    wow. great drive. Curious, did you shift directly from 4th to 2nd braking into turn 11? I was wondering if 2nd or 3rd will be a better gear for the GR86 for that turn.

    • @studiousGR86
      @studiousGR86  Před 2 měsíci +4

      Yes I shifted directly from 4 to 2. However, looking at data it doesn't seem 2nd gives meaningful improvement over 3rd gear there

    Is you engine stock? I want to track my brz but still scared about the oil pressure drops in right turns. Yours seems to be ok though.

      Yes the full mod list is in the description. Only oil cooler for the engine, otherwise stock

      You should be fine if you just do a 0.8L overfill and thicker quality oil. (I use 0w-40 300v)... If you don't want to install an cooler. Just make sure you back off/cool down if oil temps get to 260.

      what can you do to prevent that?

    • @Mr_meor
      @Mr_meor Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@soldat996cheapest way is Oil Baffle Pan, not the most effective but it will help the dip in pressure by a lot
      Most expensive way is dry oil sump but that’s really expensive
      On a scale of 0-10 effective, If stock is 0 and dry oil sump is a 10, Oil Baffle Pan would be 4-7 depending on brand
      Different brand have different design to reduce the oil pick up problem
      But better than nothing imo, plus you can redo the oil pan seal to prevent that RTV issue

    • @zacharyparis
      @zacharyparis Před 2 měsíci

      There aren’t really any oil pans right now they have proven to prevent the oil pressure issue. The RTV has not shown to cause any problems.

    I like your driving style. No nonsense jerky moves. Just business. I have the BRZ version with Ohlins RT coilovers, Perrin 22mm front and 19 mm rear SB, Whiteline LCA and Perrin steering lockdown.
    18x8 lightweight Fast wheels and 225 wide indy500 tires.
    -2.5 degrees camber all around.
    The car has pretty non body roll and pulls similar lateral acceleration as yours on skinnier tires.
    I was was wondering why everyone is running 17" tires on the track?

    • @studiousGR86
      @studiousGR86  Před 22 dny

      Thanks! 86 Challenge requires 17" GT Radial SX2 tires, as that is the spec tire. 17" also is cheaper so it works out!
