁
Well, Jan, when you are ready, take a moment and stitch those eyes. At least you saw it before you framed it! It would have really been irritating to have framed those three projects only to discover those missing stitches afterwards!!!! Dena

I am also working on Halloween Quaker. I like the way you decided to de-clutter the bottom. I think I will do something similar. I love the way yours turned out.
Anne, a friend of mine finished hers about a week before I did and when we were showing each other our finishes (on Zoom), she had left out the W and a couple of other motifs on the bottom as well. Must be a common feeling amongst us stitchers that the bottom row is too busy. Dena
Dena....what a wonderful stitching month you had. Halloween Quaker is awesome. I can see you savig your penies already to have it framed. By the bay...just keep sneakingthose extra stitches in and it will be done before you know it. Cindy

Hi! I think the birds look just fine! I am stitching my haed, full coverage Feb and ha no I wasn’t as lost my place in cross country but found it after a hunt! 🤔🤪🤨lol oh everything looks so awesome. And small gist is precious ❤ a finish! A big one too - that’s awesome! See you next time!

Wanted it for hubby’s birthday 29th of May, but then 25th July our 47th anniversary, hmm maybe Christmas?! Lol I posted a picture on IG if i get that square area filled in I will he halfway. Huge snowstorm here, so good day to stitch. 1 pm my work is done rest is my day, hubby even has leftovers for supper lol
Halloween Quaker is beautiful Dena and I love your changes. Sorry you couldn't stitch in the car. That would be difficult on a twisty winding road. I use to stitch when we went on a trip too but haven;t been on a trip since my husband passed in 2019. If i go anyplace I am driving so, cant drive and stitch.LOL Awww poor Cocoa I am sorry she was scared at the vet. My dogs always are also. Take care and Happy stitching
Linda, I am so sorry for the loss of your spouse. I know it has been a few years, but I still know you feel that loss tremendously. If you could figure out how to drive and stitch you would be a rich lady. LOL. Cocoa did well at the vet's office and is completely well from her rash so that is good. @@halfstitchcrossstitch2456 yes it has been 4 years but that huge loss is felt every day. We were married 46 years. I know right it would be awesome to drive and stitch. I don’t feel confident in those self driving cars either. So that’s out. Guess I’ll just stay home and stitch 😆. I am so glad Cocoa is better. Poor baby . Happy stitching Dena
Nice finish on Halloween Quaker! Your alterations look just fine. I am also doing this one and since I don't have an 'H' or 'W' in my name and don't think hearts belong with Halloween, I will change mine too. I have already replaced the W with 2 extra bats. I was thinking about replacing the big heart with a spider or pumpkin. I'll have to see what fits when I get there. Thanks for sharing Dena, always nice to visit with you!

I' m a center starter from my beginning history with kits. On this one I am skipping around a bit to mix the small and colorful with the large solid darks.

I am intrigued by the 13th Colony piece. Is that supposed to be a representation of Georgia, since Georgia is the 13th colony?
Melanie, that is a good question. I will have to see if there is any information in the pattern to indicate what it is representing but it spoke to me and reminded me of Georgia. Dena
