FX Dreamline: How to Add the Power Plenum

- If you want to get the most out of your Dreamline, then you need to add a Power Plenum! You will have much more regulated air available for those heavy pellets and slugs and you'll also use the air more efficiently. Watch as Travis shows you how easy it is to add the plenum onto both a bottle and a cylinder version of the Dreamline.

He does leave out some key details that could cause some to have trouble afterwards on the air cylinder version. I know from experience. There will be pressure on the regulator side (low pressure side) while you degas by loosening the air cylinder gauge. This could shift/push the regulator up in air cylinder and at very least, misalign the adjustment screw or move it enough where you see the reg body o-ring in the hole which will leak. Just make sure you check it before re-assembly. You can slowly loosen the reg pressure gauge right after the air cylinder begins de-pressurizing to bring them down together slowly so things won’t shift.
Good points. Bleeding the air very slowly helps with that.

there is a hole with a metal pin in it, below the place where the magazine fits in. If you get behind the metal pin and push it towards the direction of the muzzle it would degas the aircylinder. That is the intendet way of degasing the aircylinder, not by losening the nano meter display.
Also a vid of gains in every caliber would be awesome

2022 dreamline rifles all come with power plenum installed, and also the fx factory barrel support band at the breech.

Travis, Thanks for this. As I think about it- it looks like the plenum is before the regulator. That doesn't seem to make sense to me. It should be after the regulator should it not?
No, the regulator in the bottle version is in the adapter itself, and in the cylinder, it is in the base of it.
To Robert: That's not the case in the Dreamline. The plenum is in fact after the regulator. You can check that the regulator adjusting screw that is a part of the regulator assembly body is about 4cm from the reservoir action side. Travis, I assume that it can be used on the old Streamline too. The tube thread is most likely the same as on the Dreamline. Could you please confirm it fits the SL too? Thank you

What are your thoughts on barrel security with two tiny grub screws holding if in place? For absolute rigidity between scope/action/barrel, I'd like to see the barrel actually threaded into the breech block but it's not possible due to the thin walls of both barrel and shroud. I've noticed this poor barrel location on many airguns.
Will this fit onto the dream-tact compact. The fx with the shroud please ?
Is it all dreamline tact. Bottle came with pin valve in the bottle just like impact?

let me clarify; actual footage of the fx dreamline power plenum installed with footage of speeds...i have seen the footage of airgun hunters and with jiles when he had the plenum installed on his fx impact mkii

i've been holding out for these plenums too; have the dreamline now but am debating between impact mkii especially if fx is going with a .357.

Possibly, but it does not lend itself to it. But it is doable.
Just a FYI got my power plenum Sunday! It had the wrong o-ring on it and leaked really bad. So out came the diagram replaced the o-ring with a 23×2.5 NBR 70 and it worked perfectly just a heads up its minor

Depends on the situation, but yes.

Yes. You can increase the plenum volume and thus more efficiency at lower reg pressure. But you will be limited in power gains in .22 and .177 unless you enlarge the transfer port and mod the pellet probe.

Ww have some on their way, but we have a lot of pre-orders also so it's hard to say. I recommend getting a pre-order in so you can get one as soon as possible. You'll need to contact FX USA too see if you'll need another part to make it work on your compact.

The Swarm Maxxim has been more accurate for us than the Magnum. And the repeating mechanism seems to work better in 22 cal.
Does anyone know the reason and how to fix the (whizzeling) noise the power plenum makes when a shot is fired?
The whistling is air filling the plenum, I believe all FX rifles with power plenums do this,the MKII Crown and MKIII Wildcat do this which have larger plenums from previous model.
I think because your so close to the plenum when shooting it sounds louder than it actually is.
Sorry when a degassed a gun and added a plenum i wasnt able to fill it. Valve is on its place and o rings are new. Whats the problem? Air is coming out from barrel.

Make sure your gun on cocking position ..if the valve not leak you can fill the air..it's no problem if still leaking below 500 psi as long as pressure increase ,valve will close completely..
It would be nice if they can do one for the Streamline.
I would bet it's the same for the streamline they are the same parts just different features

What barrel length was that on the bottle dreamline and what length was it on the tube dreamline?

Can you repeatedly dry fire the gun to empty the air tube?
If you do that your gun will break

Unfortunate It doesn't fit the shroud of the compact barrel. But I heard FX is looking a solution now. Maybe soon they will give us the answer. 👍

See the fx manual and also the videos that fx do to show you how to maintain your guns they plainly say do not dry fire to release pressure but hey what do they know they only make the guns!
@@6768lee What they mean is that there is less risk of bending the valve pin if there is pressure behind the valve (pressure in the plenum)

Exactly what does this mode do?
It allows for more air to be present in the regulator chamber allowing for more power output per shot.

Has no one done a before and after with this power penlum? Everyone talks about buying it but not a single person has tested it to see if it actually works. From what I hear it’s a waste of money unless you’re tuned for serious power and usually in the higher calibers.

You dont dry fire that's wrong info you release excess pressure using the regulator screw dry fire can damage o rings and that is info direct from fx
