  • On this episode of Extreme UTV Tech, we install a set of Machete beadlocks from KMC wheels wrapped in 30 x 10 MRT Moto Race tires on the Busted Knuckle production model RZR Turbo. UTV Beadlock wheels are super easy to install, and we'll show you how. This tire/wheel combo weighs in at 56lbs each, making it one of the lightest and most durable rzr setups out there. It should be great for woods and rock racing and we can't wait to test them out this year in the Southern Rock Racing Series SRRS UTV Class! Big thanks to KMC XD wheels and MRT Moto Race Tires for getting us setup!

    Cool to see how bead locks get installed. I figured you had to drill holes in the tire for the bolts to go through. Nice to know that is not the case, as this is way easier :)

    Awesome video!..I'm in the market for wheels and tires and was curious as to what steering issues you had with your previous set up on your old one?

    That 40lbs added and that's for racing? That weight on the wheel spinning will Def. Cause noticeable acceleration drop

    are you able to use stock lug nuts with these rims??

      You can but I would recommend getting some from KMC

    With the larger tires do you need to modify the clutches in any way?

    • @BustedKnuckleVideo
      @BustedKnuckleVideo  Před 7 lety

      A clutch upgrade is always a good idea when going to a heavier setup. We have a clutch kit to match the EVO powersports tune going in it soon.

    I have a Can Am Defender crew, we ride rocks and mud mostly and some road, I am currently looking at the Valor V05 beadlock with a 32" BFG KM3, is that a good selection or do you have suggestions? thanks for any input

    • @BustedKnuckleVideo
      @BustedKnuckleVideo  Před rokem

      BFGs are tough. We like Rockzillas if you want something more agressive or Nittos if you want something in between.

    Hey Matt I bought a set of Pro Armor crawler xg tires for my X3 XRS. They measure in at 28.5 Unmounted. I’m concerned that they are a little small. Should I take them back and go with a 32? What are your thoughts.

    • @BustedKnuckleVideo
      @BustedKnuckleVideo  Před 6 lety

      I like the 32s for sure. Just depends on what you want to do with it.

    • @slammednrowdy6937
      @slammednrowdy6937 Před 6 lety

      BustedKnuckleVideo so I ended up going back to the tire shop and measuring them mounted on rims and they were the closest to stock. I liked the size of the 32’s but I was worried I would see a huge change in the performance of the car. On the cars you see on a daily basis is there a big power loss when it comes to 32 inch tires? I think for what I’m doing the 30’s will do just fine.

    • @BustedKnuckleVideo
      @BustedKnuckleVideo  Před 6 lety

      we make up for the power loss with a tune and clutching

  • @fshfinder02
    @fshfinder02 Před 3 lety

    What stops the bead from coming off on the inside of the tire? Sorry if this a stupid question I just want to learn.

    • @BustedKnuckleVideo
      @BustedKnuckleVideo  Před 3 lety +1

      Nothing, but the outside bead is usually the one that is the problem. You can buy double beadlock wheels but they cost a premium.

  • @tanka5700
    @tanka5700 Před 7 lety

    what tyre pressures would you run with these for trails?

    • @BustedKnuckleVideo
      @BustedKnuckleVideo  Před 7 lety

      8psi is a good all around pressure, we plan on installing tire balls and the pressure will be much lower in the carcass.

    I know this is an older video now, but I wonder why did you have steering issues with the 4+3 offset? Can’t you just do an alignment to fix it?

    • @BustedKnuckleVideo
      @BustedKnuckleVideo  Před 6 lety +1

      it messes up your steering geometry with the tires sticking out more.

    • @cammoore3
      @cammoore3 Před 6 lety

      OP, Check out Shock Therapy’s article on wheel offset and suspension geometry. It’s really easy to follow and lays it out nicely.

    If the bolts are stainless, you should use anti-seize !

  • @Allworldsk1

    Are these really needed for regular rigs though? Just juiced up rigs right 👉? 🤔🤔🤔

    • @BustedKnuckleVideo

      If you drive hard beadlocks are a good idea and allow you to air down more for crawling
