I have been looking at these myself to replace the stock Firestones on my Ram 2500. I buy all of my tires at Discount Tire as I travel the country during the year and there is usually a Discount Tire nearby. One thing about Discount is they stand behind the tires they sell.
I have these on my Nissan frontier pro4x. Absolutely love them!! They are a little loud. Good on the trail. Haven’t had them in the snow yet…
Awesome keep me posted, I got a quote this morning on them from Discount Tire.
Years ago when I worked for Discount Tire Co. the Rocky Mtn was actually made by Falken. At the time it was a terrible tire. Things may have changed and I’m not sure if this built by Falken anymore. Now currently I run the the Falken wild peaks in a 295/70R18 and have put almost 60k on them. They have been a fantastic tire for Colorado. My first set of tires were the Nitto Ridge Grapplers and they were awesome as well but I will probably try the new Mickey Thompson AT as it now comes with a 55k warranty also. I think if these are built by Falken they will most likely be a good tire but I wouldn’t expect a premium tire like what you’re used to. Great video again!
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching.
I’m from the 828 as well. Remember when we actually got snow here and needed 3 peak AT tires? I recognize that Long Shoals Road Ingles anywhere lol.
Yep, doesn’t snow much any more.
Just got a set for my 2017 pro 4x. 136 each at discount tire. Was comparing them to the toyo at3 side by side and the Rocky Mountains look like they run a bit thinner by a few centimeters. There is only a slight bit of road noise but can’t really tell unless you are really paying attention. Coming from the stock Hankook tires, you can feel the road just a tad more but has that rugged feel to it. I have also had the pathfinders on my previous 2016 pro4x sold at discount tire and those tires are smoooooth and quiet. I did compare the pathfinders to the Rocky Mountains side by side as well and the Rocky’s look so much more aggressive and I wanted to try something different. Happy with the purchase and would buy again.
Thanks for the review really appreciate it. I'm still a few months out from deciding. I did notice the thinner footprint. Thanks for watching.
Just bought 4 with mount balance and warranty for my 02 Toyota tundra sr5 682 out the door ,I love discount tire , 3 months ago same tire for 4 was 840 he said they dropped in price great review tha KS for sharing
Thanks for the info, and thanks for watching.
My phone auto correct thanks to "tha KS" also
@@ridgevincent9434 no worries
just got a set 265 75 r16 nissan frontier went to the mountains 14 inches of snow rode all day performed great
That's great to hear, do they seem noisy at all?
I bought these tires and have been really impressed! I am usually a BFG K02 guy but man those tires are pricey. I sized up to a 33in on my F150 and I would say they are about $1,000 less expensive. I have ran them in some icy, deep snow conditions and would say they are damn near hard to tell a difference in performance between these and a K02. For the money I am thrilled. After I get some more miles on them (have about 1,000 miles so far), I will have to see what I think and post an update. Video on my channel after about 1,000 miles. I would say go for it and save the money like I did!
I’ll look out for your video and an update. Thanks for commenting.
I just purchased these tires today from America's Tire they also sell them they're a little louder than what I wanted but the price was good 550 out the door and they gave me 30 days to try them out if I don't like them I can take him back I purchased them for my 05 Nissan Frontier there are 265-70-16 I thought the price was really good I guess I'll try him out
Keep me updated in the comments. Thanks for watching.
I was also considering these tires but was told today that the sipes are cut 1/2 way down so longevity on snow may be less than other slightly higher priced tires. i went with Hankook dyna xt extremes. Time will tell how they work out!
They the lowest priced in my area, so I’m torn.
On these only the center tread has the sipes at Full depth
According to Discount Tire, the Yokohama Geolander G015 is discontinued. I tried 4 months ago and was told they can’t get them anymore. Too bad…I really liked them.
I drive an old truck 2000 Silverado Z71 and I drive a lot of miles cross country to visit my son. I probably should go with an HT tire but on a truck like this they just look silly. I also live in Utah in the mountains and we get snow and I like to go explore in Moab so I need an AT or MT tire. I'm looking at trying these Rocky Mountain All Terrains or some Summit Trail Climber AT's since I am not gonna spend 50% of the trucks value on a set of tires for it. I have 7 vehicles so like you, I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on tires. I saw before that Discount had a set of Trailfinder All Terrains that looked identical to Kumho Road Venture All Terrains and then found out Kumho made them for Discount Tire. I'm not sure who makes Rocky Mountain tires for Discount but I just read on a Tacoma forum they are made by GITI (posted by Discount Tire) never heard of that company. I have a set of Hankook DynaPro AT-M's on my truck now and they've lasted almost 4 years and I'm down to about 4/32". I could run them a bit longer but I don't want to take my chances. Before that I had Cooper Discoverer AT's that were on it when I got it and were near end of life.
Thanks for commenting. I'm still up in the air about tires, but at $221 a tire for an E-Class rated and All Terrain I'm really itching to try them out.
