Saw Vince Gill at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville 2 years ago. It was his 25th anniversary show at the historic theater. A night I'll never forget. He told the story of the time early in his career when the Grand Ole Opry called him to play for the first time there. He turned them down because he'd already told his daughter he'd play at her elementary school talent show. Tells you all you really need to know about the man.
Now that’s a great dad ❤️👍🙏
Wouldn't have expected anything else from Vince always comes across as a real down to earth great guy.
Vince is one of the greater guitarists on the planet. He undersells himself like crazy. And he has the voice of an angel.
Vince Gill, a true gentleman and a super fantastic musician.
TRUE IT WOULD BE GREAT IF HE LOST WEIGHT AND RESTORED HIMSELF TO THE GOOD LOOKING GUY HE COULD BE. CHEERS
YES I DO WEIGH THE SAME... I WORKOUT EVERYDAY I'M THE SAME WEIGHT BECAUSE I EAT HEALTHY AND I RESPECT MY BODY.LOOK AT ALL THE PEOPLE DYING FROM DRUGS BOOZE JUNK FOOD OBESITY COME ON GET WITH THE PROGRAM CHEERS.
ERIC EDMUND I think that weight thing happened to everyone born in April and May 1957, then it went away... lol (eg., I could lose a few myself...)
@@DENIEL381 Eric, you know nothing of his life or lifestyle so shut down the shaming. You're better than that!
YES I DO KNOW ABOUT HIS LIFE STYLE , AND NOT SHAMING, JUST DEALING WITH REALITY, BEING OVERWEIGHT IS NEVER A OPTION FOR YOU ME OR VINCE, HEALTH AND FITNESS IS SUPREME.
Dude is for real. When he is with Alison Kraus it sounds like angels just came down from Heaven.
You're ABSOLUTELY right about THAT!!!
Check out Emmy Lou Harris's album Angel Band. Vince steals the album and that's not easy to do with Emmy.
Man, so great to see Vince, being born and raised in Nashville through the entirety of the 80s and 90s, his music and voice have been a mainstay of my life and no matter where I am, they always remind me of home. Thanks for getting Vince on the couch guys, this was a great start to my weekend 👍🏻
Vince Gill is a MONSTER talent.. becoming iconic in the business.. hey young guys out there, heads up and eyes forward on Vince. He's a great player and his tone and phrasing are second to none.. soak it up while you can
If this Vince Gill guy keeps it up, he might go somewhere someday!
Brian W 😂
Great video! Vince is amazing! And yes, if you haven't seen him with the Eagles, definitely go to a show! It's totally worth it.
Every now and then these interviews just give me hope for the future of the world.
Vince Gill is music's true gentleman. His talent is infinite. He keeps getting better with age.
Vince is the real deal. A fantastic guitarist who has mastered his instrument. Great songwriter, terrific vocalist. On top of everything else, he's as humble as the day is long. I have seen him with teh Eagles twice, once in Atlanta and once in Columbia SC. At this point he IS an Eagle.
Vince is a treasure. Awesome entertainer n seems like a good man too👍👍
4 super great people . Enjoyed very much . Thanks Guys
One of the BEST fiddle players of our time. I love me some Vince Gill !!!
I've always been a Martin guy but that Gibson...are you kidding me.... amazing tone.....
Bill Cavin , I had a Gibson Dove in the late 70’s that had incredible tone. I unfortunately sold it as a very young man and have only found one that plays as real and rich and a friend owns that one. There are some amazing sounding guitars out there and I’d love to play a 200 like this one featured.
PS. I too love the many vintage Martin’s I’ve had the pleasure to play and my own D-28 especially .
@@bluenotesharp My former boss got the deal of a lifetime on a 66 D28,incredibly buy at $600!
Kevin Kendall , those gems are still out there. But are much fewer these days. I have a friend who buys and sells vintage instruments (not just guitars) and once in a while , he’ll call me to take a road trip to Tennessee or some out of the way Town where he found some crazy amazing sounding rare guitars. I just played a 1960 Guild semi acoustic tobacco sunburst archtop with scalloped bracing and in amazing condition along with the exact matching bass.
