Judy, it was a wonderfully balanced time of new experiences. A new cruise line we hadn't traveled with before, new locations we had never visited before, new stitching friends we hadn't met before and even new table mates that made evening dinner remarkable times. Best trip in a long time. Dena

What a lovely bunch of stitchers you met both on and off the ship and it was so much fun to hear about what they love stitching on and how they got started. Marysa, Margo, Cindy, Ann and Marian, thank you for talking to us about your stitching, I did so enjoy meeting you all. I have been to Canada twice and absolutely adored it there. We were lucky enough to travel on the Rocky Mountaineer and I will never forget the stunning countryside we travelled through. We went to Montreal on one trip and we loved that the French speaking locals made you feel so welcomed. We got some bikes and had an amazing self guided tour. This video has brought back so many happy memories and I hope you enjoy the incredible memories you both made on this trip. Congratulations on both your finishes they were gorgeous. Neil, thanks so much for the kind compliment. Two ladies at our table during dinner each night were talking about their weight loss attempts (both were successful over a long period) and I shared I had also lost weight recently. I wound up showing them a picture of me before I started losing weight and they didn't believe it was me. LOL. All the folks I met on this cruise, especially the stitchers, were delightful! happy stitching. Dena

As the conversation turned to weight loss one night at dinner, I revealed I recently started my weight loss/better health journey and showed my table mates pictures of me before I started and they didn't believe those pictures were even me. Other than the fact that I consider exercise a ‘four letter word’ 🥴, I think if the guy increased the resistance on my bike, I would have been forced to take my ‘church dress’ off and explained my meaning of personal space. 🫣. I've done that route with Holland America, but on a sister ship, although I was on the Volendam many years ago - I've done 30+ cruises with HAL. I'm so glad you got to meet up with friends, that makes travelling even more fun. Your stitching is lovely, as always.
Emjay, wow 30+ cruises is amazing. We have done 9 with Princess, 1 with Celebrity and 2 with Royal Caribbean, but this was our first with Holland America. So we are no were near 30 yet. LOL. We have some catching up to do. Hope you are enjoying your stitching. Dena
Hi, Dena. This episode was a trip down memory lane for me. My husband and I traveled to Montreal several years ago and tour the Norte Dame Basilica many years ago. Truly awesome experience! Our guide in Quebec City gave us so much information and he had a great personality. Our time in PEI was short and would love to go there again some day. We’ve made two trips to Nova Scotia, one driving the Cabot Trail. Beautiful country.

Devra, the calligraphy class was very basic, a brushed alphabet so you could make a calendar. Not a lot of instructions. But there were other things he enjoyed more. Dena