I believe the Rocky Mountain tires from discount tire are made by Kelly tires which are are actually good tires
@@828findadventure I bought them and had them put on Tuesday morning. We got a lot of snow Tuesday night, and I was out driving around in 2WD just fine. I was able to safely get around slow moving cars who were scared to go over 20 MPH (on a 4 lane 55 mph road). So far, my first impressions are great. I didn't get the Load Range E tires, just the standard rated ones in 265/75R16 since they can hold 2756 lbs each and that adds up to more than my GVWR. They are also made in the USA. It says on the side of the tire.
I bought them online and got a 5% military discount which I don't think they would apply if I purchased in the store. Total price out the door with mounting and balancing, old tire disposal, and all taxes and fees was $591.90
@@Long-nd8bq I'm looking at the Rocky Mountain Ht & LT225 for my 2007 Highlander. Thanks for your input
All these people saying to buy name brand are sheeple. My garage is filled with harbor freight and duralast tools, as well as a few Amazon finds. The ones that let me down were ones that I already knew were made cheap, and bought them because I was going to abuse the crap out of them anyway. Tires are no different, do the research and take a chance after reviewing the info. Since some of these cheap tires are 1/2 to a 1/3 the price of a ”name brand” tire, you can afford to buy one or two extra on spare rims. I've spent the big bucks on michelins, and went cheap with with Pathfinders. I'm running sumitomos now, and they've done well but can't climb steep hills like the bfgoodriches I had before. I've taken an 05 Kia Sedona camping on deep sand with Kumhos. Made me see Kia and minivans in a whole new light.
I've had Kumho, dunlops, shinko, Pirelli, and Bridgestone on my bike. They all performed the same, with the cheap tires wearing faster being the only complaint. The pirellis we're awesome fun when tipping it over with their peaked center but they also wore faster. Yes I was a daily rider, pouring rain, below freezing (big bear and Flagstaff), 120 f temps, on city highways and mountain switchback, dragging pegs at tortilla flats (on a gsxr)(yes, that puckered my *hole).
If you're buying an AT or mud tire, but are concerned about road noise, do us all a favor and buy some highway tires for your pavement princess truck. You're ruining the tread pattern options for the rest of us. So many potentially good patterns ruined because they're too close together because people gripe about noise. There's a lot you can do with highway tires if you put a little forethought into your excursions.
That’s awesome, thanks for commenting.
I dunno Bro... I agree, you get what you pay for.. don't go chasing waterfalls.. as the song goes.. stick to what works.
Bought. a set at America's tire in Ca same co just different name 265/75/16 for a nissan xtterra $125 a tire like $720 for set with all the certs for free replacement if tire can't be fixed bf gooderench was $350 a tire over $1500 for the set with the certs
They seem to be the best deal out there and they should be advertised more.
I got a set recently it has a 50k male warranty and they are made in USA
They seem like a decent tire with a large dealer network,
@@828findadventure yeah I just got them today on my 2006 sequoia
How many miles do you have on your current tires on the tundra and have they worn well?
30k right now and the have worn well except an alignment issue made the front right tire wear on the outside a little more. Remember to cross cross rotate and they will last at least 40k.
Someone probably posted this already, I was told by an employee at Discount tire that they were made by Kuhmo
I still haven't gotten an answer from my Discount Tire but you may be right. Still, a large company that makes quality tires. Thanks for watching.
Is that good or bad?
Do you know if these tires are 2 or 3 ply?
I don’t have the specs in front of me but the ones in my size are E load range which usually equates to a thicker sidewall capable of very high PSI for towing.
St's are 4 ply, and E's I believe, are 10 ply.
I bought these tires a week ago at Discount tire for my Tacoma. At the time, they said that this tire was their "house brand" tire and that it's a quality tire but you aren't paying for the brand name.
A good analogy would be buying a Kirkland product from Costco. A lot of it is good quality items but at a discount price because you aren't paying for a name brand.
Several years ago I purchased Discount Tire's house brand tire for my SUV. They were called the Pathfinder Sport tire, but they were discontinued. I had good luck with those tires.
So far, so good but I've only had these tires a week. Too early to tell if they are good or bad tires.
Keep me posted if you remember. Thanks
Any update now that you have had them a while
AS LONG ITS MADE IN USA 🇺🇸
I JUST SWITCHED TO
YOKOHAMA GO15 SL RATED from NITTO RIDGE GRAPPLER E RATED. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!
very similar to hankook at2's, very likely made by hankook.
I have heard that asking around. For the price they can’t be beat.
I am getting the good year wrangler authority 197 per tire i own an 89 GMC 3/4 ton k2500 mt tire size 265/75/ R16
In my experience u pay for what u get
I believe that as well, but we will see what I do later this year. Thanks for watching.
Hi! R u being paid by the co? Thank u for answering my ?