Both a treat to play.
Every play an old 00 or 000 Martin. 28. The neck is primitive and wider compared to later ones. My first guitar player friend got one as a teenager and still has it. That was my introduction to Martin Guitar Co.
All time fav is listening to Vince, Taylor, Allison all singing Red at the grammy's. Best ever!
Saw Vince with the Eagles in Seattle last September. Great show! Vince is a genius!
tremendous talent lovable man. thank you vince
Love Vince! Such a humble man. 👍
dammit, I wanted to hear these guys play. That guitar sounds incredible
No, we wanted to hear Vince Gill play, not another poorly played amateur version of "wish you were here." Unbelievable to have access to all those instruments and not even study or practice. How truly American! Less mouth, more guitar. (should be, OH, HI!, and then 99% guitar....) wasting all of our time with that.
Saw Vince twice in one day back in the spring. First at the Amigo guitar show in Franklin, Tennessee. Then later that evening in Nashville with the Eagles. Going to see him in a couple of weeks here in Ashland, KY with his band. Always a treat to see him live.
Loved it so much. What a rich sound from those guitars! Vince is hall of fame👍
Just the few phrases VG played on that magnificent instrument brought tears to my eyes. WOW. Agnesi played it on his very last Flat Top Friday.
that Gibson sounds out of this world...
100% overlooked guitar player due to his singing. Amazing. Just saw him last month. Keep up the content guys.
Man I just wanna sit on a back porch with Vince drink some sweet tea play eat some fried chicken play some tunes & listen to some of his old stories... seems like such a down to earth guy😎😎😎🎸🎸🎸
Vince Gill is so down to earth. I bet he'd sit around with anyone, play guitar and just be easy to talk to and laugh it up.
Yes he would sit around and not want to be front and center, the fan club parties he gave to us members was class, gifts, food, photos, he stayed for hours, rented the Ford room in the Hall Of Fame, a true humble talented man that showed his appreciation to his fan club members, believe it was a joy, we all received hand signed gifts, not cheap gifts he put some thoughts in those gifts, I still have all of my VG fan club gifts. 20 Busch’s to be a member 😊👍🏻🎶🎼🎵🎸🎸
Norman's Rare Name-Dropping Session.
Least he keeps that clown son of his off the camera now that's something
Humility - what a concept from - Vince Gill : One of most talented human beings ever born...
Like so many millions, Vince Gill is one of my faves of everything. So cool to see him here , and listen to him..."
read your book Norman". Very very cool vid. Thanks for sharing.
Vince Gill did an amazing job sitting in with the Eagles. One of the best concerts that I have ever seen, and I've seen them all.
Terry S. Smith agreed he was great, that deacon kid should be carrying his guitar not be in the band, nice gimmick and tribute to his dad but he was way outclassed
that was so cool....made my day! what a great humble guy...amante del instrumento!
So nice to see Vince Gill, love the Eagles
Just saw Vince a couple of months ago with the Eagles, got seats in row 16 on the floor, right on center. It was a tremendous show and absolutely excellent in every way. They played for over 2 1/2 hours. Glen Frey is definitely missed, but his son Deacon sure fills his shoes. Real glad I saw this tour!
LOVE U Vince! Seen u 2 times in San Diego!
VINCE, saw you with the Eagles in Miami earlier this year. Oustanding one of the best concerts in years. It was also great seeing Joe Walsh play live again. I used to drive about 20 miles to Kent Ohio during my college years to watch him play with the James Gang at the Kent bar scene.
Also want to thank you for Go Rest On That Mountain which I had played at my father's funeral. He was born in the mountains and laid to rest there. Thanks and Peace
Re-title the video... Vince Gill talks while holding a 1941 Gibson.
Love Vince Gill. What a humble down to earth guy and PHENOMENAL guitar player. 👍👍👍
I live in a little town in the middle of Ireland 🇮🇪. But I spotted the man in the blue t shirt. He heard the conversation about it being Vince Gill. So the man in the pink shirt came along. Just as it is in any town in any country. The man in the blue shirt couldn't wait to tell the other man to look over. Without making it obvious, obviously. I laughed to myself when I saw that interaction.
