    How are you getting the pops from your exhaust? Just a catback?

    • @tougeos
      @tougeos  Před rokem +4

      Yes, just a muffler delete. Even the the stock exhaust system you can notice very subtle pops when you rev match sometimes, so adding an exhaust system amplifies that sound.

    just got my 2023 in white any tips on driving this car for my first manual????

    • @tougeos
      @tougeos  Před rokem +5

      - Give yourself some time to learn your car, it’s all about muscle memory and listening to your engine, try to make the ride as smooth as possible. It might not be smooth at first, but try to be in the right RPM range after you shift.
      - I would say my biggest challenge was dropping the revs to the right rpm range, apart from rev matching (not heel toe, just blipping the throttle)
      - Make sure your shifting hand is always pointing to where you wanna go, e.g., you’re in 4th and wanna go 5th, position your hand to the bottom left of the shifter and push up and right.
      Work first on getting your shifts right (not going into wrong gear), then you can slowly incorporate some throttle blipping on downshifts to make your ride smoother.

      @PBrooksSawyer Před rokem

      I have 20k miles on my gr86. As a first time manual driver go easy my man. Take good care of that clutch and transmission. Learn how to heel toe through youtube and just focus on get good, clean, smooth shifts moving up the gears and eventually down the gears through heal toe. Have fun!

    do u just turn the traction control off, the drift mode or do u pull a fuse for the abs

  • @edenli9208
    @edenli9208 Před rokem +1

    Curious at 1:42 if the clutch is needed to start drifting? Great driving and stay safe!

    • @tougeos
      @tougeos  Před rokem +9

      This depends on things like your tires, current gear and rpm.
      I was relatively in a low rpm range which is why I kicked the clutch. Kicking the clutch is usually not recommended especially in the dry and with sticky tires. Needless to say using the clutch is also way less predictable because it immediately unsettles the car. If you’re in an rpm range where your torque is good to get a drift going, then no need for the clutch.

    • @edenli9208
      @edenli9208 Před rokem +2

      @@tougeos Thanks for the explanation, that's what I thought too. My first reaction would be kicking the gas pedal to start a drift in 2nd gear, but you are spot on.

    • @tougeos
      @tougeos  Před rokem +1

      It's normal for the shifter to move around when changing gears or even accelerating. When slipping it's a different story lol it's starts shaking all over the place. But yes it's still normal😅

    What exhaust do you have?

      @@inikkor520 love it so far, it’s been around two months since I got it done.
      Daily driving in the city and highway, very little drone on highway, nothing unbearable. Tbh it doesn’t sound like a muffler delete because it’s not raspy or cheap, best part is the pops on rev match

    • @tougeos
      @tougeos  Před rokem +2

      First time for everything; don't practice this on public busy roads, find a closed empty parking space and practice doing donuts. Donuts are an easy start to see how your vehicle reacts to throttle and steering inputs.
      Even better if it rains in your area so it's easier for the car to slip without burning the tires.
