Set the speed to 1.25 :D
Robert Snow yup now it sounds good!
That's more around the speed my band played it at.
This is the speed we played at in our class
@@nicholascordial464 Same
I think a lot of victor arrangements sound good at 1.25x
The trombones sound awesome in this.I'm a trombone player
Even though I'm an alto, I completely agree
I also play trombone
same bro
Yes

We played it closer to 1.5x playback speed, I was on alto with a big ole solo such a blast to play, our drummer was an absolute machine.
Absolutely shredded this man. I had been playing bass for two months and only correctly for about a week when I was asked to join my high school jazz band as the bassist because they really needed a bassist! One of the first songs they gave me was this! I couldn’t even read bass clef I was a tenor saxophone player! This song truly taught me how to play bass and I still struggle with it but man this song holds a lot of memories!
I’m a trombonist in my middle school jazz band and I’m learning bass for a song similar to this
I love playing this song it’s so fun
in 30 minutes were leaving for a competition with this arrangement, wish us luck XD
Nogeguy how was it?
you're playing grade 3 music yet your ego is through the roof, pipe down and support your fellow musicians. (:
Arik Jeppsen thank you!
you've probably never played grade 6 then
Brandon Hein m8 I’m 12 and I’m playing grade 5.
Ha
Lol
Love this jazz piece, I'm playing it this year for jazz and loving it.
Will send a video of the band when I get the shredding down on guitar
P.S
Somebody please like this comment so I can come back to it
I love this song, I get to play this song on piano with friends for our concert
Thank you very much for sharing this video. I've been in a band again for a long time and I'm really happy to be able to understand the voice so well here. Since I like to get stuck on the intonation in the rhythm, this video helps me a lot. Thanks.
I love this song, and the tbone part is so cool for once out of the few times we get a cool part
This song is so cool.
Is it weird that I did this in seventh grade this year? (My jazz band😊)
The bari sax part is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever heard. Tenor sax part is awesome too but I’m a little jelly.
DAS GROOVY DUDE
very first jazz song i played
2:05 is the best!!!
No more like 4:40

Can you add Drama for your Mama by Victor Lopez??
cet arrangement me permet de pouvoir espérer le jouer au saxo étant donne la vitesse très ralentie par rapport à l original qui est en 150 et que je préfére justement pour la dynamique. J espère pouvoir trouver le BT de cet arrangement ;....

This song makes me want to learn how to play bass
Yeah, this is not how the song is supposed to be played. It's a much faster tempo and probably isn't intended for a younger level band.
Jack M I’m playing this is HS jazz
Half of the music written isn’t for a bunch of 12 year olds but they have to be able to play something. That’s how this entire thing works.
Hi there new friend here see u around
Noice
Where's the guitar?! You can't play this song without guitar!!
There’s a bass tho
but there is a guitar...
You can clearly hear the guitar at 0:28
I’m pretty sure he’s talking about the iconic guitar that was featured in the original arrangement of The Jazz Police by: Gordon Goodwin
Agreed.. I’m trying to play the guitar part with it. It’s kinda challenging but I have to do it because the other guitarist doesn’t know what he’s doing at all 🤷♂️
If you play it twice so fast, it's original tempo. Try it!
Sammys Drumming Channel Try 1.25 times as fast. It sounds a lot better and closer to the original tempo of the song
Je reviens sur ce que j ai écrit plus bas; c est impossible de travailler ça en saxo alto avec la partition originale qui est en gamme de sol et commence par un si aigu alors que là on est sur un fa dièse...
This is way slower than the original and the wind instruments are way quieter in this.
2:05 saxophone solo
1:51
The bari part is absolutely crispy (if you play low B) 😋
Exactly what I’m doing, I’m also taking a solo in the solo section
@@FNBRVolts hell yeah
gee wizzy jizzy!! good golly man i havent herd this song since i was in the womb! my late mother gave birth to me while singing and listeing to this wonderful cumbursome masterpiece!!! My jazz band played this last year at a faster tempo 😭 if you put it at 1.25 is about the tempo we did
Set the speed to 1.5x :P
Ik this arrangement of the song is getting a lot of hate because it's not intended for younger players but that tenor solo tho!
@ExoticGamer It's catchy
THIS ONE GOES OUT TO MR STITES IF YOU SEE THIS MESSAGE
this song was so hard tbh.. :/
You ever heard/played the original one?
if you think *this* is hard you need to practice way more
@@user-qz2fp4fz9x 6 years later 😂
terrible writing for bari sax - completely avoided the lower register. I understand they try to avoid that sometimes with younger band writing, but the they use it in other instruments. Measure 106 has those notes up an octave, but has the 4th trombone is down below the staff. I doubt that is easy for a beginning trombonist to play....much easier for the bari.
BariSaxGuy ok boomer
I got disappointed when I saw that I didn’t have the bass part as a bari
Then play lower. That's what I do in this one. Jazz is about improvising and adding your own personal touch to your piece, not complaining about writing.
Wow Alfred Music must really hate the guitsr
It’s so bad slow
Niall WArden it's your opinion it's not true to other people
@@Tearsforfears56 not really because it's not the origanl tempo
Feed so who cares
@@Tearsforfears56 i do naiall does
Feed so doesn't mean every body else hates it
This is probably the worst arrangement of any piece I’ve ever heard. The tempo couldn’t even be put close to actual tempo, the key signature is way off, the drums at 1:42 is incredibly anticlimactic, and the guitar isn’t the main feature, which is what gives the piece life in Gordon’s composition in the first place. At least put it to tempo or don’t arrange it at all.
CrokedBlueCreeper101 thats your opinion it's not true to other people
BrandoDoesStuff put it on 1.25 speed:D
i agree withbrandodoesstuff put it on 1:25 speed - if you have nothing nice to say - dont say anything at all