I love Vince Gill. He is so down to earth. He has never got bigger about his fame
It's a pity that he didn't actually play the guitar. Having said that. There would probably be a shindig in the middle of the day, wherever they were.
Vince is such a nice person. Oh, and very, very talented too.
Very cool I saw him a coupe of years ago Vince is awesome
What a great guy ! Have liked and followed Vince from day one. 👍
That Gibby sounded like a Grand Piano, whew what a tone. Listened to it thru my studio monitors and that was tasty.
Rich Firyn yeah, too bad there was so little playing !
Amen... the title even says 'playing' so pretty much makes it 'clickbait' right?
thanks for your love and support you are such a lovely fan how long have you been a fan❤️🎵
Vince is such a humble guy, and a total BADASS picker. Too bad we didn’t get a treat here. Has anyone ever seen his vintage Martin collection? There’s a video on here somewhere. Insane collection.
Was great listening to those guys!
Vince Gill is the real deal and I've seen with my own eyes women crying when they hear the words of his songs. Only a man with a good heart can write like that ...G...
Awesome.
Looking forward to seeing Vince here in New Zealand, for the first time EVER, with the Eagles, FEB/March 2019, would be great, if he could slot a VINCE GILL concert in between
I would so love to visit that shop, maybe purchase a vintage guitar, what a genuine pleasure that would be.
@Hello Michael how are you doing
I can get my best-sounding acoustic guitar (an outstanding Tacoma DM9) to sound 75% as good as this after a lot of studio trickery.
What an instrument. Just wow.
Pure Prairie League was one of my favorites when i was just a wild foot loose fancy free high schooler.
Ohhh man nick’s guitar is awesome !!!
Such a good vibe from Vince!
Vince keeping the Haggard flame burning✊ respect
That is what class looks like. He knows his stuff too.
thanks for your love and support you are such a lovely fan how long have you been a fan❤️🎵
Home state boy done good. He came back home to play 2 yrs ago. He had a bad leg, but he soldiered on. My better half did not understand why I like the fellow. She came away from the show understanding. When its it's his time to leave, may he go rest high on that mountain. And that song of his wife's, lead me on, that really got me thinking about things years ago, love the channel, give me one chance before ya wop me with rolling pin, well that's okay, my John deere still runs. Vince do play a mean version of in memory of Elizabeth Reed. He's worth the ticket.
Legend !!!
Wow. Beautiful people at Norms. That’s one thing that isn’t rare.
walkertonkidd
WELL SAID WALKER
Thank the Lord Vince never had to complete a statement or thought without getting bailed out by the staff! 👍
Thanks for your love and support J Barnheat. have you been to any of my concert ?
Mark sitting there thinking: What am I, chopped liver? LOL!!
Chad Shepherd , prob not, but he’s a remarkable guitar player.
I'll Never Forget, just ,,, I can't remember who said it about Vince Gill ,,, but ,,, he said:
** VINCE HAS THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL.**
& he truly does ...
Saw Vince many times but the concert at the late Starwood amphitheater was my favorite.
Matt Robin Is the Starwood amphitheater not there anymore? I saw the Lynrd Skynrd reunion there @ Volunteer jam ? Also Don Henley on loss of innocence tour. It was a great venue!!! The Lakewood amphitheater here in Atlanta is the same exact design and is still functioning
Great video. Hope to come visit one day!
iv'e just watched you with eagels in Dunedin New Zealand and loved it hope you enjoyed your time in our country
thanks for your love and support you are such a lovely fan how long have you been a fan?
Never disappointed with a Norm video. Just shows to go ya, a good business can generate a lot of people, but it's the Real People who make the business Great.
Thanks for bringing us artists who are not just from a good group, but artists who are good people.
Having Vince on brought a smile, and it would've been fantastic for a quick jam session. Maybe next time.
Enjoy the Holy Day!
