- On this episode of Extreme UTV tech we give our 6 month recap on our Super ATV Gen 2 portals. You probably saw the episode where we did the install of the Super ATV portal Install on Project Party Wagon which is Carter's Polaris RZR 4 Seater Turbo. During our Super ATV portal lift review we will be showing you everything you need to know about this setup. A Super ATV portal gear lift in our opinion is the best possible way to lift your UTV to make room for larger tires. We are running 34s on this one but we have seen folks on 37s with zero issues. The Gen 2 portals have solved pretty much all of the common super atv portal lift problems. Not only does it lift your vehicle but it give you gear reduction to make it handle like factory even with larger tires. This puts less strain on your stock drivetrain allowing you to run stock axles with big tires. After 6 months of wheeling with these Super ATV GDP Portals and only breaking one axle we give them a big thumbs up. Thanks to the 34s and gear reduction this rig just crawls up obstacles with ease.

It has the lower gear set in the trans which makes a huge difference also, we walked all over everything at Hawk Pride last wknd in it
@@BustedKnuckleVideo Oh okay. I imagine that would help! That's the first rzr I've seen that has 37s and Portals geared towards rock climbing. Prior to that one, I have seen 35s on the ones Slikrok Productions use.
Yeah this is his second one on portals and 37s. The last one was just a 1000. This one is a Turbo.

I’d love to see more utv reviews and tech maybe on clutch upgrades and tuners???? A lot of tech on the rock rods but maybe updated tech on utvs??

If I put 4” portals on my 17 xp1k, mostly trail rig, that I take to the dunes once a year, should I sell my paddle tires and just run 34”-35” m/t’s in the sand?

Did you do anything with your steering? I put these on a 4seat 2017 General and I needed to upgrade my steering. First the electric motor then the rack & pinion. I’m wondering if you did what route you went. It’s a beast in Moab!!
Still stock steering on this one. Upgrading to the Saturn steering would help, you could also upgrade the rack as well. The one on 37s will be getting full hydro steering.

I’ve got the Saturn steering system, my rack is going out. Do you think the heavy duty steering rack is worth the extra money or should is save and go stock?
I would go with a SuperATV HD rack
I don't need extra seats, so I was thinking of getting the two seater with Portals. Did you pick the four seater for the extra seats or another reason?

Ive got gen2 on x3. Bent both front pivots/hub. You know any where who can copy forged pivot block an make stronger. Its a fail point at top a arm.
How did you do that?
BustedKnuckleVideo was on a motocross track. Only small jumps bit rock crawling. I know crazy, got spares already which was supper quick an i live in uk. 3 days shipped. Got video/pics of you want see.
Yeah Carter has been hesitant to do any jumps. so far so good rock crawling though

They make it taller but also wider so it doesn't make it any more top heavy

Do the gen2's leak as bad as the gen1's?
No leaks whatsoever. I think they fixed most if not all issues with the Gen1s
How to recognizes gen 1 and gen 2? Also what wheels you use? I try to find out if i can use car wheels 4-110 with big inset to hide portal inside rim

Ok can you build a RS1 1000 turbo with 8in portals, high clearance A-arms, 37in interforce 2s, full exhaust, snorkels, custom roll cage, costom front and rear brush guards, ARB lockers, upgraded clutches, Front Curved LED light bar on roof, LED spot lights on front, small 12in LED light bar on front and rear brush guard, rear facing LED light bar, x2 LED light bar for left and right, nice modest sound system, a 10in touch screen infotainment for sound system and GPS and phone, a black and orange camo wrap, orange Halo HID head lights, your choice on rims but for color needs to be black with orange accents, all-around orange under glow and wheel well lights, either Warn or super winch 9,500lb winch in front and 4,500lb rear winch, the new tiger tail in the rear (the one with lock on it for different distance pulling), Gorilla axles (or which ever the best is), custom made flat bar doors with removable skin (as in you can run the doors as just bars for better line of sight or attach the skin for those days you don't want alot of mud in cab), single full size spare tire carrier behind driver seat, high lift Jack with mount on the front by windshield, stronger and lower gear ratio transfer case, and finally full underbody skid plates. Last but not least I need you to build a wood crate that it can fit inside of then add my address to the outside and the ship it to me 😁.....thanks a million from Sgt John Martin and I promise to ride and take videos of my life on the trail with it after I leave this hell hole called Afghanistan. AMERICAN BORN,BUT RAISED AND BRED IN THE SOUTH! GA THAT IS.

We it be fine to run 32s on portals or would that be too small?
I run 32s with no issues. Just lower gearing than stock.
I wouldn't run anything less than 34s if it were me. It will work with 32s but kind of pointless

I run 32s on both of my race rigs without portals. I think Portals need 34-35s minimum and some folks run up to 37s with no issues.
BustedKnuckleVideo 35s are equivalent to stock gearing. I’d be running 34s or 35s if I could fit in my garage with the stock cage lol. My 32s do rub on a good flex though, so forward arms are in my future.
They need to cut the price of portals literally in half... too much $$$ for the average white guy.
They are pricey but also turn your machine into a rock crawling beast.

Had a jeep, rzr goes far more places than my jeep did & quicker times on trails
