- On this episode of Extreme UTV Tech, we install a set of Machete beadlocks from KMC wheels wrapped in 30 x 10 MRT Moto Race tires on the Busted Knuckle production model RZR Turbo. UTV Beadlock wheels are super easy to install, and we'll show you how. This tire/wheel combo weighs in at 56lbs each, making it one of the lightest and most durable rzr setups out there. It should be great for woods and rock racing and we can't wait to test them out this year in the Southern Rock Racing Series SRRS UTV Class! Big thanks to KMC XD wheels and MRT Moto Race Tires for getting us setup!

Great video great info👍. Seen a lot of your decals at KOH this past week!
Thanks, we actually raced this rig in the UTV race at KOH
Cool to see how bead locks get installed. I figured you had to drill holes in the tire for the bolts to go through. Nice to know that is not the case, as this is way easier :)
there really is nothing to it.
Lol we filmed a video JUST LIKE THIS back in December and haven't had a chance to put it together yet. We even weighed the wheels too!
ha beat ya to it!
Love your side by side stuff. Keep on keepin on!
Thanks we appreciate it. I love this tire and wheel combo. Can't wait to see how it does in our first race this weekend.
It looks great!
Thanks! wait til you see our other project in the works
Awesome video!..I'm in the market for wheels and tires and was curious as to what steering issues you had with your previous set up on your old one?
The steering feel just isn't right when you add width.
Ok thanks!
anytime
That 40lbs added and that's for racing? That weight on the wheel spinning will Def. Cause noticeable acceleration drop
are you able to use stock lug nuts with these rims??
You can but I would recommend getting some from KMC
gotcha...thanks. I just ordered these rims but I didn't order lug nuts. I'll go to kmc website and see about ordering some.
Luvv ur videos!!!!
thanks for watching!
With the larger tires do you need to modify the clutches in any way?
A clutch upgrade is always a good idea when going to a heavier setup. We have a clutch kit to match the EVO powersports tune going in it soon.
I have a Can Am Defender crew, we ride rocks and mud mostly and some road, I am currently looking at the Valor V05 beadlock with a 32" BFG KM3, is that a good selection or do you have suggestions? thanks for any input
BFGs are tough. We like Rockzillas if you want something more agressive or Nittos if you want something in between.
Hey Matt I bought a set of Pro Armor crawler xg tires for my X3 XRS. They measure in at 28.5 Unmounted. I’m concerned that they are a little small. Should I take them back and go with a 32? What are your thoughts.
I like the 32s for sure. Just depends on what you want to do with it.
BustedKnuckleVideo so I ended up going back to the tire shop and measuring them mounted on rims and they were the closest to stock. I liked the size of the 32’s but I was worried I would see a huge change in the performance of the car. On the cars you see on a daily basis is there a big power loss when it comes to 32 inch tires? I think for what I’m doing the 30’s will do just fine.
we make up for the power loss with a tune and clutching
What stops the bead from coming off on the inside of the tire? Sorry if this a stupid question I just want to learn.
Nothing, but the outside bead is usually the one that is the problem. You can buy double beadlock wheels but they cost a premium.
what tyre pressures would you run with these for trails?
8psi is a good all around pressure, we plan on installing tire balls and the pressure will be much lower in the carcass.
Where were did you get those manta colored bead lock rings?
I had the custom powder coated by Rick's Powder Coating in Memphis
I know this is an older video now, but I wonder why did you have steering issues with the 4+3 offset? Can’t you just do an alignment to fix it?
it messes up your steering geometry with the tires sticking out more.
OP, Check out Shock Therapy’s article on wheel offset and suspension geometry. It’s really easy to follow and lays it out nicely.
closer to stock makes it drive better
If the bolts are stainless, you should use anti-seize !
why for stainless?
dissimilar metal corrosion, stainless and aluminum. Can be very hard to take apart.
interesting
Go ahead and put anti seize on aluminum let me know how that works out for ya!
Are these really needed for regular rigs though? Just juiced up rigs right 👉? 🤔🤔🤔
If you drive hard beadlocks are a good idea and allow you to air down more for crawling
@@BustedKnuckleVideo thank you very much for the reply. That makes a lot of sense. Definitely something I'm interested in. Great information
glad it helped
Was the offset +35mm or +10mm on these wheels?
They are 5-2 offset, stock is 6-1
That is the thing when i search those wheels on amazon it says +0, +10, or +35mm offset for the 4x156 bolt pattern
What doors are those?
CSC Fab and they are awesome
What spray lube is that?
WD!
Will you be installing a Gibson exhaust on the turbo also?
We sure will and we will also be giving away an exhaust to one of our viewers
BustedKnuckleVideo After hearing it on your 1000 I think thats the exhaust Im goin to go with as well 👌🏻
I dig the sound! They sent us a single and a dual and we are going to do a comparison sound video
Are those mrt tires?
They are
Those are extremely nice tires! I think I am going to put those on my X3 XRS
They are awesome. I have a set of 30s and 32s
Give us a shout and we can get you set up with some Moto Race Tires and KMC Beadlocks through www.bustedknuckleoffroad.com
BustedKnuckleVideo thinking about taking off my 29 big horns an putting a new set of tires an rims I want to go to 30 in. Just got my shocks back from shock therapy an what a difference!! I have 16 in ground clearance in the front now. I want a tire for all the around type also not sure what offset to go to... can u help thank you.
I don"t know much about UTV racing but 40lbs of extra weight seems a bit much doesn't it?
lighter than most setups. Good thing we can add more power to make up for it
A 5 gallon bucket.....wonder where that came from.....🤔
GENIUS!
