I still have my 1957 Fender Musicmaster that I bought new with my paper route money when I was 12 years old. I almost sold it one time when times were tough, but I just couldn’t part with it. It brings back so many great memories of growing up.
Vince Gill is so modest and humble, you could live next door to him for 20 years, and if you weren’t into County music you’d never know he was either. He’d be the first to help you if you needed any. My neighbour Tony had stage 4 brain cancer and he was always the first and only to help me. Play it forward. Only love can save us all. ❤️
Dr.Bill I Have Been A Fan of Vince Gill For Many years I Play Vince Gill Days And Nights And Wake up And Play Nothing But Vince Gill And He Has A Voice That Sent To Him From Heaven His Voice Is the Sweetest I have ever heard Ever.Take Care and Be safe Always 😷 💗 ❤ God Bless You Always And Forever 🙏🙏😇😷
Vince. . You were given to this, world to touch so many hearts .. to touch our souls with your beautiful talents. It's so nice to see how much a box of wood and strings touches YOUR soul talking about YOUR guitars. ..
I have bought and sol dozens of guitars and brass instruments .. The brass came to me from my business including a 1926 Conn Alto Sax and everything from a flutes to tubas. The guitars were for me because I try to play from time to time and I understand letting go of a guitar that you love is indeed painful . They hold music and memories ...I sure love Vince , fellow Okie .
Don’t get rid of any of your guitars Vince,I don’t want you to be sad< not ever. Your a great one those guitars are a. Part of you, Amy said a comforting message for you and you tested up. Love and Adore you Vince and your Amy.
Vince, you are one of the finest and most decent men I have had the pleasure of watching and listening to. Amy is a blessing to you as well. Thank you for your music and your heart for God. I am always inspired by your songs.
He has a beautiful family his mum dad were very supportive and encouraging in early childhood we should all try to take a leaf out vinces book thank you
Vince Gill is a true man who seems very sincere in his singing and very honest in the songs that he has written. He gives me the impression that he would be an easy person to talk with. I would love to see Vince,Ricky Skaggs and Patty Lovelace all together in one concert. Then be able to talk with all three together one day.
Never thought about guitars this way, but it’s true they are like “photo books”. I bought a Gibson acoustic my first semester of college with some money I had saved up, and I played every little bar in 3 states surrounding mine with a band. I made so many memories doing what I loved and keeping the lights on doing it. That guitar is like a piece of me now and I’m going to pass it down to my kids one day to have something to remember me by.
Have a Rickenbacker 4001 that I bought in 1980 with a Peavy TNT 100 for $500. Played in a house band for 3 years in early 2000's. The other guys would leave theirs but I never risked it and took it home every night. In '81 I picked up a newer Telecaster for $400 that I later traded for a VCR after I got married....yeah, I was an idiot.
It must be a great dealing to own any amount of works of art ( guitars ) but as Amy plainly put it, you can only play one at a time. That has been my Motto from the start. To those who are blessed to own many guitars in any collection, you are blessed beyond measure. I own a Hohner , Strat shaped, has a better neck than any Strat I have had the opportunity to hold, and I doubt if I ever will own a Strat, or a Telecaster, which would be my option if afforded the opportunity to acquire. So yes, only one played at any given time is what it is. Vince is my all-time Guitar, singer ,song writer muso. !!! I can tell he is a humble man . !!!!
I remember when Dan Fogelberg's cancer came back, Gruhn Guitars in Nashville was selling off all his life long road gear to pay for his treatment. That was sad.
I've pawned a few very nice guitars. And one in particular i lost. Will haunt me everyday for the rest of my life. But i was desperate and had no options. Damn me for putting myself in those positions. However. I do take some measure of solace knowing that everything is fleeting and impermanent. Cant take it with you when you go. it is a great practice in the art of "letting go"
I love his warm, mellow voice but I know he thinks of himself as a musician first. And when he talks about his guitars, he's not talking about them as just music instruments. When he holds a guitar, he's looking at the music in the hollow and in the wood and every part that it takes to build those special Martin guitars. We see a guitar. He sees the music and grieves over the lost music in those damaged guitars.
Look closely and you will see his t shirt, it says, “Love one woman, many vintage guitars.” I have the same t shirt, never have seen anybody else wear one. And I love this man, his temperament, his talent, his vocal ablilty, and his taste in women . . .er, I mean woman 😀
So why is his first wife still so pissed off at him? She raised their two daughters while he hooked up with the righteous Amy Grant. I believe she has a first husband who got dumped after she got famous. Hipocracy.
@@garypaquin9571 Don't even go there. Unless you know all the facts, you only know what the tabloids printed and they were wrong. And Vince and Janis Oliver had only one daughter that he definitely helped raise. He didn't "hook up" with Amy until he had been divorced for 2 or 3 years. And Amy didn't "dump" Gary Chapman after she got famous, she already had platinum albums and a Grammy or two (as well as multiple Dove Awards) 10 years before they split. They had a 17 year marriage that had its ups and downs. They divorced over irreconcilable differences.
Vince Gill is a great person . Totally understand how he feels regarding his guitars. Even if you only have two guitars that mean so much to you .....which one do you save in an emergency situation if you can only save one ??.......... :-( May only be able to save you , family, pets and have to leave everything else behind. :-(
If you've ever owned and played a guitar you'll understand what he's talking about. I've got 11 of them that I play, and I'm not even very good. But each one is a work of art that sounds and feels just a little different from the others. My wife calls me a guitar foster parent. I buy broken ones, fix them up, give them some love, then keep some of them, and send others to new homes for "parents" to enjoy them.
Doug Barber::: :Build one from scratch for yourself, like having a piece of your self. They just play the way you want them to. All that sanding and shaping the neck to your custom liking no one can do it better than you. I'm a lefty and couldn't find a Custom shop swamp ash blond Black Guard Tele or justify paying ridicules amount of money. Mine came from all thing a 12 foot scaffolding plank covered in cement left in my friends yard, one piece solid light swamp ash. We got like seven guitars out of it and one J-Bass from the scrap.
He didn't have to tell the story of only needing one guitar hahaha my girl friend just watched the video... how can I ever convince her to love yet another guitar in our house... 10 guitars would be a magic number lol almost there now, but Vince had to go say that lol
haha... trust me she knows... Ive gone through many trades and purchases with her... I've got my gigging guitars but always have room for more!! She cringes when I say Im going to the store to buy strings.. cause sometimes they come attached to a guitar.
Same. I was going to show my wife this vidio ...not now😁 I'm at about 10 guitars myself and still always looking for the next better one. Each guitar has there own songs in them
It would be truly amazing to see those instruments in the hands of young musicians instead of sitting in a collection. I always play the same two guitars.
Kevin ODonnell Do you actually think before you post anything? Why do you think Vince was worried about "George's place" (realize and note the first name basis)? Surly your can't believe the things you are saying either that or you are a troll.
I guess if your a big star like vince gill he kisses their ass. If your a working musician he could care less. That's why he's out of business. I never knew any musician that worked on Lower broad would even step foot in that place for a pack of strings. Take a small trip down to Corner music and avoid all the bloated high cost guitars and jerk attitude.