Man I wanted to hear more of Vince playing that sj200 it sounded amazing. Although Vince can make anything with strings & frets sound great
Vince Gill, great man
That 41 Gibson is a monster sounding guitar. Beautiful ornamentation.
bravo bravo
That guitar sounds amazing.
It's all about the wood!!
What a great setting. Vince and that rare Gibson. I always wondered about the split in the back, my Alvereze has the same split.
IMHO, pre-war Gibson SJs are the absolute zenith of acoustic guitar luthiery. Go back and check out the few Mark has demoed (w/headphones). Every single one of them is otherworldly fantastic.
Saw Vince playing with the eagles a few months ago it was awesome
great stuff,
Eddie Bayers. The Players, Mr. Gill is crushing it with supporting vocals for Shawn Colvin. Check out Live in Nashville! So cool, with the amazing Michael Rhodes, and Brent Mason on guitar. It was also so nice to hear John Leventhal acknowledged for the huge talent, as a producer, songwriter, and musician. These guys are the real deal, the whole enchilada! And Chillin’ at Norm’s, with Mark and Nick, is one of the best ways to spend an afternoon. Mark has moved on, miss you Mark!, but hopefully we will get to visit Norm’s again soon.
Well Norm, I'm just a drummer- but William Bells' drummer in Europe and last year we toured the This is where I Live album (along with his classic tunes). Yeah it's a great album and the production is fabulous. William, by the way, is a lovely sweet guy and sings great at 78! Enjoying the videos, good stuff! Regards, Pete Stroud, London.
I’m gonna see them tonight!
98% chit-chatting and 2% playing. Awesome.
cool!
The guy on the left who said that his guitar was light as a feather: I once went into Gruhn’s and I played some of the guitars, and the first thing that I said to myself was oh my God, this thing is light as a feather. The older guitars have no truss rod, I was told. The guitars are alive. I don’t play well enough to deserve it, despite the fact that I could afford it. it shouldn’t be with me!
Vince is great! Sure wish they had played though lol
that was a great jam.
Mark's thinking....can we frickin play something???
Among the best ever.
Great Guitar player and a nice Guy
My favorite musician.... Vince.
What a guitar!
The tone from that Gibson is just amazing. They don't make them like that anymore.
Vince Gill is just great. Also said to have the largest guitar collection in the United States.
Not the largest by a long shot. But he does have one of the nicest.....especially old Martin’s
Shared.Thanks Normsn
I'm still yet to work out if I am encouraged to try harder when listening to vince play and sing, or just give it away! 😋 #sogood
Eight minutes and nineteen seconds of my life I cannot get back. When you have to play, play don't talk!
thot it was odd when Mark asked Vince about his road guitars, then talked over him...….
thanks for your love and support you are such a lovely fan how long have you been a fan?
Wonderful, that's all I have to say.
Norm always comes across as just a sweet and gracious dude. Id like to meet him if I am ever in that neck of the woods.
Vince Gill is cool enough but to have done a stint as with the Eagles, wow awesome Vince!🤘🤪🚁
Vince Gill the best ever!!!
Clickbait. He didn't play anything. You should have titled it Vince Gill talking.
longlat39 he played 3 chords
that was total bullshit agreed ...vince cant play acoustic obviously
@@sugarlife485 He most certainly can. He is a master guitarist. This was just a crappy click bait video.
Come on guys, they are just sitting around a couch at Norm's, sharing a conversation with us about guitars and music. Good enough for me anyway.
Norm just blowing smoke as usual.. Vince is a class act and played along
Yes Vince is real good.
I saw PPL back in '79 at the Palace in Stamford... wow he looks different. I on the other hand, haven't aged a bit ; )
Aside from my boy Roy Clarke..... You are number two best of all guitarists Vince... Love your versatility..
Chet Atkins was the best there ever was.
Roy and Vince are among the greatest but are not even close to the level of Chet.
But, who is....?
Chet, Roy & Steve Wariner......
@@ronbloomberg JERRY REED n GLEN CAMPBELL can play with the best of them
Vince is the best!!