These spoiled rockstar crybabies should take a lesson from Doug Sahm, the leader of the Sir Douglas Quintet, Texas Tornados, The Texas Mavericks and The Formerly Brothers. When Doug's tour bus crashed into a lake, he retreived his vintage 1960s double bound Fender Telecaster and had it repaired and refinished. Doug continued to play it and use it on tours for years, before giving it to his son Shawn, who currently leads the new version of the Texas Tornados with Augie Meyers and Flaco Jimenez.
Dog Wood I saw a thing the other day he was talking to I think primer guitar and he had an old thin line telecaster that was saved from the flood. After he got it back from joe glasser after repairs he used it on the Bakersfield album to record The Fighting Side Of Me
It wasn't just storage, it was a rehearsal studio where all the pros would practice and rehearse. A lot of big names lost their stuff. But Yeah I would keep most of my stuff at home to.

Love love love Vince Gill. I listen to his stories about his old man over and over. 😂
Vince Gill is a true man who seems very sincere in his singing and very honest in the songs that he has written. He gives me the impression that he would be an easy person to talk with. vince is an awesome player . he;ll never be short of a guitar to play
What a great guy. What an amazing player.
Great storyteller
How I love Vince Gill!
I sold my 1964 Gibson es-330TDC to pay for school. I am still upset 8 years later... 1957 p90's loaded in it... road worn and sounded fantastic...
Sorry u had 2 do that..

What a talent. What a guy.
voice of an angel
What a nice guy. Not too shabby with a guitar too.
Man, I know that feeling of how attached to our instruments we musicians can be.
If every one did have the heart mind and love and consider others like vince this world would be a better place

I would never worry about gruhn guitars personally. We should support local music shops that cater towards the working musician.
Kevin ODonnell Yeah you're right, no working musician's shop at Gruhn's. Think about your foolish statement.
It was a good place for Japanese guitar investors. He wouldn't even take a guitar off the wall to look at it.

Bueno
Vince sought the help of Jeff Newman as i did like vince the steel defeated me as well

not sure. i saw him at a pancake house in nashville but i didn't talk to him
dead ass broke..DEAD ASS BROKE..man that describes me today...I'm not hanging here no more...screw this...
Does anybody know if Vince kept any of the guitars in the flood? If any, which ones?

you don't like it don't listen to it. you got nothing good to say, say nothing. that is my right to freedom and expression.
I have the same problem
Not dumb at all them there 🎸are your bread and butter your lively good, but Amy is so right ya just need one to make sad loving songs ✌️❤️ to y'all
Aww poor guy,,only a 150 guitars ,all worth big cash
No finer man , musician and just regular guy. I will ALWAYS hold him as a standard.
Amy Grant...she was right..you just need one guitar..I wished I had a woman who believed in me as much..i would move mountians...
Wow, Very sorry but some wacko was using my computer; must have been someone at work. Please disregard those horrid emails. Peace and love to all...
As a guitarist, I've given away my guitars to people who needed them. I learned long ago that I could be a third or fourth owner of that guitar. And unless it is destroyed, it may have 15 to 20 more owners after I'm gone, so why worry about a material thing so much that it makes me selfish??
I wish I could have a newer Martin that's not very good. :)
DONT SELL YOUR GUITARS
Did Vince donate this guitar to a charity or a museum?
He had no problem getting rid of his other wife
To me ...... and trust.... I could go on about Vince till you stopped me ...... but. Amy ....... she’s got to be God’s gift to many .... but to Vince ..... here take all my guitars but not Amy please lord NO
Don't know the details around this event but why would you store so many rare guitars on a flood plane without having any flood protection? Is that a thing?
You might want to read up on the detalls. That Nashville flood was a record setter-much of the area including a chunk of downtown Nashville-they had to move the Grand Ol Opry back to Ryman because the present home was flooded.
A materialism world
Auction Launch Party or funeral memorial service for the guitars? You decide.
It's sad but building anything in a floodplain is not very wise.
I sent you an youtube email, check your inbox (CZcams) It gives info or where to learn more about Vince.
That’s cool to help out but the only reason is they are all damaged from the flood.😩
Did he ever, donate money to the Waverly High School Band?
Vince is all.broke up I'm sure hes struggling here
If Eric Clapton was God then Vince Gill has got to be Jesus!
I'm honored to have you as a fan Robert thank you so much , have you been to any of my concert ?
